28 După ce a vorbit astfel, Isus a pornit în frunte şi Se suia spre Ierusalim.

29 Cînd S'a apropiat de Betfaghe şi de Betania, înspre muntele numit al Măslinilor, Isus a trimes pe doi din ucenicii Săi,

30 şi le -a zis: ,,Duceţi-vă în satul dinaintea voastră. Cînd veţi intra în el, veţi găsi un măgăruş legat, pe care n'a încălecat nimeni niciodată: deslegaţi -l, şi aduceţi-Mi -l.

31 Dacă vă va întreba cineva: ,Pentruce -l deslegaţi? să -i spuneţi aşa: ,Pentrucă Domnul are trebuinţă de el.

32 Ceice fuseseră trimeşi, s'au dus şi au găsit aşa cum le spusese Isus.

33 Pe cînd deslegau măgăruşul, stăpînii lui le-au zis: ,,Pentruce deslegaţi măgăruşul?

34 Ei au răspuns: ,,Domnul are trebuinţă de el.

35 Şi au adus măgăruşul la Isus. Apoi şi-au aruncat hainele pe el, şi au aşezat pe Isus, călare deasupra.

36 Pe cînd mergea Isus, oamenii îşi aşterneau hainele pe drum.

37 Şi cînd S'a apropiat de Ierusalim, spre pogorîşul muntelui Măslinilor, toată mulţimea ucenicilor, plină de bucurie, a început să laude pe Dumnezeu cu glas tare pentru toate minunile, pe cari le văzuseră.

38 Ei ziceau: ,,Binecuvîntat este Împăratul care vine în Numele Domnului! Pace în cer, şi slavă în locurile prea înalte!

39 Unii Farisei, din norod, au zis lui Isus: ,,Învăţătorule, ceartă-Ţi ucenicii!

40 Şi El a răspuns: ,,Vă spun că, dacă vor tăcea ei, pietrele vor striga.

28 And having said these things, he went on before, going up to Jerusalem.

29 And it came to pass, as he came nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, unto the mount called of the Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

30 having said, Go away to the village over-against, in which, entering into, ye shall find a colt bound, on which no one of men did ever sit, having loosed it, bring [it];

31 and if any one doth question you, Wherefore do ye loose [it]? thus ye shall say to him -- The Lord hath need of it.

32 And those sent, having gone away, found according as he said to them,

33 and while they are loosing the colt, its owners said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

34 and they said, The Lord hath need of it;

35 and they brought it unto Jesus, and having cast their garments upon the colt, they did set Jesus upon it.

36 And as he is going, they were spreading their garments in the way,

37 and as he is coming nigh now, at the descent of the mount of the Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began rejoicing to praise God with a great voice for all the mighty works they had seen,

38 saying, blessed [is] he who is coming, a king in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

39 And certain of the Pharisees from the multitude said unto him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples;

40 and he answering said to them, I say to you, that, if these shall be silent, the stones will cry out!
