1 犹大王乌西雅、约坦、亚哈斯、希西家在位的时候， 也是约阿施的儿子以色列王耶罗波安执政的时候， 耶和华的话临到备利的儿子何西阿。
2 耶和华初次借着何西阿说话。耶和华对何西阿说： "你去娶一个像娼妓一样的女人， 生养像娼妓一样的儿女， 因为这地盛行淫乱， 离开了耶和华。"
3 于是他就去娶了滴拉音的女儿歌玛。后来， 她怀了孕， 给他生了一个儿子。
4 耶和华就对何西阿说： "给他起名叫耶斯列； 因为不久我就要惩罚耶户家在耶斯列流人血的罪， 我要灭绝以色列家的国。
5 "到那日， 我要在耶斯列平原折断以色列的弓。"
6 后来， 歌玛又怀孕， 生了一个女儿。耶和华对何西阿说： "给她起名叫罗．路哈玛（"罗．路哈玛"意即"不蒙怜恤"）； 因为我必不再怜恤以色列家， 我决不赦免他们。
7 "但我要怜恤犹大家， 使他们靠耶和华他们的 神得救。我要拯救他们， 并不是靠弓、靠刀、靠兵器， 也不是靠战马、靠骑兵。"
8 罗．路哈玛断奶之后， 歌玛又怀孕生了一个儿子。
9 耶和华说： "给他起名叫罗．阿米（"罗．阿米"意即"非我民"）； 因为你们不是我的子民， 我也不是你们的 神。
10 "然而， 以色列人的数目， 必多如海边的沙， 量不尽， 数不完。从前在什么地方对他们说： ‘你们不是我的子民’， 将来要在那里对他们说： ‘你们是永活的 神的儿子。’
11 犹大人和以色列人要聚集在一起， 为自己立一位首领， 并离开那地上去， 因为耶斯列的日子必为大日。"（本章第10-11节在《马索拉抄本》为2:1-2）
1 The word of Jehovah that came unto Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 When Jehovah spake at the first by Hosea, Jehovah said unto Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredom and children of whoredom; for the land doth commit great whoredom, departing from Jehovah. 3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived, and bare him a son. 4 And Jehovah said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease. 5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel. 6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And Jehovah said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them. 7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by Jehovah their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen. 8 Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. 9 And Jehovah said, Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.
10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. 11 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up from the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
