A excelência e vantagem da Sabedoria

1 Filho meu, *Pv 4.10se receberes as minhas palavras

*Pv 3.1e entesourares em ti os meus mandamentos,

2 de sorte que *Pv 22.17inclines o teu ouvido à sabedoria

e apliques o teu coração ao entendimento;

3 se clamares ao discernimento

e alçares a tua voz ao entendimento;

4 se buscares a sabedoria *Pv 3.14como a prata

e a procurares diligentemente como a *Jó 3.21;Mt 13.44tesouros escondidos;

5 então, entenderás o *Pv 1.7temor de Jeová

e acharás o conhecimento de Deus.

6 *1Rs 3.12;Jó 32.8;Tg 1.5Pois Jeová é quem dá a sabedoria;

da sua boca procedem o conhecimento e o entendimento.

7 Ele reserva a verdadeira sabedoria para os retos;

é *Pv 30.5;Sl 84.11escudo para os que andam em integridade,

8 para guardar as veredas do juízo

e *1Sm 2.9;Sl 66.9preservar o caminho dos seus santos.

9 Então, entenderás a *Pv 8.20justiça, o juízo

e a equidade, todas as *Pv 4.18boas veredas.

10 Pois a *Pv 14.33sabedoria entrará no teu coração,

e a *Pv 22.18ciência agradará à tua alma;

11 a discrição *Pv 4.6;6.22te protegerá,

e o discernimento te guardará,

12 *Pv 28.26para te livrar do caminho do homem mau

e do que fala *Pv 6.12coisas perversas;

13 dos que *Pv 21.16abandonam as veredas da retidão,

para andarem nos *Pv 4.19;Sl 82.5;Jo 3.19-20caminhos das trevas;

14 dos que *Pv 10.23;Jr 11.15se alegram de fazer o mal

e se deleitam nas perversidades do homem mau;

15 dos que são *Pv 21.8;Sl 125.5tortuosos nas suas veredas

e iníquos nas suas carreiras;

16 *Pv 6.24;7.5e também para te livrar da mulher estranha,

*Pv 23.27da estrangeira, que lisonjeia com as suas palavras;

17 a qual abandona *Ml 3.14-15o amigo da sua mocidade

e se esquece da aliança do seu Deus.

18 Pois *Pv 7.27a sua casa pende para a morte,

e as suas veredas guiam para as sombras.

19 Ninguém dos que entram a ela tornará a sair,

nem acertará com *Pv 5.6;Sl 16.11as veredas da vida.

20 Assim, andarás pelo caminho dos homens de bem

e guardarás as *Pv 4.18veredas dos justos.

21 Pois os *Pv 10.30;Sl 37.9,29retos habitarão na terra,

e nela permanecerão *Pv 28.10os perfeitos.

22 Mas os *Pv 10.30;Sl 37.38perversos serão exterminados da terra,

e dela serão *Dt 28.63;Sl 52.5desarraigados os *Pv 11.3transgressores.

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;*2.3 liftest…: Heb. givest thy voice 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: 16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. 18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. 19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. 20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. 22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.*2.22 rooted: or, plucked up
