Por que vivem em paz todos os que *Jr 3.7,20;5.11procedem aleivosamente? 2 *Jr 12.17;45.4;Ez 17.5-10Plantaste-os, e lançaram raízes; medraram, dão fruto; *Jr 3.10;Is 29.13;Ez 33.31;Tt 1.16perto estás na boca deles, mas longe dos seus rins. 3 Porém tu, Jeová, *Sl 139.1-4me conheces; tu me vês e *Jr 11.20;Sl 7.9;11.5provas o meu coração para contigo. *Jr 17.18;18.21-23;50.27Arranca-os como ovelhas destinadas para o matadouro e prepara-os para o dia da matança. 4 Até quando lamentará *Jr 4.28;9.10;23.10a terra, e murchará *Jl 1.10-17a erva do campo todo? Por causa da maldade dos que nela habitam, consumidos foram os *Os 4.3;Hc 3.17animais e as *Jr 4.25aves, porque disseram: Ele não verá o nosso *Jr 5.31;Ez 7.2fim.

Embora numa terra de paz estejas seguro, como hás de fazer na *Jr 49.19;50.44soberba do Jordão? 6 Pois até teus *Jr 9.4-5;Gn 37.4-11;Jó 6.15;Sl 69.8irmãos, e a casa de teu pai, até esses mesmos se houveram aleivosamente contigo; até esses clamaram após ti a grandes vozes. Não te fies deles, ainda que te dirijam *Sl 12.2;Pv 26.25boas palavras.

O país é devastado. Profecia contra os seus devastadores

Acaso, *2Rs 24.2;Ez 23.22-25as aves de rapina se voltam contra ela de todos os lados? Ide, ajuntai todos os *Jr 7.33;15.3;34.20;Is 56.9animais do campo, trazei-os para a devorarem. 10 Muitos pastores *Jr 23.1destruíram a minha *Sl 80.8-16;Is 5.1-7vinha, *Is 63.18calcaram aos pés a minha porção, fizeram da minha *Jr 3.19;Lm 1.10aprazível porção um ermo desolado. 11 Tornaram-na em desolação; ela, assolada, *Jr 12.4;Jr 14.2;23.10pranteia ao meu pesar. *Jr 4.20,27;25.11Toda a terra está devastada, porque ninguém *Is 42.25toma isso a peito. 12 Sobre todos os *Jr 3.2,21altos escalvados do deserto são vindos despojadores, porque *Jr 47.6;Is 34.6;Am 9.4a espada de Jeová devora desde uma até outra extremidade da terra; *Jr 16.5;30.5não há paz para nenhuma carne. 13 *Lv 26.16;Dt 28.38;Mq 6.15;Ag 1.6Semearam trigo, mas ceifaram espinhos; *Jr 9.5;Is 55.2cansaram-se, mas não recebem proveito algum. Envergonhados sereis dos vossos *Jr 17.10frutos por causa do *Jr 4.26;25.37-38ardor da ira de Jeová.

14 Assim diz Jeová acerca de todos os meus *Jr 49.1,7;Sf 2.8-10maus vizinhos, que *Jr 2.3;50.11-12;Zc 2.8tocam a herança que fiz herdar o meu povo de Israel: Eis que os *Dt 30.3;Sl 106.47;Is 11.11-16arrancarei a eles da sua terra e arrancarei a casa de Judá do meio deles. 15 Depois de os ter eu arrancado, *Jr 48.47;49.6,39tornarei e me compadecerei deles; fá-los-ei voltar, cada um para a sua herança e cada um para a sua terra. 16 Se *Is 42.6;49.6aprenderem diligentemente os caminhos do meu povo, *Jr 4.2jurando pelo meu nome… Pela vida de Jeová, assim como ensinaram o meu povo a *Jr 5.7;Js 23.7jurar por Baal; serão *Jr 3.17;4.2;16.19edificados no meio do meu povo. 17 Porém, se não ouvirem, *Sl 2.8-12;Is 60.12arrancarei essa nação, arrancando-a e destruindo-a, diz Jeová.

1 You are righteous, Yahweh,

when I contend with you;

yet I would like to plead a case with you.

Why does the way of the wicked prosper?

Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?

2 You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root.

They grow. Yes, they produce fruit.

You are near in their mouth,

and far from their heart.

3 But you, Yahweh, know me.

You see me, and test my heart toward you.

Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter,

and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

4 How long will the land mourn,

and the herbs of the whole country wither?

Because of the wickedness of those who dwell therein,

the animals and birds are consumed;

because they said,

"He won’t see our latter end."

5 "If you have run with the footmen,

and they have wearied you,

then how can you contend with horses?

Though in a land of peace you are secure,

yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?

6 For even your brothers, and the house of your father,

even they have dealt treacherously with you!

Even they have cried aloud after you!

Don’t believe them,

though they speak beautiful words to you.

7 "I have forsaken my house.

I have cast off my heritage.

I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

8 My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest.

She has uttered her voice against me.

Therefore I have hated her.

9 Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey?

Are the birds of prey against her all around?

Go, assemble all the animals of the field.

Bring them to devour.

10 Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard.

They have trodden my portion under foot.

They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

11 They have made it a desolation.

It mourns to me, being desolate.

The whole land is made desolate,

because no one cares.

12 Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness;

for the sword of Yahweh devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land.

No flesh has peace.

13 They have sown wheat,

and have reaped thorns.

They have exhausted themselves,

and profit nothing.

You will be ashamed of your fruits,

because of Yahweh’s fierce anger."

14 Yahweh says, "Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them. 15 It will happen that after I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them. I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land. 16 It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As Yahweh lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people. 17 But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it," says Yahweh.
