2 *Êx 20.5Jeová é Deus zeloso e vingador; Jeová *Dt 32.35,41é vingador e cheio de indignação; Jeová toma *Sl 94.1vingança dos seus adversários e reserva indignação para os seus inimigos. 3 Jeová é *Êx 34.6-7tardio em irar-se e grande em poder, e de maneira alguma terá por inocente o culpado; Jeová tem o seu caminho *Is 29.6;Am 1.14no turbilhão e na tempestade, e as *Sl 104.3;Is 19.1nuvens são o pó dos seus pés. 4 Ele *Sl 106.9;Is 50.2repreende o mar, e fá-lo secar, e esgota todos os rios; *Is 33.9Basã desfalece, como também o Carmelo, e a flor do Líbano se murcha. 5 Os montes *Êx 19.18tremem por causa dele, e os outeiros *Mq 1.4se derretem; diante dele, *Is 24.1-20se subleva a terra, sim, *Sl 98.7o mundo e todos os que nele habitam. 6 Quem poderá subsistir na face da sua *Jr 10.10indignação? 9 Que é o que *Na 1.11projetais contra Jeová? Ele vai *Is 28.22destruir duma vez; não se levantará por duas vezes a angústia. 10 Pois, ainda que eles são como *Mq 7.4os espinhos que se entrelaçam e são *Is 56.12ensopados no seu vinho, serão *Is 5.24;10.17de todo consumidos como restolho seco. 11 De ti saiu quem *Na 1.9;Is 10.7-11planeja o mal contra Jeová, quem *Ez 11.2aconselha a maldade. 12 Assim diz Jeová: Embora sejam completos e bem assim numerosos, ainda assim serão *Is 10.16-19,33-34exterminados, e ele passará. Ainda que te hei afligido, *Is 54.7-8;Lm 3.31-33não te afligirei mais. 13 Agora, *Is 9.4;10.27;Jr 2.20quebrarei o seu jugo de sobre ti e romperei as tuas cadeias.

14 Jeová deu ordem a respeito de ti, *Jó 18.17;Sl 109.13;Is 14.21-22;Jr 22.30que não haja mais semente do teu nome; da casa dos teus deuses exterminarei *Is 46.1-2;Mq 5.13-14as imagens esculpidas e as imagens fundidas; farei a tua *Ez 32.22-23sepultura, porque és vil.

15 Eis *Is 40.9;52.7;Rm 10.15sobre os montes os pés do que traz boas-novas, que anuncia paz! *Lv 23.2,4Celebra as tuas festas, ó Judá, cumpre os teus votos, porque *Na 1.11o ímpio *Is 52.1;Jl 3.17não tornará mais a passar por ti; ele é de *Is 29.7-8todo exterminado.

His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him. 7 Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him. 8 But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. 9 What do you plot against Yahweh? He will make a full end. Affliction won’t rise up the second time. 10 For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble. 11 One has gone out of you who devises evil against Yahweh, who counsels wickedness.

12 Yahweh says: "Though they are in full strength and likewise many, even so they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more. 13 Now I will break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds apart."

14 Yahweh has commanded concerning you: "No more descendants will bear your name. Out of the house of your gods, I will cut off the engraved image and the molten image. I will make your grave, for you are vile."

15 Behold,*1:15 "Behold", from "הִנֵּה", means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.
