1 Estes são os reis que os israelitas derrotaram, e cujos territórios ocuparam além do Jordão, para o nascente, desde a torrente de Arnon até o monte Hermon, com a planície ao oriente:2 Seon, rei dos amorreus, em Hesebon. Seu domínio estendia-se desde Aroer, à margem da torrente do Arnon, e desde o meio da torrente, sobre a metade de Galaad, até a torrente do Jaboc, fronteira dos amonitas;3 e desde a planície até o mar de Ceneret, ao oriente, e até o mar da Planície, o mar Salgado, para o lado oriental, pelo caminho que vai a Betsimot; e do lado meridional até o pé das encostas do monte Fasga.4 Em seguida a terra de Og, rei de Basã, um dos sobreviventes dos refains, em Astarot e Edrai,5 que reinava sobre a montanha de Hermon, sobre Saleca, sobre todo o Basã até a fronteira dos gessureus e dos macateus, e até o meio de Galaad, limite de Seon, rei de Hesebon.6 Moisés, servo do Senhor, e os filhos de Israel derrotaram-nos; e Moisés, servo do Senhor, deu sua terra aos rubenitas, aos gaditas e à meia tribo de Manassés.7 Estes são os reis da terra que Josué e os israelitas derrotaram aquém do Jordão, para o ocidente, desde Baal-Gal, no vale do Líbano, até a montanha nua que sobe para Seir. Josué deu essa terra em possessão às tribos de Israel, dividindo-a segundo suas famílias,8 tanto na montanha como nas planícies, e sobre as colinas, no deserto e no Negeb, toda a terra dos hiteus, dos amorreus, dos cananeus, dos ferezeus, dos heveus e dos jebuseus.9 Foram eles: o rei de Jericó, o rei de Hai, perto de Betel;10 o rei de Jerusalém, o rei de Hebron,11 o rei de Jerimot, o rei de Laquis,12 o rei de Eglon, o rei de Gaser,13 o rei de Dabir, o rei de Gader,14 o rei de Herma, o rei de Hered,15 o rei de Libna, o rei de Odolão,16 o rei de Maceda, o rei de Betel,17 o rei de Tafna, o rei de Ofer,18 o rei de Afec, o rei de Lasaron,19 o rei de Madon, o rei de Asor,20 o rei de Semeron, o rei de Acsaf,21 o rei de Tanac, o rei de Magedo,22 o rei de Cades, o rei de Jacanã, no Carmelo;23 o rei de Dor, sobre os altos de Dor; o rei de Gojim, em Gálgala;24 o rei de Tersa. 1 And these are the kings of the land whom the children of Israel smote, and whose land they took possession of on the other side of the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Chermon, and all the plain on the east:2 Sichon the king of the Emorites, who dwelt in Cheshbon, and ruled from ‘Aro’er, which is upon the bank of the brook Arnon, and over the land in the middle of the brook, and from half Gil’ad, even unto the brook Yabbok, the boundary of the children of ‘Ammon;3 And over the plain up to the sea of Kinneroth on the east, and up to the sea of the plain, the salt sea on the east, on the way to Beth–hayeshimoth; and at the south, under the declivities of Pisgah;4 And the territory of ‘Og the king of Bashan, who was of the remnant of the Rephaim, that dwelt at ‘Ashtaroth and at Edre’i,5 And reigned over mount Chermon, and over Salchah, and over all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Ma’achathites, and half Gil’ad, to the boundary of Sichon the king of Cheshbon.6 These did Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel smite; and Moses the servant of the Lord gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh.7 And these are the kings of the country whom Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side of the Jordan on the west, from Baal–gad in the valley of Lebanon as far as the bald mountain, that goeth up to Seir; and Joshua gave it unto the tribes of Israel for a possession, according to their divisions;8 In the mountains, and in the lowlands, and in the plain, and in the declivities, and in the wilderness, and in the south country: the Hittites, the Emorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.9 The king of Jericho, one; the king of ‘Ai, which was beside Bethel one;10 The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;11 The king of Yarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;12 The king of ‘Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;13 The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;14 The king of Chormah, one; the king of ‘Arad, one;15 The king of Libnah, one; the king of ‘Adullam, one;16 The king of Makkedah, one; the king of Beth’el, one;17 The king of Tappuach, one; the king of Chepher, one;18 The king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;19 The king of Madon, one; the king of Chazor, one;20 The king of Shimron–meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;21 The king of Ta’anach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;22 The king of Kedesh, one; the king of Yokne’am on Carmel, one;23 The king of Dor in the district of Dor, one; the king of Goyim in Gilgal, one;24 The king of Tirzah, one: in all thirty and one kings.
