Jonas 2

1 Então, orou Jonas a Jeová, seu Deus, lá *Jó 13.15;Sl 130.1-2;Lm 3.53-56do ventre do peixe. 2 Ele disse:

Da minha aflição, *1Sm 30.6;Sl 18.4-6;22.24;120.1clamei a Jeová,

e ele me respondeu;

do ventre do *Sl 18.5-6;61.2;86.13;83.1-7Sheol gritei,

e tu ouviste a minha voz.

3 Pois me *Sl 69.1-2,14-15;Lm 3.54lançaste no profundo, no coração dos mares,

e a corrente das águas me cercou;

todas as tuas *Sl 42.7ondas e as tuas vagas passaram por cima de mim.

4 Eu disse: *Sl 31.22;Jr 7.15Lançado estou de diante dos teus olhos;

todavia, tornarei a olhar *1Rs 8.38;2Cr 6.38;Sl 5.7para o teu santo templo.

5 *Lm 3.54As águas me cercaram até a alma,

*Sl 69.1-2o abismo me rodeou;

a alga se pegava à minha cabeça.

6 *Sl 18.5;116.3Desci até os fundamentos dos montes;

a terra me encerrou para sempre com os seus *Is 38.10;Mt 16.18ferrolhos;

contudo, tu, Jeová, meu Deus, *Jó 33.28;Sl 16.10;30.3;Is 38.17fizeste subir da cova a minha vida.

7 Quando, dentro de mim, *Sl 142.3desfalecia a minha alma, *Sl 77.10-11;143.5lembrei-me de Jeová;

e entrou a ti a *2Cr 30.27;Sl 18.6minha oração, no *Jn 2.4;Sl 11.4;65.4;Mq 1.2;Hc 2.20teu santo templo.

8 Os que *2Rs 17.15;Sl 31.6;Jr 16.19observam vaidades mentirosas

abandonam aquele que lhes é misericordioso.

9 Eu, porém, *Sl 50.14,23;Jr 33.11;Os 14.2te oferecerei sacrifícios com a voz de ação de graças;

*Jó 22.27;Ec 5.4-5pagarei o que votei.

*Sl 3.8;Is 45.17A Jeová pertence a salvação.

10 Jeová falou ao *Jn 1.17peixe, e o peixe vomitou a Jonas na terra.

1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, 2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.*2.2 by…: or, out of mine affliction*2.2 hell: or, the grave 3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.*2.3 midst: Heb. heart 4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.*2.6 bottoms: Heb. cuttings off*2.6 corruption: or, the pit 7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
