Provérbios 11

1 A *Pv 20.10,23;Lv 19.35-36;Dt 25.13-16;Mq 6.11balança enganosa é abominação a Jeová,

mas o *Pv 16.11peso justo é o seu agrado.

2 Quando *Pv 16.18;18.12;29.23vem soberba, então, vem afronta;

mas com os humildes está a sabedoria.

3 A *Pv 13.6integridade dos retos os guiará,

mas *Pv 19.3;22.12a perversidade dos ímpios os destruirá.

4 De nada aproveitam *Pv 11.2;Ez 7.19;Sf 1.18as riquezas no dia da indignação,

mas a *Gn 7.1justiça livra da morte.

5 *Pv 3.6A justiça dos perfeitos aplainará os seus caminhos,

mas o *Pv 5.22perverso cairá pela sua perversidade.

6 *Pv 10.9A justiça dos retos os livrará,

mas os ímpios *Sl 7.15-16;9.15;Ec 10.8serão apanhados nos seus desejos.

7 Morrendo o perverso, perecerá *Pv 10.28a sua expectativa,

e a *Jó 8.13-14esperança dos iníquos perece.

8 *Pv 11.6O justo é libertado da angústia,

*Pv 21.18e o perverso toma o lugar dele.

9 *Pv 16.29Com a sua boca, o ímpio destrói o seu vizinho,

mas *Pv 11.6os justos serão livres pelo conhecimento.

10 Quando os justos *Pv 28.12são felizes, exulta a cidade;

e, quando perecem os perversos, há júbilo.

11 Pela bênção dos *Pv 14.34retos exalta-se a cidade,

mas *Pv 14.1derruba-se pela boca dos perversos.

12 *Pv 14.21Quem fala mal do seu vizinho é falto de senso,

mas *Pv 10.19o homem de entendimento se cala.

mas aquele que é fiel de coração *Pv 19.11os encobre.

14 Não havendo *Pv 15.22;20.18;24.6sábia direção, cai o povo;

mas, na multidão de conselheiros, há segurança.

15 Quem serve de *Pv 6.1;27.13fiador por outro será prejudicado,

mas aquele que teme ficar por fiador está seguro.

16 *Pv 31.28,30A mulher graciosa obtêm a honra,

e os homens violentos obtêm a riqueza.

17 O *Mt 5.7;25.34-36homem benigno faz bem à sua alma,

mas quem é cruel faz mal a si mesmo.

19 Quem é fiel na *Pv 10.16;12.28;19.23justiça alcançará a vida,

e *Pv 21.16;Rm 6.23;Tg 1.15aquele que segue o mal, a morte.

20 Os perversos de coração são *Pv 12.22;15.9;17.20abominação a Jeová,

mas os que andam *Pv 13.6;Sl 119.1em integridade são o seu *1Cr 29.17prazer.

21 *Pv 16.5Com certeza o homem mau não escapará ao castigo;

mas a *Pv 14.26;Sl 112.2descendência dos justos será livre.

22 Como *Gn 24.47joia de ouro na tromba dum porco,

assim é a mulher formosa que não tem discrição.

23 O desejo dos justos é somente o bem,

mas a *Pv 10.28;Rm 2.8-9expectativa dos perversos é indignação.

24 Um *Pv 13.7;19.17dá liberalmente, e se lhe acrescenta mais e mais;

outro poupa mais do que é justo, mas se empobrece.

25 *Pv 3.9-10;2Co 9.6-7A alma liberal será próspera;

*Mt 5.7e quem rega também será regado.

26 *Pv 24.24O povo amaldiçoará ao que retém o trigo,

mas *Jó 29.13a bênção virá sobre a cabeça daquele que o *Gn 42.6vende.

27 Quem procura diligentemente o bem chama a si favor;

mas aquele que *Et 7.10;Sl 7.15-16;57.6anda em procura do mal, este lhe sobrevirá.

28 Quem *Sl 49.6;Mc 10.24;1Tm 6.17confia nas suas riquezas cairá,

mas os *Sl 1.3;92.12;Jr 17.8justos reverdecerão como a folhagem.

29 Quem *Pv 15.27perturba a sua casa *Ec 5.16herdará o vento;

e o *Pv 14.19insensato será servo do que é sábio de coração.

30 O fruto do justo é *Pv 3.18árvore de vida;

e *Pv 14.25;Dn 12.3;1Co 9.19-22;Tg 5.20quem é sábio ganha almas.

31 Eis que o *Pv 13.21;2Sm 22.21,25justo será castigado na terra,

quanto mais o perverso e o pecador!

1 A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh,

but accurate weights are his delight.

2 When pride comes, then comes shame,

but with humility comes wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them,

but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.

4 Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath,

but righteousness delivers from death.

5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way,

but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them,

but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.

7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes,

and expectation of power comes to nothing.

8 A righteous person is delivered out of trouble,

and the wicked takes his place.

9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,

but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.

10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices.

When the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted,

but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom,

but a man of understanding holds his peace.

13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence,

but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls,

but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.

15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it,

but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.

16 A gracious woman obtains honor,

but violent men obtain riches.

17 The merciful man does good to his own soul,

but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

18 Wicked people earn deceitful wages,

but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 He who is truly righteous gets life.

He who pursues evil gets death.

20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh,

but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.

21 Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished,

but the offspring*11:21 or, seed of the righteous will be delivered.

22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout,

is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good.

The expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more.

There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat.

He who waters shall be watered also himself.

26 People curse someone who withholds grain,

but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor,

but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.

28 He who trusts in his riches will fall,

but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.

29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind.

The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.

He who is wise wins souls.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth,

how much more the wicked and the sinner!
