1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,2 Dominion and fear are with him, he makes peace in his high places.3 Is there any number of his armies? and on whom does not his light arise?4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?5 Behold even to the moon, and it shines not; yes, the stars are not pure in his sight.6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

1 E BILDAD Suhita rispose, e disse:2 La signoria, e lo spavento, è con lui; Egli fa in pace ciò che gli piace ne’ suoi cieli altissimi.3 Le sue schiere si posson esse annoverare? E sopra cui non si leva la sua luce?4 Ma come sarà giusto l’uomo appo Iddio? E come sarà puro colui ch’è nato di donna?5 Ecco, fino alla luna non sarà pura, e non risplenderà; E le stelle non saranno pure nel suo cospetto.6 Quanto meno l’uomo, che è un verme, E il figliuol dell’uomo, che è un vermicello?
