1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto all the assembly of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Holy shall ye be, for I Jehovah your God am holy.
3 Ye shall reverence every man his mother, and his father, and my sabbaths shall ye keep: I am Jehovah your God.
4 Ye shall not turn unto idols, and ye shall not make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God.
5 And if ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah, ye shall sacrifice it for your acceptance.
6 On the day when ye sacrifice it shall it be eaten, and on the morrow; and that which remaineth until the third day shall be burned with fire.
7 And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an unclean thing: it shall not be accepted.
8 And he that eateth it shall bear his iniquity; for he hath profaned the hallowed thing of Jehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his peoples.
9 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou shalt not gather.
10 And thy vineyard shalt thou not glean, neither shalt thou gather what hath been left of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am Jehovah your God.
11 Ye shall not steal, and ye shall not deal falsely, and ye shall not lie one to another.
12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.
13 Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbour, neither rob him. The wages of the hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Thou shalt not revile a deaf person, and thou shalt not put a stumbling-block before a blind one; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.
15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the lowly, nor honour the person of the great; in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Thou shalt not go about as a talebearer among thy people; thou shalt not stand up against the life of thy neighbour: I am Jehovah.
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou shalt earnestly rebuke thy neighbour, lest thou bear sin on account of him.
18 Thou shalt not avenge thyself, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am Jehovah.
19 My statutes shall ye observe. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with another sort; thou shalt not sow thy field with seed of two sorts; and a garment woven of two materials shall not come upon thee.
20 And if a man lie with a woman for copulation, and she is a bondwoman betrothed to a husband, but not at all ransomed, nor hath freedom been given to her, there shall be a chastisement: they shall not be put to death, for she was not free.
21 And he shall bring his trespass-offering to Jehovah, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, a ram for a trespass-offering.
22 And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath done; and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.
23 And when ye come into the land and plant all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count its fruit as uncircumcised, three years shall it be uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of;
24 and in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy for praise to Jehovah;
25 and in the fifth year shall ye eat the fruit thereof, that it may increase unto you the produce thereof: I am Jehovah your God.
26 Ye shall eat nothing with the blood. -Ye shall not practise enchantment, nor use auguries.
27 -Ye shall not shave the corners of your head round, neither shalt thou mutilate the corners of thy beard.
28 And cuttings for a dead person shall ye not make in your flesh, nor put any tattoo writing upon you: I am Jehovah.
29 -Do not profane thy daughter, to give her up to whoredom; lest the land practise whoredom, and the land become full of infamy.
30 -My sabbaths shall ye keep, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.
31 -Turn not unto necromancers and unto soothsayers; seek not after them to make yourselves unclean: I am Jehovah your God.
32 Before the hoary head thou shalt rise up, and shalt honour the face of an old man; and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah.
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not molest him.
34 As one born among you shall the stranger who sojourneth with you be unto you; and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measure of length, in weight, and in measure of capacity:
36 just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.
1 L'Eternel parla aussi à Moïse, en disant :
2 Parle à toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël, et leur dis : Soyez saints; car je suis saint, moi l'Eternel votre Dieu.
3 Vous craindrez chacun sa mère et son père, et vous garderez mes Sabbats; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
4 Vous ne vous tournerez point vers les idoles, et ne vous ferez aucuns dieux de fonte; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
5 Si vous offrez un sacrifice de prospérités à l'Eternel, vous le sacrifierez de votre bon gré.
6 II se mangera au jour que vous l'aurez sacrifié, et le lendemain, mais ce qui restera jusqu'au troisième jour, sera brûlé au feu.
7 Que si on en mange au troisième jour, ce sera une abomination; il ne sera point agréé.
8 Quiconque aussi en mangera, portera son iniquité; car il aura profané la chose sainte de l'Eternel; et cette personne-là sera retranchée d'entre ses peuples.
9 Et quand vous ferez la moisson de votre terre, tu n'achèveras point de moissonner le bout de ton champ, et tu ne glaneras point ce qui restera à cueillir de ta moisson.
10 Et tu ne grappilleras point ta vigne, ni ne recueilleras point les grains [tombés] de ta vigne, mais tu les laisseras au pauvre et à l'étranger; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
11 Vous ne déroberez point, ni ne dénierez point [la chose à qui elle appartient]; et aucun de vous ne mentira à son prochain.
