Lamentações 2

As tristezas de Sião provêm de Jeová

1 Como *Lm 3.43-44;Ez 30.18;32.7-8cobre de nuvens o Senhor na sua ira a filha de Sião!

*Is 14.12-15;Ez 28.14-16Derribou do céu à terra *Is 64.11a glória de Israel

e no dia da sua ira, não se lembrou do *Sl 99.5;132.7escabelo dos seus pés.

2 O Senhor *Lm 3.43;Sl 21.9;Jr 13.14tragou todas as habitações de Jacó e não mostrou piedade;

no seu furor, *Lm 2.5,17;Jr 5.17;Mq 5.11,14derribou as fortalezas da filha de Judá, *Is 25.12;26.5lançando-as por terra;

tratou como *Sl 89.39-40;Is 43.28profanos o reino e os seus príncipes.

3 No furor da sua ira, cortou *Sl 75.5,10;Jr 48.25toda a força de Israel;

em face do inimigo, *Sl 74.11;Jr 21.4-5retirou para trás a sua destra

*Is 42.25;Jr 21.14e incendiou a Jacó como um fogo chamejante que devora tudo ao redor.

4 Armou o seu *Jr 3.12-13;Jó 6.4;16.13arco como inimigo, postou-se como adversário com a sua destra;

matou tudo o que era *Ez 24.25aprazível aos olhos;

na tenda da filha de Sião, *Is 42.25;Jr 7.20derramou o seu furor como fogo.

5 O Senhor tornou-se como *Jr 30.14inimigo, *Lm 2.2tragou a Israel;

tragou todos os seus *Lm 2.2;Jr 52.13palácios, destruiu as suas fortalezas;

e *Jr 6.26;9.17-20multiplicou na filha de Judá o pranto e a lamentação.

6 *Jr 7.14Demoliu, com violência, o seu tabernáculo, como se fosse o dum jardim; *Jr 52.13destruiu o seu lugar de assembleia.

O Senhor *Lm 1.4;Jr 17.27;Sf 3.18entregou ao esquecimento em Sião a assembleia solene e o sábado;

e na indignação da sua ira, *Lm 4.16,20;5.12;Is 43.28;Jr 13.13-14desprezou ao rei e ao sacerdote.

7 O Senhor *Sl 78.59-61;Is 64.11;Ez 7.20-22rejeitou o seu altar, abominou o seu santuário,

*Jr 33.4-5;52.13entregou nas mãos do inimigo os muros dos seus palácios.

Deram *Sl 74.3-8gritos na Casa de Jeová como no dia duma assembleia solene.

8 Jeová resolveu *Lm 2.17;Jr 5.10;39.8;52.14destruir o muro da filha de Sião;

*2Rs 21.13;Is 34.11;Am 7.7-9estendeu o cordel, e a sua mão não cessou de fazer estragos.

Mas *Is 3.26;Jr 14.2fez lamentar o antemural e o muro, os quais juntamente enfraquecem.

9 Sepultadas na terra estão *Ne 1.3as suas portas; ele destruiu e quebrou os ferrolhos dela.

O seu *Lm 4.20;Dt 28.36;Jr 16.13;Ez 17.20rei e os seus príncipes acham-se entre as nações onde *Os 3.4não existe a lei.

Os seus profetas *Jr 14.14;23.16;Ez 7.26não recebem visões da parte de Jeová.

10 Estão *Jó 2.13;Is 3.26;47.1sentados no chão os anciãos da filha de Sião *Am 8.3e calados;

lançaram *Jó 2.12;Ez 27.30pó ao ar sobre as suas cabeças, vestiram-se de *Is 15.3;Jn 3.6-8sacos;

*Lm 1.4as virgens de Jerusalém abaixam as suas cabeças até o chão.

