Romanos 10

1 Irmãos, a boa vontade do meu coração e a minha súplica a Deus por eles é que sejam salvos. 2 Pois lhes dou testemunho de que têm *At 21.20zelo de Deus, porém não segundo o conhecimento; 3 ignorando *Rm 1.17a justiça de Deus *Is 51.1;Rm 9.31s.;11.7; cp.Rm 9.30;Rm 10.20e procurando estabelecer a sua própria, não se sujeitaram à justiça de Deus. 4 Pois *cp.Gl 3.24;4.5;Rm 7.1-4Cristo é o fim da lei para justificar a *Rm 3.22todo aquele que crê. 5 Moisés escreveu que o homem que pratica a justiça que vem da Lei *Ne 9.29;Ez 20.11,13,21;Rm 7.10viverá por ela. 6 Mas *Rm 9.30a justiça que vem da fé diz assim: Não digas no teu coração: *Dt 30.12s.Quem subirá ao céu (isto é, para trazer do alto a Cristo)? 7 Ou: Quem descerá ao *Lc 8.31abismo (isto é, *Hb 13.20para fazer subir a Cristo dentre os mortos)? 8 Mas que diz? *Dt 30.14A palavra está perto de ti, na tua boca e no teu coração, isto é, a palavra da fé, que pregamos. 9 *Mt 10.32;Lc 12.8; cp.Rm 14.9;1Co 12.3;Fp 2.11Se confessares com a tua boca a Jesus como Senhor *Rm 4.24; cp.At 16.31e creres no teu coração *At 2.24que Deus o ressuscitou dentre os mortos, serás salvo; 10 porque com o coração se crê para a justiça e com a boca se confessa para a salvação. 11 Pois a Escritura diz: *Rm 9.33;Is 28.16Todo o que nele crê não será envergonhado. 12 *Rm 3.22; cp.Rm 3.29Não há distinção entre judeu e grego pois o mesmo *At 10.36Senhor o é de *Rm 3.29todos, rico para com todos que o invocam; 13 porque: *Jl 2.32;At 2.21;7.59Todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo. 14 Como, pois, invocarão aquele em quem não têm crido? E como crerão naquele de *Ef 2.17;4.21quem não têm ouvido falar? 15 E como ouvirão sem *cp.At 8.31;Tt 1.3pregador? E como pregarão, se não forem enviados? Assim, como está escrito: *Is 52.7Quão formosos são os pés dos que *cp.Rm 1.15;15.20anunciam coisas boas!

Israel não pode alegar a falta de oportunidade

16 Mas nem *Rm 3.3todos deram ouvidos ao evangelho. Pois Isaías disse: *Jo 12.38;Is 53.1Senhor, quem creu a nossa mensagem? 17 Logo, a fé vem *cp.Gl 3.2,5pelo ouvir, e o ouvir vem *Cl 3.16pela palavra de Cristo. 18 Mas digo: Porventura, não ouviram? Sim, na verdade:

*Sl 19.4;Cl 1.6,23;1Ts 1.8; cp.Rm 1.8Por toda a terra saiu o som deles,

e as suas palavras, até os confins do mundo.

19 Mas digo: Porventura, Israel não o soube? *Dt 32.21Primeiro disse Moisés:

Eu vos *Rm 11.11,14porei em ciúme com a que não é nação;

eu vos provocarei à ira com uma nação insensata.

20 *Is 65.1Isaías foi muito ousado e disse:

*Rm 9.30Fui achado pelos que não me buscavam;

descobri-me aos que não perguntavam por mim.

21 Mas, quanto a Israel, disse: *Is 65.2Todo o dia estendi as minhas mãos a um povo desobediente e contradizente.

1 Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved. 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the fulfillment*10:4 or, completion, or end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

5 For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, "The one who does them will live by them."✝10:5 Leviticus 18:5 6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’✝10:6 Deuteronomy 30:12 (that is, to bring Christ down); 7 or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’✝10:7 Deuteronomy 30:13 (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)" 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;"✝10:8 Deuteronomy 30:14 that is, the word of faith which we preach: 9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."✝10:11 Isaiah 28:16

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. 13 For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."✝10:13 Joel 2:32 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? 15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace,

who bring glad tidings of good things!"✝10:15 Isaiah 52:7

16 But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"✝10:16 Isaiah 53:1 17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly,

"Their sound went out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world."✝10:18 Psalms 19:4

19 But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says,

"I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation.

I will make you angry with a nation void of understanding."✝10:19 Deuteronomy 32:21

20 Isaiah is very bold and says,

"I was found by those who didn’t seek me.

I was revealed to those who didn’t ask for me."✝10:20 Isaiah 65:1

21 But about Israel he says, "All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people."✝10:21 Isaiah 65:2