12 Vous ne jurerez point par mon Nom en mentant; car tu profanerais le Nom de ton Dieu; je suis l'Eternel.
13 Tu n'opprimeras point ton prochain, et tu ne le pilleras point. Le salaire de ton mercenaire ne demeurera point par devers toi jusqu'au matin.
14 Tu ne maudiras point le sourd, et tu ne mettras point d'achoppement devant l'aveugle, mais tu craindras ton Dieu; je suis l'Eternel.
15 Vous ne ferez point d'iniquité en jugement; tu n'auras point d'égard à la personne du pauvre, et tu n'honoreras point la personne du grand, [mais] tu jugeras justement ton prochain.
16 Tu n'iras point médisant parmi ton peuple. Tu ne t'élèveras point contre le sang de ton prochain; je suis l'Eternel.
17 Tu ne haïras point ton frère en ton cœur. Tu reprendras soigneusement ton prochain, et tu ne souffriras point de péché en lui.
18 Tu n'useras point de vengeance, et tu ne la garderas point aux enfants de ton peuple; mais tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même; je suis l'Eternel.
19 Vous garderez mes ordonnances. Tu n'accoupleras point tes bêtes avec d'autres de diverse espèce. Tu ne sèmeras point ton champ de diverses sortes de grains, et tu ne mettras point sur toi de vêtements de diverses espèces, [comme] de laine et de lin.
20 Si un homme a couché avec une femme, laquelle étant esclave fut fiancée à un homme, et qu'elle n'ait pas été rachetée, et que la liberté ne lui ait pas été donnée, ils auront le fouet; [mais] on ne les fera point mourir; parce qu'elle n'avait pas été affranchie.
21 Et l'homme amènera son [offrande pour le] délit à l'Eternel à l'entrée du Tabernacle d'assignation, [savoir] un bélier pour le délit.
22 Et le Sacrificateur fera propitiation pour lui devant l'Eternel par le bélier de [l'offrande pour le] délit, à cause de son péché qu'il aura commis; et son péché qu'il aura commis lui sera pardonné.
23 Et quand vous serez entrés au pays, et que vous y aurez planté quelque arbre fruitier, vous tiendrez son fruit pour son prépuce; il vous sera incirconcis pendant trois ans, et on n'en mangera point.
24 Mais en la quatrième année tout son fruit sera une chose sainte, pour en louer l'Eternel.
25 Et en la cinquième année vous mangerez son fruit, afin qu'il vous multiplie son rapport; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
26 Vous ne mangerez rien avec le sang. Vous n'userez point de divinations, et vous ne pronostiquerez point le temps.
27 Vous ne tondrez point en rond les coins de votre tête, et vous ne gâterez point les coins de votre barbe.
28 Vous ne ferez point d'incisions dans votre chair pour un mort, et vous n'imprimerez point de caractère sur vous; je suis l'Eternel.
29 Tu ne souilleras point ta fille en la prostituant pour la faire paillarder; afin que la terre ne soit point souillée par la paillardise, et ne soit point remplie d'énormité.
30 Vous garderez mes Sabbats, et vous aurez en révérence mon Sanctuaire; je suis l'Eternel.
31 Ne vous détournez point après ceux qui ont l'esprit de Python, ni après les devins; ne cherchez point de vous souiller par eux; je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
32 Lève-toi devant les cheveux blancs, et honore la personne du vieillard, et crains ton Dieu; je suis l'Eternel.
33 Si quelque étranger habite en votre pays, vous ne lui ferez point de tort.
34 L'étranger qui habite parmi vous, vous sera comme celui qui est né parmi vous, et vous l'aimerez comme vous-mêmes; car vous avez été étrangers au pays d'Egypte. Je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu.
35 Vous ne ferez point d'iniquité en jugement, ni en règle, ni en poids, ni en mesure.
36 Vous aurez les balances justes, les pierres [à peser] justes, l'Epha juste, et le Hin juste. Je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu qui vous ai retirés du pays d'Egypte.
37 Gardez donc toutes mes ordonnances, et mes jugements, et les faites; je suis l'Eternel.
