Atos 16 - Bíblia Online

And he came to Derbe and Lystra: and behold, a certain disciple was there, by name Timotheus, son of a Jewish believing woman, but {the} father a Greek, 
who had a {good} testimony of the brethren in Lystra and Iconium. 
Him would Paul have go forth with him, and took {him and} circumcised him on account of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew his father that he was a Greek. 
And as they passed through the cities they instructed them to observe the decrees determined on by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem. 
The assemblies therefore were confirmed in the faith, and increased in number every day. 
And having passed through Phrygia and the Galatian country, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia, 
having come down to Mysia, they attempted to go to Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them; 
and having passed by Mysia they descended to Troas. 
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There was a certain Macedonian man, standing and beseeching him, and saying, Pass over into Macedonia and help us. 
And when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go forth to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to announce to them the glad tidings. 
Having sailed therefore away from Troas, we went in a straight course to Samothracia, and on the morrow to Neapolis, 
and thence to Philippi, which is {the} first city of that part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city certain days. 
And on the sabbath day we went outside the gate by the river, where it was the custom for prayer to be, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had assembled. 
And a certain woman, by name Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, who worshipped God, heard; whose heart the Lord opened to attend to the things spoken by Paul. 
And when she had been baptised and her house, she besought {us}, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and abide {there}. And she constrained us. 
And it came to pass as we were going to prayer that a certain female slave, having a spirit of Python, met us, who brought much profit to her masters by prophesying. 
She, having followed Paul and us, cried saying, These men are bondmen of the Most High God, who announce to you {the} way of salvation. 
And this she did many days. And Paul, being distressed, turned, and said to the spirit, I enjoin thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And it came out the same hour. 
And her masters, seeing that the hope of their gains was gone, having seized Paul and Silas, dragged {them} into the market before the magistrates; 
and having brought them up to the praetors, said, These men utterly trouble our city, being Jews, 
and announce customs which it is not lawful for us to receive nor practise, being Romans. 
And the crowd rose up too against them; and the praetors, having torn off their clothes, commanded to scourge {them}. 
And having laid many stripes upon them they cast {them} into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely; 
who, having received such a charge, cast them into the inner prison, and secured their feet to the stocks. 
And at midnight Paul and Silas, in praying, were praising God with singing, and the prisoners listened to them. 
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison shook, and all the doors were immediately opened, and the bonds of all loosed. 
And the jailor being awakened out of his sleep, and seeing the doors of the prison opened, having drawn a sword was going to kill himself, thinking the prisoners had fled. 
But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here. 
And having asked for lights, he rushed in, and, trembling, fell down before Paul and Silas. 
And leading them out said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved? 
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house. 
And they spoke to him the word of the Lord, with all that were in his house. 
And he took them the same hour of the night and washed {them} from their stripes; and was baptised, he and all his straightway. 
And having brought them into his house he laid the table {for them}, and rejoiced with all his house, having believed in God. 
And when it was day, the praetors sent the lictors, saying, Let those men go. 
And the jailor reported these words to Paul: The praetors have sent that ye may be let go. Now therefore go out and depart in peace. 
But Paul said to them, Having beaten us publicly uncondemned, us who are Romans, they have cast us into prison, and now they thrust us out secretly? no, indeed, but let them come themselves and bring us out. 
And the lictors reported these words to the praetors. And they were afraid when they heard they were Romans. 
And they came and besought them, and having brought them out, asked them to go out of the city. 
And having gone out of the prison, they came to Lydia; and having seen the brethren, they exhorted them and went away. 

Ja ta saabus Derbesse ja Lüstrasse. Ja vaata, seal oli üks jünger, Timoteos nimi, uskliku juudi naise poeg; aga ta isa oli kreeklane. 
Sellele andsid Lüstras ja Ikoonionis olijad vennad hea tunnistuse. 
Teda tahtis Paulus enesele saatjaks teele. Ja ta võttis ning lõikas ta ümber juutide pärast, kes olid neis paigus; sest nad teadsid kõik, et tema isa oli kreeklane. 
Aga kui nad käisid linnast linna, käskisid nad usklikke pidada neid seadmisi, mis Apostlid ja vanemad Jeruusalemmas olid otsustanud. 
Siis kinnitati kogudusi usus ja liikmete arv kasvas päev-päevalt. 
Ja nemad käisid läbi Früügia- ja Galaatiamaa, sest Püha Vaim oli neid keelanud sõna rääkimast Aasias. 
Jõudes Müüsiani üritasid nad matkata Bitüüniasse, kuid Jeesuse Vaim ei lasknud neid mitte. 
Siis nad läksid mööda Müüsiast ja tulid alla Troasse. 
Ja Paulus nägi öösel nägemuse: Makedoonia mees seisis ja palus teda ning ütles: „Tule alla Makedooniasse ja aita meid!" 
Kui ta seda nägemust oli näinud, siis me püüdsime kohe välja minna Makedooniasse ja me olime julged selles, et Issand meid oli kutsunud neile Evangeeliumi kuulutama. 
