Jó 37

O homem, por conhecer as obras de Deus e a sua sabedoria, deve temê-lo

1 Sobre isso treme também o meu coração, salta do seu lugar.

2 Dai ouvidos ao *Jó 36.33;37.4-5;Sl 29.3-9estrondo da voz de Deus

e ao sonido que sai da sua boca.

3 Ele o envia por sob a extensão do céu

e o seu relâmpago, até *Jó 37.12;28.24;38.13as extremidades da terra.

4 Depois, ruge uma voz;

troveja com a sua voz majestosa;

não retarda os raios, quando a sua voz é ouvida.

5 *Jó 26.14Troveja Deus maravilhosamente com a sua voz,

*Jó 37.14,16,23;5.9faz grandes coisas que não podemos compreender.

6 Pois diz à *Jó 38.22neve: Cai sobre a terra;

di-lo também às chuvas,

até as *Jó 36.27, ref.chuvas mais fortes.

7 *Jó 12.14Põe um selo à mão de cada homem,

para que o conheçam todos os homens que fez.

8 Então, as feras entram nos *Jó 38.40;Sl 104.22esconderijos

e ficam nos seus covis.

9 *Jó 9.9Da câmara do Sul sai o tufão,

e, do Norte, o frio.

10 Ao sopro de Deus, forma-se *Jó 38.29;Sl 147.17o gelo,

e as amplas águas são congeladas.

11 *Jó 36.27Carrega de umidade a densa nuvem

*Jó 36.29e estende a sua *Jó 37.15nuvem de relâmpagos,

12 que faz evoluções sobre a sua direção,

para efetuar *Jó 36.32;Sl 148.8tudo o que lhe ordena

sobre a *Is 14.21;27.6superfície do mundo habitável:

13 ou seja, para a *Êx 9.18,23;1Sm 12.18-19correção (ou seja, *Jó 38.26-27para sua terra)

ou para *1Rs 18.45misericórdia, que ele a faça vir.

14 Inclina, Jó, os teus ouvidos a isso;

para e considera as maravilhas de Deus.

15 Acaso, sabes como Deus lhes dá as suas ordens

e faz brilhar o relâmpago da sua nuvem?

16 Porventura, sabes o equilíbrio das nuvens,

*Jó 37.5,14,23as maravilhas daquele *Jó 36.4que é perfeito em conhecimento.

17 Tu, cujos vestidos são quentes,

quando a terra está quieta por causa do siroco,

18 acaso, podes, como ele, *Jó 9.8;Sl 104.2;Is 45.12;Jr 10.12;Zc 12.1estender o firmamento,

que é sólido como um espelho fundido?

19 Ensina-nos o que lhe diremos,

pois, ignorantes, *Jó 9.14;Rm 8.26nós não podemos dirigir-lhe a palavra.

20 Ser-lhe-á dito que quero discutir?

Desejaria um homem ser aniquilado?

21 Eis que o homem não pode olhar para o sol que brilha no firmamento,

quando o vento tem passado e o deixa limpo.

22 Do norte vem o áureo esplendor;

Deus está cercado de majestade terrível.

23 Quanto ao Todo-Poderoso, *Jó 11.7-8, ref.;Rm 11.33;1Tm 6.16não o podemos compreender; *Jó 9.4;36.5grande é em poder.

24 Portanto, os homens o temem.

Ele *Jó 5.13;1Co 1.26não se importa com os que se julgam sábios.

1 "Yes, at this my heart trembles,

and is moved out of its place.

2 Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice,

the sound that goes out of his mouth.

3 He sends it out under the whole sky,

and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

4 After it a voice roars.

He thunders with the voice of his majesty.

He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.

5 God thunders marvelously with his voice.

He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.

6 For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’

likewise to the shower of rain,

and to the showers of his mighty rain.

7 He seals up the hand of every man,

that all men whom he has made may know it.

8 Then the animals take cover,

and remain in their dens.

9 Out of its room comes the storm,

and cold out of the north.

10 By the breath of God, ice is given,

and the width of the waters is frozen.

11 Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture.

He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.

12 It is turned around by his guidance,

that they may do whatever he commands them

on the surface of the habitable world,

13 whether it is for correction, or for his land,

or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.

14 "Listen to this, Job.

Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

15 Do you know how God controls them,

and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?

16 Do you know the workings of the clouds,

the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

17 You whose clothing is warm

when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?

18 Can you, with him, spread out the sky,

which is strong as a cast metal mirror?

19 Teach us what we will tell him,

for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.

20 Will it be told him that I would speak?

Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

21 Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies,

but the wind passes, and clears them.

22 Out of the north comes golden splendor.

With God is awesome majesty.

23 We can’t reach the Almighty.

He is exalted in power.

In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.

24 Therefore men revere him.

He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart."
