Judges 13

1 The children of Israel again did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight; and Yahweh delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

2 There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and childless. 3 Yahweh’s angel appeared to the woman, and said to her, "See now, you are barren and childless; but you shall conceive and bear a son. 4 Now therefore please beware and drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing; 5 for, behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines."

6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, "A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name; 7 but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink. Don’t eat any unclean thing, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’"

8 Then Manoah entreated Yahweh, and said, "Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us, and teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born."

9 God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but Manoah, her husband, wasn’t with her. 10 The woman hurried and ran, and told her husband, saying to him, "Behold, the man who came to me that day has appeared to me."

11 Manoah arose and followed his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, "Are you the man who spoke to my wife?"

He said, "I am."

12 Manoah said, "Now let your words happen. What shall the child’s way of life and mission be?"

13 Yahweh’s angel said to Manoah, "Of all that I said to the woman let her beware. 14 She may not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing. Let her observe all that I commanded her."

15 Manoah said to Yahweh’s angel, "Please stay with us, that we may make a young goat ready for you."

16 Yahweh’s angel said to Manoah, "Though you detain me, I won’t eat your bread. If you will prepare a burnt offering, you must offer it to Yahweh." For Manoah didn’t know that he was Yahweh’s angel.

17 Manoah said to Yahweh’s angel, "What is your name, that when your words happen, we may honor you?"

18 Yahweh’s angel said to him, "Why do you ask about my name, since it is incomprehensible*13:18 or, wonderful?"

19 So Manoah took the young goat with the meal offering, and offered it on the rock to Yahweh. Then the angel did an amazing thing as Manoah and his wife watched. 20 For when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, Yahweh’s angel ascended in the flame of the altar. Manoah and his wife watched; and they fell on their faces to the ground. 21 But Yahweh’s angel didn’t appear to Manoah or to his wife any more. Then Manoah knew that he was Yahweh’s angel. 22 Manoah said to his wife, "We shall surely die, because we have seen God."

23 But his wife said to him, "If Yahweh were pleased to kill us, he wouldn’t have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, and he wouldn’t have shown us all these things, nor would he have told us such things as these at this time." 24 The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him. 25 Yahweh’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Vestirea nașterii lui Samson

1 Copiii lui Israel au făcut iarăși*Cap. 2:11;3:7;4:1;6:1;10:6. ce nu plăcea Domnului, și Domnul i-a dat în mâinile*1 Sam. 12:9. filistenilor timp de patruzeci de ani. 2 Era un om în Țorea*Ios. 19:41., din familia daniților, care se chema Manoah. Nevastă-sa era stearpă și nu năștea. 3 Îngerul*Cap. 6:12.Luca 1:11,13,28,31. Domnului S-a arătat femeii și i-a zis: „Iată că tu ești stearpă și n-ai copii, dar vei rămâne însărcinată și vei naște un fiu. 4 Acum, ia bine seama să nu bei*Vers. 14.Num. 6:2,3.Luca 1:15. nici vin, nici băutură tare și să nu mănânci nimic necurat. 5 Căci vei rămâne însărcinată și vei naște un fiu. Briciul*Num. 6:5.1 Sam. 1:11. nu va trece peste capul lui, pentru că acest copil va fi închinat*Num. 6:2. lui Dumnezeu din pântecele mamei lui și el va începe să*1 Sam. 7:13.2 Sam. 8:1.1 Cron. 18:1. izbăvească pe Israel din mâna filistenilor." 6 Femeia s-a dus și a spus bărbatului ei: „Un om*Deut. 33:1.1 Sam. 2:27;9:6.1 Împ. 17:24. al lui Dumnezeu a venit la mine și avea înfățișarea*Mat. 28:3.Luca 9:29.Fapte 6:15. unui înger al lui Dumnezeu, o înfățișare înfricoșată. Nu L-am întrebat*Vers. 17,18. de unde este și nici nu mi-a spus care-I este numele. 7 Dar mi-a zis: ‘Tu vei rămâne însărcinată și vei naște un fiu; și acum să nu bei nici vin, nici băutură tare și să nu mănânci nimic necurat, pentru că acest copil va fi închinat lui Dumnezeu din pântecele maicii lui până în ziua morții lui.’"

