Ameaças contra diversas nações

1 Congregai-vos, sim, *2Cr 20.4;Jl 1.14congregai-vos, ó nação *Jr 3.3;6.15sem pudor; 2 antes que *Sf 3.8;2Rs 23.27o decreto se realize (*Is 17.13;Os 13.3como a pragana passa o dia), antes que venha sobre vós *Lm 4.11;Na 1.6o furor da ira de Jeová, antes que venha sobre vós *Sf 1.18o dia da ira de Jeová. 3 *Sl 105.4;Am 5.6Buscai a Jeová, todos *Sl 22.26;Is 11.4os mansos da terra, que tendes posto por obra o seu juízo; *Am 5.14-15buscai a justiça, buscai a mansidão; pode ser que sejais *Sl 57.1;Is 26.20escondidos no dia da ira de Jeová.

4 Pois *Am 1.7-8;Zc 9.5-7Gaza será desamparada, e Asquelom, desolada; ao meio-dia, expelirão a Asdode, e Ecrom será desarraigada. 5 Ai dos que habitam na costa do mar, da nação *Ez 25.16dos quereítas! A palavra de Jeová é *Am 3.1contra vós, *Sf 1.11ó Canaã, terra dos filisteus, e *Is 14.29-30destruir-te-ei sem que fique *Sf 3.6um só habitante. 6 A costa do mar servirá *Is 7.25de pasto, em que haverá cabanas para os pastores e currais para os rebanhos. 7 A costa será para *Is 11.14;Jr 32.44o resto da casa de Judá; ali, *Is 32.14apascentarão os seus rebanhos; de tarde, se deitarão nas casas de Asquelom, pois Jeová seu Deus os *Êx 4.31;Sl 80.14visitará *Sf 3.20;Sl 126.4e fará voltar o cativeiro deles.

8 Tenho ouvido *Ez 25.8os opróbrios de Moabe *Ez 25.3e os ultrajes dos filhos de Amom, com que insultaram o meu povo e *Am 1.13se engrandeceram contra o seu termo. 9 Portanto, pela minha vida, diz Jeová dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Certamente, *Is 15.1—16.14;Jr 48.1-47;Am 2.1-3Moabe será como Sodoma, e os filhos de *Jr 49.1-6;Ez 25.1-7Amom, como *Dt 29.23Gomorra, campo de urtigas, e poços de sal, e desolação perpétua; o resto do meu povo os *Is 11.14despojará, e o restante da minha nação os possuirá. 10 Isso terão em atenção à sua *Is 16.6soberba, porque *Sf 2.8usaram de escárnios e se engrandeceram contra o povo de Jeová dos Exércitos. 11 Jeová se lhes mostrará *Jl 2.11terrível, pois fará perecer todos os *Sf 1.4deuses da terra; *Sf 3.9;Sl 72.8-11e adorá-lo-ão, cada uma desde o seu lugar, todas as *Is 24.15ilhas das nações.

12 Também vós, *Is 20.4-5;Ez 30.4-9etíopes, vós sereis mortos pela minha espada. 13 Ele *Sf 1.4;Is 14.26estenderá a mão contra o Norte, e destruirá a *Is 10.12,16;Mq 5.6Assíria, e fará de *Na 3.7Nínive uma desolação e terra árida como o deserto.

14 No meio dela, se deitarão manadas, todas as feras das nações; alojar-se-ão nos capitéis dela tanto o *Is 14.23;34.11-15pelicano como o ouriço; a voz do seu canto se ouvirá nas janelas; haverá desolação nos seus limiares, porque ele tem posto a descoberto a obra de cedro. 15 Esta é a *Is 22.2cidade alegre que *Is 32.9,11;47.8habitava cheia de confiança, que dizia no seu coração: *Is 47.8;Ez 28.2,9Eu sou, e fora de mim não há outra; como se tem ela tornado numa *Is 32.14desolação, num covil de feras! *Jr 18.16;19.8Todo o que passar por ela assobiará e meneará a mão.

4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up. 5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. 6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks. 7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.*2.7 for the LORD: or, when, etc

8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border. 9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them. 10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts. 11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.*2.11 famish: Heb. make lean

12 Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword. 13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness. 14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.*2.14 cormorant: or, pelican*2.14 upper…: or, knops, or, chapiters*2.14 for…: or, when he hath uncovered 15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
