O castigo de Jerusalém e das nações

1 Ai da que é *Jr 5.23rebelde e *Ez 23.30contaminada, da *Jr 6.6cidade opressora! 2 Ela *Jr 7.23-28não obedeceu à voz, *Jr 2.30;5.3não aceitou a correção, *Sl 78.22;Jr 13.25não confiou em Jeová, *Sl 73.28não se aproximou do seu Deus. 3 Os seus *Ez 22.27príncipes no meio dela são leões rugidores, e os seus juízes, *Jr 5.6;Hc 1.8lobos da tarde; nada deixam até o dia seguinte. 4 Os seus profetas são *Jz 9.4levianos, homens traiçoeiros; os seus *Ez 22.26;Ml 2.7-8sacerdotes têm profanado o santuário, têm violado a lei. 5 Jeová *Sf 3.15,17;Jr 14.9no meio dela é *Dt 32.4justo; ele *Sl 92.15não fará iniquidade; *Jó 7.18de manhã em manhã, traz ele à luz o seu juízo; não falha; o injusto, porém, *Sf 2.1não conhece a vergonha. 6 Tenho exterminado nações, os seus *Sf 1.16baluartes estão desolados; tenho tornado *Jr 9.12desertas as suas ruas, de sorte que ninguém passe por elas; as *Is 6.11suas cidades estão destruídas, de sorte que não fique ninguém e não haja quem *Sf 2.5as habite. 7 Eu disse: Certamente, me temerás, *Sf 3.2;Is 63.8aceitarás a correção; assim, *Jr 7.7não seria exterminada a tua habitação, segundo tudo o que tenho ordenado a respeito de ti. Eles, porém, se levantaram cedo *Os 9.9e corromperam todos os seus feitos.

8 Portanto, *Sl 27.14;Is 30.18;Hc 2.3espera-me, diz Jeová, até o dia em que eu me levantar para o despojo; porque o *Sf 2.2meu intento é *Ez 38.14-23;Jl 3.2congregar as nações, para que reúna os reinos, a fim de derramar sobre eles a minha indignação, todo o furor da minha ira; *Sf 1.18pois toda a terra será devorada pelo fogo do meu zelo.

Restauração e segurança de Israel

9 Nesse tempo, darei aos povos *Is 19.18;57.19uma língua pura, para que *Sf 2.11;Sl 22.27;86.9;Hc 2.14todos invoquem o nome de Jeová, a fim de o servirem de um só acordo. 10 Dalém dos rios da *Sl 68.31;Is 11.11;18.1,7Etiópia, os que me suplicam, a saber, a filha dos meus dispersos, *Is 60.6-7trarão a minha oferta. 11 Naquele dia, *Is 45.17;54.4;Jl 2.26-27serás envergonhado por causa de todos os teus feitos, nos quais tens transgredido contra mim; porque então tirarei do meio de ti os que *Is 2.12;5.15exultam na tua majestade, e nunca mais te ensoberbecerás no meu *Is 11.9;56.7;Ez 20.40santo monte. 12 Deixarei no meio de ti um *Is 14.30,32;Zc 13.8-9povo pobre e necessitado, e eles *Is 50.10;Na 1.7confiarão em o nome de Jeová. 13 O *Sf 2.7;Is 10.20-22;Mq 4.7resto de Israel *Sf 3.5;Sl 119.3;Jr 31.33não fará iniquidade, *Zc 8.3,16nem falará mentiras; não se achará na boca deles língua enganosa. Pois *Is 65.10;Ez 34.13-15pastarão e se deitarão, e não haverá quem os espante.

14 Canta, filha de Sião, *Zc 9.9exulta Israel; alegra-te e regozija-te de todo o teu coração, filha de Jerusalém. 15 Jeová tem tirado os teus juízos, tem lançado fora o teu inimigo; o Rei de Israel, isto é, Jeová, está *Sf 3.5;Ez 37.26-28no meio de ti; *Is 54.14não temerás daqui em diante mal algum. 16 Naquele dia, se dirá a Jerusalém: *Is 35.3-4Não tenhas medo; não se enfraqueçam as tuas mãos, ó Sião. 17 Jeová teu Deus está *Sf 3.5,15no meio de ti; *Is 63.1o poderoso que salvará, *Is 62.5se regozijará em ti com alegria, descansará no seu amor, exultará sobre ti com júbilo. 18 Congregarei os que *Sl 42.2-4;Ez 9.4,6em tristeza suspiram pela assembleia solene, os quais te pertenciam e para quem era um opróbrio o peso que estava sobre ti. 19 Eis que, nesse tempo, tratarei de todos os que *Is 60.14;Zc 8.23te afligirem; salvarei a que *Ez 34.16;Mq 4.6coxeia, e recolherei a que estava expulsa, e farei deles *Is 60.18;62.7um louvor e um nome em toda a terra em que tem *Ez 16.27,57sido envergonhados. 20 Naquele tempo, *Ez 37.12,21vos farei voltar, naquele tempo, vos ajuntarei; porque farei de vós *Dt 26.18-19;Is 56.5;66.22um nome e um louvor entre todos os povos da terra, quando eu *Sf 2.7;Jr 29.14;Jl 3.1fizer voltar o vosso cativeiro diante dos vossos olhos, diz Jeová.

1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!*3.1 her…: or, gluttonous: Heb. craw 2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.*3.2 correction: or, instruction 3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. 4 Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. 5 The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.*3.5 every…: Heb. morning by morning 6 I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.*3.6 towers: or, corners 7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. 9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.*3.9 language: Heb. lip*3.9 consent: Heb. shoulder 10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering. 11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.*3.11 because…: Heb. in my holy 12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD. 13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. 15 The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. 16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.*3.16 slack: or, faint 17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.*3.17 rest: Heb. be silent 18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.*3.18 reproach…: Heb. the burden upon it was reproach 19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.*3.19 get…: Heb. set them for a praise*3.19 where…: Heb. of their shame 20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