Me läksime Troast teele ja tulime otsekohe Samotraakesse ja järgmisel päeval Neapolisse 
ja sealt Filipisse, mis on esimesi linnu tolles Makedoonia osas, asulinn. Sinna linna me jäime peatama mõneks päevaks. 
Ja hingamispäeval me läksime linnast välja jõe äärde, kus neil oli kombeks käia palvusel, ja istusime maha ning kõnelesime naistele, kes olid kokku tulnud. 
Ja ka üks jumalakartlik naine, nimega Lüüdia, purpurimüüja Tüatiira linnast, kuulas jutlust. Tema südame avas Issand, et ta pani tähele seda, mida Paulus rääkis. 
Aga kui tema ja ta pere olid ristitud, palus ta meid ning ütles: „Kui te arvate, et ma olen saanud usklikuks Issandasse, siis tulge mu kotta ja jääge sinna!" Ja ta käis meile peale. 
Aga sündis, kui me läksime palvusele, et meile tuli vastu tüdruk, kellel oli lausuja vaim. See tõi oma isandaile palju kasu lausumisega. 
Tema tuli Paulusele ja meile järele, kisendas ning ütles: „Need inimesed on Kõigekõrgema Jumala sulased, kes teile kuulutavad õndsuse teed!" 
Ja seda ta tegi mitu päeva. Aga Paulusel oli sellepärast meel haige, ja ta pöördus ümber ning ütles vaimule: „Ma käsin sind Jeesuse Kristuse nimel välja minna tema seest!" Ja vaim läks välja samal tunnil. 
Aga kui tüdruku isandad nägid, et nende kasu lootus oli lõppenud, võtsid nad Pauluse ja Siilase kinni ja vedasid nad turule ülemate juurde. 
Ja nad viisid nad pealikute ette ning ütlesid: „Need inimesed teevad meie linna rahutuks ja nad on juudid! 
Nad kuulutavad kombeid, mida meil kui roomlasil ei sünni vastu võtta ega täita!" 
Ja rahvas tõusis nende vastu. Ja pealikud käskisid kiskuda nende riided seljast ja neid vitstega peksta. 
Ja kui nad neile olid palju hoope andnud, viskasid nad nemad vanglasse ja käskisid vangihoidjal neid hoolsasti valvata. 
Niisuguse kange käsu saanud, heitis ta nad kõige kindlamasse vangihoonesse ja pani nende jalad pakku. 
Aga keskööl palvetasid Paulus ja Siilas ning kiitsid lauldes Jumalat. Ja vangid kuulsid neid. 
Siis äkitselt sündis suur maavärisemine, nii et vangihoone alused vabisesid; ja sedamaid läksid kõik uksed lahti, ka kõikide köidikud pääsesid valla. 
Kui nüüd vangihoidja unest ärkas ja nägi vangitorni uksed avatud olevat, tõmbas ta mõõga ja tahtis enesele otsa teha, sest ta mõtles, et vangid on ära karanud. 
Aga Paulus hüüdis suure häälega ning ütles: „Ära tee enesele kurja, sest me oleme kõik siin!" 
Siis ta küsis tuld, kargas sisse, heitis värisedes Pauluse ja Siilase ette maha, 
tõi nad ka välja ning ütles: „Isandad, mis ma pean tegema, et ma õndsaks saaksin?" 
Aga nemad ütlesid: „Usu Issandasse Jeesusesse, siis saad õndsaks sina ja su pere!" 
Ja nad kuulutasid temale Issanda sõna ja kõigile, kes olid tema kojas. 
Tema võttis nad sel öötunnil enese juurde ja pesi nende haavad. Ja ta ristiti sedamaid ja kõik tema pere. 
Siis ta viis nad oma kotta, tõi toitu lauale ja oli väga rõõmus, et ta kogu oma perega oli saanud usklikuks Jumalasse. 
Kui valgeks läks, läkitasid pealikud kohtusulased ütlema: „Lase need inimesed lahti!" 
Siis vangihoidja teatas need sõnad Paulusele, öeldes: „Pealikud on siia läkitanud sõna, et teid tuleb lahti lasta; seepärast väljuge nüüd ja minge rahuga!" 
Aga Paulus ütles neile: „Nad on meid avalikult peksnud ilma kohut mõistmata, ja me oleme Rooma kodanikud; nad on meid heitnud vangitorni ja nüüd nad tahavad meid salaja välja lükata. Nõnda ei tohi olla! Vaid tulgu nad ise ja saatku meid välja!" 
Kohtusulased teatasid need sõnad pealikuile. Need lõid kartma, kui nad kuulsid neid Rooma kodanikud olevat. 
Ja nad tulid ning rääkisid nendega lahkesti, tõid nad välja vangist ja palusid neid linnast ära minna. 
Siis nad tulid vanglast välja ja läksid Lüüdia juurde. Ja kui nad olid vendi näinud, siis nad kinnitasid neid ja läksid ära.
