Os perigos dum amor impudico

1 Filho meu, *Pv 4.20atende à minha sabedoria;

*Pv 22.17inclina o teu ouvido para a minha prudência,

2 a fim de que *Pv 3.21observes a discrição,

e os teus *Ml 2.7lábios guardem o conhecimento.

3 Pois os lábios da *Pv 5.20;2.16;7.5;22.14prostituta *Ct 4.11destilam mel,

e a sua boca é *Sl 55.21mais macia do que o azeite;

4 mas o seu fim é *Ec 7.26amargoso como o absinto

e *Sl 57.4agudo, como espada de dois gumes.

5 Os seus pés *Pv 7.27descem à morte,

os seus passos seguem o caminho do Sheol.

6 Ela não *Pv 5.21;4.26faz plana a vereda da vida,

*2Pe 2.14incertos são os seus caminhos, *Pv 30.20e ela o ignora.

7 *Pv 7.24Agora, pois, filhos, escutai-me

e *Sl 119.102não vos desvieis das palavras da minha boca.

8 *Pv 7.25Afasta para longe dela o teu caminho

e não chegues à *Pv 9.14porta da sua casa,

9 para que não dês a outros a tua honra,

e os teus anos, a cruéis;

10 para que não suceda que estrangeiros se fartem dos teus bens,

e os teus trabalhos vão para casa alheia;

11 e gemas no teu fim,

quando forem consumidos a tua carne e o teu corpo,

12 e que digas: Como tenho *Pv 1.7,22,29aborrecido a instrução,

e como tem *Pv 1.25;12.1desprezado o meu coração a repreensão;

13 não tenho obedecido à voz *Pv 1.8dos que me ensinavam,

nem tenho inclinado o meu ouvido para os que instruíam!

14 Quase que me achei em todo o mal,

que sucedeu no meio da congregação e da assembleia.

15 Bebe água da tua própria cisterna

e água que corre do teu poço.

16 Hão de espalhar-se os teus *Pv 5.18;9.17;Ct 4.12,15mananciais para fora,

e os teus ribeiros de água, nas ruas?

17 Sejam para ti só

e não para estrangeiros juntamente contigo.

18 Seja a tua fonte abençoada,

*Ec 9.9e regozija-te *Ml 2.14na mulher da tua mocidade.

19 Como *Ct 2.9,17;4.5;7.3corça amável e graciosa cabra montês,

satisfaçam-te os seus peitos em todo o tempo;

e sejas sempre arrebatado pelo seu amor.

20 Por que, filho meu, havias de ser arrebatado por *Pv 5.3uma prostituta,

E abraçarias o seio *Pv 2.16;6.24;7.5;23.27duma estrangeira?

21 Pois *Pv 15.3;Jó 14.16;31.4;34.21;Sl 119.168;Jr 16.17;32.19;Os 7.2;Hb 4.13os caminhos do homem estão diante dos olhos de Jeová,

o qual lhe *Pv 4.26torna planas todas as suas veredas.

22 *Pv 1.31-32;Nm 32.23;Sl 7.15;9.15;40.12As suas próprias iniquidades prenderão o perverso,

e, pelas cordas do seu pecado, será detido.

23 *Jó 4.21;36.12Ele morrerá por falta de instrução

e, na grandeza da sua loucura, se perderá.

1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.

3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:*5.3 mouth: Heb. palate 4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. 6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. 7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. 8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: 9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: 10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;*5.10 thy wealth: Heb. thy strength 11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, 12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; 13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! 14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. 16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. 17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. 18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. 19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.*5.19 satisfy…: Heb. water thee*5.19 be thou…: Heb. err thou always in her love 20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? 21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.*5.22 sins: Heb. sin 23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