11 Os meus *Lm 1.16;3.48-51;Jr 9.1olhos enfraquecem à força de chorar, *Jr 4.19turbadas estão as minhas entranhas,

o meu *Jó 16.13fígado derramou-se pela terra por causa da *Lm 4.10;Is 22.4destruição da filha do meu povo,

porquanto nas ruas da cidade desfalecem *Lm 2.19;Jr 44.7os meninos e as crianças de mama.

12 Ao *Lm 4.4desfalecerem, como feridos, nas ruas da cidade,

ao exalarem as suas *Jó 30.16;Sl 42.4;62.8almas no regaço de suas mães,

eles lhes perguntam: *Jr 1.11;5.17Onde está o trigo e o vinho?

13 Que testemunho te darei? A que te assemelharei, ó filha de Jerusalém?

A que *Lm 1.12te compararei, para te consolar, *Is 37.22ó virgem filha de Sião?

Pois grande é como o mar *Sl 60.2;Jr 14.17a tua brecha. Quem te *Jr 8.22;30.12-15poderá curar?

14 Os teus *Jr 23.25-29;29.8-9profetas viram para ti visões vãs e fátuas;

*Is 58.1;Mq 3.8;Ez 23.36não manifestaram a tua iniquidade, para te desviarem do cativeiro,

porém *Jr 23.36;Ez 22.25,28viram para ti profecias vãs e coisas que te levaram ao exílio.

15 Todos os que passam *Jó 27.23;Ez 25.6batem com as mãos sobre ti,

*Jr 19.8;Sf 2.15assobiam e *Sl 22.7;Is 37.22;Jr 18.16meneiam a cabeça sobre a filha de Jerusalém, dizendo:

É esta, porventura, a cidade a que chamavam os homens *Sl 50.2a perfeição da formosura, *Sl 48.2o gozo da terra toda?

16 Todos *Lm 3.46;Jó 16.10;Sl 22.13os teus inimigos abriram contra ti a sua boca;

assobiam e *Jó 16.9;Sl 35.16;37.12rangem os dentes; dizem: Temo-la *Sl 56.2;124.3;Jr 51.34tragado.

Certamente este é *Ob 12-15o dia que esperávamos, temo-lo achado, temo-lo visto.

17 *Dt 28.15;Jr 4.28;18.11Fez Jeová o que intentou; cumpriu a sua palavra que ordenou nos dias antigos;

derrubou e não *Jr 2.1-2;Ez 5.11;7.8-9;8.18mostrou piedade.

Fez que o inimigo *Sl 35.24,26;89.42;Is 14.29se alegrasse sobre ti, *Lm 1.5;Dt 28.43-44exaltou o poder dos teus adversários.

18 O *Sl 119.145;Os 7.14coração deles clamou ao Senhor: Ó *Lm 2.8;Hc 2.11muro da filha de Sião, *Lm 1.2,16;3.48-49;Sl 119.136;Jr 9.1derrama lágrimas como uma torrente, de dia e de noite;

não te dês descanso; cessem de chorar as meninas dos teus olhos.

19 Levanta-te, clama *Sl 42.3;Is 26.9de noite, no princípio das vigias;

derrama *1Sm 1.15;Sl 42.4;62.8o teu coração como água diante da face do Senhor.

Levanta as tuas mãos a ele pela *Lm 2.11-12vida de teus filhinhos, *Is 51.20que desfalecem de fome nas esquinas de todas as ruas.

20 Vê, Jeová, e considera *Êx 32.11;Dt 9.26;Is 63.16-19;Jr 12.7a quem assim tens tratado!

Acaso, *Lm 4.10;Jr 19.9comerão as mulheres o fruto das suas entranhas, as crianças enfaixadas pelas suas próprias mãos?

Matar-se-ão no santuário do Senhor *Sl 78.64;Jr 14.15;23.11-12o sacerdote e o profeta?

21 Jazem por terra nas ruas *Jr 6.11o moço e o velho;

as minhas *Sl 78.62-63virgens e os meus mancebos caem pela espada.

Tu os *Jr 13.14mataste no dia da tua ira; trucidaste, *Zc 11.6não mostraste piedade.

