Porque esmagaram Galaad com grades de ferro,4 porei fogo à casa de Hazael, e esse fogo devorará os palácios de Ben-Hadad.5 Quebrarei os ferrolhos de Damasco, exterminarei os habitantes de Biqat-Aven e o que tem na mão o cetro em Bet-Eden. E o povo da Síria será deportado para Quir, diz o Senhor.6 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Gaza, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque deportaram uma multidão de exilados, para entregá-los a Edom,7 porei fogo aos muros de Gaza, e esse fogo devorará os seus palácios.8 Exterminarei os habitantes de Azot, e o que tem na mão o cetro em Ascalon. Voltarei minha mão contra Acaron para aniquilar o resto dos filisteus, diz o Senhor Javé.9 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Tiro, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque entregaram uma multidão de cativos a Edom, e não se lembraram do pacto fraterno,10 porei fogo aos muros de Tiro para que esse fogo devore os seus palácios.11 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Edom, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque perseguiu seu irmão com a espada abafando toda a compaixão, e porque sua cólera não cessa de despedaçar, e persiste em guardar perpetuamente rancor,12 porei fogo em Temã, o qual devorará os palácios de Bosra.13 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime dos amonitas, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque rasgaram os ventres das mulheres grávidas de Galaad, a fim de dilatar suas fronteiras,14 porei fogo aos muros de Rabá, para que devore seus palácios. Em meio aos gritos de guerra no dia da batalha, no meio do turbilhão, no dia da tempestade,15 seu rei irá para o exílio com seus chefes, diz o Senhor.

1 The words of Amos, who was among the pastors of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the pastors shall be destroyed, and the top of Carmel shall wither.3 Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Damascus and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.5 I will also break the bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitants of the plain of Aven and him that holds the sceptre from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir.6 Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Gaza and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver [them] up to Edom:7 but I will send a fire in the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof.8 And I will cut off the inhabitants of Ashdod and him that holds the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Palestinians shall perish, said the Lord GOD.9 Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Tyre and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom and did not remember the brotherly covenant;10 but I will send fire in the wall of Tyre, which shall devour its palaces.11 Thus hath the LORD said: For three transgressions of Edom and for the fourth, I will not convert her because she pursued her brother with the sword and cast off all mercy, and with her anger she stole from him perpetually, and she kept her wrath for ever:12 but I will send fire in Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon and for the fourth, I will not convert her because they have ripped off the mountains of Gilead that they might enlarge their border:14 but I will kindle fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof [as] with shouting in the day of battle, [as] with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;15 and their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, said the LORD.:
