1 O Senhor disse a Moisés o seguinte:2 "Faze para ti duas trombetas de prata: faze-as de prata batida. Elas te servirão para convocar a assembléia e para dar o sinal de levantar o acampamento.3 Quando elas soarem, toda a assembléia se reunirá junto de ti, à entrada da tenda de reunião.4 Se se tocar uma só, virão e se juntarão a ti os príncipes, os chefes de milhares em Israel.5 Quando tocardes com força, pôr-se-ão em marcha aqueles que estão acampados ao oriente.6 E quando tocardes com força uma segunda vez, partirão aqueles que estão acampados ao meio-dia; o sinal para a sua partida será um toque estrepitoso.7 Para convocar a assembléia tocareis também, mas não com estrépito.8 São os filhos de Aarão, os sacerdotes, que tocarão as trombetas. É uma lei perpétua para vós e vossos descendentes.9 "Quando na vossa terra sairdes à guerra contra inimigos que vos atacarem, tocareis com força as trombetas, e o Senhor vosso Deus se lembrará de vós, e sereis livres de vossos inimigos.10 Nos vossos dias de alegria, vossas festas e vossas luas novas, tocareis as trombetas, oferecendo os holocaustos e os sacrifícios pacíficos, e elas vos lembrarão à memória de vosso Deus. Eu sou o Senhor vosso Deus."11 No vigésimo dia do segundo mês do segundo ano, levantou-se a nuvem do tabernáculo do testemunho.12 Os israelitas puseram-se em marcha e partiram do deserto do Sinai; e a nuvem parou no deserto de Farã.13 Partiram, pois, pela primeira vez, conforme a ordem do Senhor transmitida por Moisés.14 A bandeira do acampamento dos filhos de Judá partiu em primeiro lugar, seguida de suas tropas; e a tropa de Judá era comandada por Naasson, filho de Aminadab.15 A tropa da tribo dos filhos de Issacar era comandada por Natanael, filho de Suar;16 e a tropa da tribo dos filhos de Zabulon era comandada por Eliab, filho de Helon.17 O tabernáculo foi desmontado, e os filhos de Gérson e de Merari partiram, levando-o.18 Depois partiu a bandeira do acampamento de Rubem, seguida de suas tropas, e seu comandante era Elisur, filho de Sedeur.19 A tropa da tribo dos filhos de Simeão era comandada por Salamiel, filho de Surisadai;20 e a tropa da tribo dos filhos de Gad era comandada por Eliasaf, filho de Duel.21 Os caatitas partiram em seguida, levando os objetos sagrados. E, antes que chegassem, era montado o tabernáculo.22 A bandeira do acampamento dos filhos de Efraim partiu, seguida de suas tropas; e a tropa de Efraim era comandada por Elisama, filho de Amiud.23 A tropa da tribo dos filhos de Manassés era comandada por Gamaliel, filho de Fadassur;24 e a tropa da tribo de Benjamim era comandada por Abidão, filho de Gedeão.25 A bandeira do acampamento dos filhos de Dã, que formavam a retaguarda de todos os acampamentos, partiu, seguida de suas tropas. A tropa de Dã era comandada por Aieser, filho de Amisadai.26 A tropa da tribo dos filhos de Aser era comandada por Fegiel, filho Ocrã;27 e a tropa dos filhos de Neftali era comandada por Aira, filho de Enã.28 Esta foi a ordem de marcha dos israelitas, divididos em tropas, quando levantaram acampamento.29 Moisés disse a Hobab, filho de Raguel, o madianita, seu sogro: "Nós partimos para o lugar que o Senhor nos prometeu dar. Vem conosco, e far-te-emos bem, porque o Senhor prometeu fazer bem a Israel."30 Hobab, porém, respondeu-lhe: "Não irei contigo, mas voltarei para a minha terra e para junto de minha família".31 Moisés replicou: "Rogo-te que não te separes de nós. Conheces os lugares onde podemos acampar no deserto, e nos servirás de guia.32 Se vieres conosco, dividiremos contigo os bens que o Senhor nos der."33 Partiram da montanha do Senhor e caminharam três dias. Durante esses três dias de marcha, a arca da aliança do Senhor os precedia, para lhes escolher um lugar de repouso.34 A nuvem do Senhor estava sobre eles de dia, quando partiam do acampamento.35 Quando a arca se levantava, Moisés dizia: "Levantai-vos, Senhor, e sejam dispersos os vossos inimigos! Fujam de vossa face os que vos aborrecem!"36 Quando, porém, se detinha, dizia: "Voltai, Senhor, para as miríades de milhares de Israel!
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,2 Make unto thyself two trumpets of silver, beaten out of one piece shalt thou make them; and they shall serve thee for the calling of the congregation, and for the setting forward of the camps.3 And when they shall blow with both, all the congregation shall assemble themselves unto thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.4 And if they blow with but one, then shall assemble themselves unto thee the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel.5 And when ye blow an alarm, then shall set forward the camps that encamp on the east side.6 And when ye blow an alarm the second time, then shall set forward the camps that encamp on the south side: an alarm shall they blow for their setting forward.7 But at the assembling of the assembly, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.9 And if ye go to war in your land against the oppressor that oppresseth you, then shall ye blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.10 And on the day of your gladness, and on your appointed festivals, and on the beginnings of your months, shall ye blow with the trumpets over your burntofferings, and over the sacrifices of your peaceofferings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.11 And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.12 And the children of Israel set forward on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud halted in the wilderness of Paran.13 And they set forward for the first time at the order of the Lord by the hand of Moses.14 And the standard of the camp of the children of Judah set forward at the first, according to their armies: and over their host was Nachshon the son of Amminadab.15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Chelon.17 And in the mean time the tabernacle was taken down; and then set forward the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, the bearers of the tabernacle.18 Then set forward the standard of the camp of Reuben, according to their armies: and over their host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Elyassaph the son of Deuel.21 And then set forward the Kehathites, the bearers of the sanctuary: and the others set up the tabernacle against they came.22 Then set forward the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim according to their armies; and over their host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Menasseh was Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gidoni.25 Then set forward the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, the rereward of all the camps, according to their hosts: and over their host was Achiezer the son of Ammishaddai.26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ochran.27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Achira the son of Enan.28 In this order were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.29 And Moses said unto Chobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, the fatherinlaw of Moses, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord hath said, This will I give unto you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the Lord hath spoken to bring good upon Israel.30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but to my own land, and to my birthplace will I go.31 And he said, Do not, I pray thee, leave us; since thou didst find out the places where we were to encamp in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us instead of eyes.32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that the same goodness which the Lord may do unto us, will we do unto thee.33 And they set forward from the mount of the Lord a three days journey; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days journey, to search out for them a restingplace.34 And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thy enemies be scattered; and let those that hate thee flee before thy face.36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, among thy myriads of the thousands of Israel.