22 Convocaste, como no dia duma assembleia solene, *Sl 31.13;Is 24.17-18;Jr 6.25os meus terrores de todos os lados.

*Jr 11.11Não houve quem escapasse ou ficasse com vida no dia da ira de Jeová.

Aos *Jr 16.2-4;44.7que enfaixei e criei, consumiu-os o meu inimigo.

1 How has the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger!

He has cast the beauty of Israel down from heaven to the earth,

and hasn’t remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

2 The Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob

without pity.

He has thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah.

He has brought them down to the ground.

He has profaned the kingdom and its princes.

3 He has cut off all the horn of Israel in fierce anger.

He has drawn back his right hand from before the enemy.

He has burned up Jacob like a flaming fire,

which devours all around.

4 He has bent his bow like an enemy.

He has stood with his right hand as an adversary.

He has killed all that were pleasant to the eye.

In the tent of the daughter of Zion, he has poured out his wrath like fire.

5 The Lord has become as an enemy.

He has swallowed up Israel.

He has swallowed up all her palaces.

He has destroyed his strongholds.

He has multiplied mourning and lamentation in the daughter of Judah.

6 He has violently taken away his tabernacle,

as if it were a garden.

He has destroyed his place of assembly.

Yahweh has caused solemn assembly and Sabbath to be forgotten in Zion.

In the indignation of his anger, he has despised the king and the priest.

7 The Lord has cast off his altar.

He has abhorred his sanctuary.

He has given the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy.

They have made a noise in Yahweh’s house,

as in the day of a solemn assembly.

8 Yahweh has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion.

He has stretched out the line.

He has not withdrawn his hand from destroying;

He has made the rampart and wall lament.

They languish together.

9 Her gates have sunk into the ground.

He has destroyed and broken her bars.

Her king and her princes are among the nations where the law is not.

Yes, her prophets find no vision from Yahweh.

10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground.

They keep silence.

They have cast up dust on their heads.

They have clothed themselves with sackcloth.

The virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.

11 My eyes fail with tears.

My heart is troubled.

My bile is poured on the earth,

because of the destruction of the daughter of my people,

because the young children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city.

12 They ask their mothers,

"Where is grain and wine?"

when they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city,

when their soul is poured out into their mothers’ bosom.

13 What shall I testify to you?

What shall I liken to you, daughter of Jerusalem?

What shall I compare to you,

that I may comfort you, virgin daughter of Zion?

For your breach is as big as the sea.

Who can heal you?

14 Your prophets have seen false and foolish visions for you.

They have not uncovered your iniquity,

to reverse your captivity,

but have seen for you false revelations and causes of banishment.

15 All that pass by clap their hands at you.

They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying,

"Is this the city that men called ‘The perfection of beauty,

the joy of the whole earth’?"

16 All your enemies have opened their mouth wide against you.

They hiss and gnash their teeth.

They say, "We have swallowed her up.

Certainly this is the day that we looked for.

We have found it.

We have seen it."

17 Yahweh has done that which he planned.

He has fulfilled his word that he commanded in the days of old.

He has thrown down,

and has not pitied.

He has caused the enemy to rejoice over you.

He has exalted the horn of your adversaries.

18 Their heart cried to the Lord.

O wall of the daughter of Zion,

let tears run down like a river day and night.

Give yourself no relief.

Don’t let your eyes rest.

19 Arise, cry out in the night,

at the beginning of the watches!

Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.

Lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young children,

who faint for hunger at the head of every street.

20 "Look, Yahweh, and see to whom you have done thus!

Should the women eat their offspring,

the children that they held and bounced on their knees?

Should the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?

21 "The youth and the old man lie on the ground in the streets.

My virgins and my young men have fallen by the sword.

You have killed them in the day of your anger.

You have slaughtered, and not pitied.

22 "You have called, as in the day of a solemn assembly, my terrors on every side.

There was no one that escaped or remained in the day of Yahweh’s anger.

My enemy has consumed those whom I have cared for and brought up.