Îngerul Se arată din nou

8 Manoah a făcut Domnului următoarea rugăciune: „Doamne, Te rog, să mai vină o dată la noi omul lui Dumnezeu pe care L-ai trimis și să ne învețe ce să facem pentru copilul care se va naște!" 9 Dumnezeu a ascultat rugăciunea lui Manoah și Îngerul lui Dumnezeu a venit iarăși la femeie. Ea ședea într-un ogor și Manoah, bărbatul ei, nu era cu ea. 10 Ea a alergat repede să dea de veste bărbatului ei și i-a zis: „Iată că omul care venise în cealaltă zi la mine mi S-a arătat iarăși." 11 Manoah s-a sculat, a mers după nevastă-sa, s-a dus la omul acela și i-a zis: „Tu ai vorbit femeii acesteia?" El a răspuns: „Eu." 12 Manoah a zis: „Acum, dacă se va împlini cuvântul Tău, ce va trebui să păzim cu privire la copil și ce va fi de făcut?" 13 Îngerul Domnului a răspuns lui Manoah: „Femeia să se ferească de tot ce i-am spus. 14 Să nu guste niciun rod din viță, să nu bea nici vin*Vers. 4., nici băutură tare și să nu mănânce nimic necurat; să păzească tot ce i-am poruncit." 15 Manoah a zis Îngerului Domnului: „Îngăduie-mi să Te opresc*Gen. 18:5. Cap. 6:18. și să-Ți pregătesc un ied." 16 Îngerul Domnului a răspuns lui Manoah: „Chiar dacă M-ai opri, n-aș mânca din bucatele tale; dar dacă vrei să aduci o ardere-de-tot, s-o aduci Domnului." Manoah nu știa că este Îngerul Domnului. 17 Și Manoah a zis Îngerului Domnului: „Care-Ți este numele, ca să-Ți aducem slavă, când se va împlini cuvântul Tău?" 18 Îngerul Domnului i-a răspuns: „Pentru ce*Gen. 32:29. Îmi ceri Numele? El este Minunat." 19 Manoah a luat iedul și darul de mâncare și a adus*Cap. 6:19,20. jertfă Domnului pe stâncă. S-a făcut o minune în timp ce Manoah și nevastă-sa priveau. 20 Pe când flacăra se suia de pe altar spre cer, Îngerul Domnului S-a suit în flacăra altarului. Văzând lucrul acesta, Manoah și nevastă-sa au căzut*Lev. 9:24.1 Cron. 21:16.Ezec. 1:28.Mat. 17:6. cu fața la pământ. 21 Îngerul Domnului nu S-a mai arătat lui Manoah și nevestei lui. Atunci*Cap. 6:22., Manoah a înțeles că este Îngerul Domnului 22 și a zis nevestei sale: „Vom muri*Gen. 32:30.Exod 33:20.Deut. 5:26. Cap. 6:22., căci am văzut pe Dumnezeu." 23 Nevastă-sa i-a răspuns: „Dacă ar fi vrut Domnul să ne omoare, n-ar fi primit din mâinile noastre arderea-de-tot și darul de mâncare, nu ne-ar fi arătat toate acestea și nu ne-ar fi făcut să auzim acum asemenea lucruri."

Nașterea lui Samson

24 Femeia a născut un fiu și i-a pus numele Samson*Evr. 11:32.. Copilul*1 Sam. 3:19.Luca 1:80;2:52. a crescut și Domnul l-a binecuvântat. 25 Și Duhul*Cap. 3:10.1 Sam. 11:6.Mat. 4:1. Domnului a început să-l miște la Mahane-Dan, între*Ios. 15:33. Cap. 18:11. Țorea și Eștaol.
