Oséias 10

1 Israel is an unpruned vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the abundance of his fruit he hath multiplied altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly statues. 2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found guilty: he will break down their altars, he will destroy their statues. 3 For now they will say, We have no king, for we feared not Jehovah; and a king, what can he do for us? 4 They speak mere words, swearing falsely in making a covenant; therefore shall judgment spring up as hemlock in the furrows of the fields. 5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calf of Beth-aven; for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the idolatrous priests thereof shall tremble for it, for its glory, because it is departed from it. 6 Yea, it shall be carried unto Assyria as a present for king Jareb: Ephraim shall be seized with shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel. 7 As for Samaria her king is cut off as chips upon the face of the waters. 8 And the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up upon their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us! and to the hills, Fall on us!

9 From the days of Gibeah hast thou sinned, O Israel: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them. 10 At my pleasure will I chastise them; and the peoples shall be assembled against them, when they are bound for their two iniquities. 11 And Ephraim is a trained heifer, that loveth to tread out the corn; I have passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to draw; Judah shall plough, Jacob shall break his clods. 12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek Jehovah, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. 13 Ye have ploughed wickedness, reaped iniquity, eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst confide in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men. 14 And a tumult shall arise among thy peoples, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces with the children. 15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of the wickedness of your wickedness: at day-break shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.

2 Dividióse su corazón. Ahora serán hallados culpables: él quebrantará sus altares, asolará sus estatuas.

3 Porque dirán ahora: No tenemos rey, porque no temimos á Jehová: ¿y qué haría el rey por nosotros?

4 Han hablado palabras jurando en vano al hacer alianza: por tanto, el juicio florecerá como ajenjo en los surcos del campo.

5 Por ✝10.5 1 R. 12.28.las becerras de ✝10.5 ver. 15. cp. 4.15.Beth-aven serán atemorizados los moradores de Samaria: porque su pueblo lamentará á causa del becerro, y sus sacerdotes que en él se regocijaban por su gloria, la cual será disipada.

6 ✝ 10.6 cp. 12.2. Y aun será él llevado á Asiria en presente ✝10.6 cp. 5.13.al rey Jareb: Ephraim será avergonzado, é Israel será confuso de su consejo.

7 De Samaria fué cortado su rey como la espuma sobre la superficie de las aguas.

8 Y los altares de ✝10.8 cp. 4.15.Avén serán destruídos, el pecado de Israel; crecerá sobre sus altares espino y cardo. ✝10.8 Lc. 23.30. Ap. 6.16 y 9.6.Y dirán á los montes: Cubridnos; y á los collados: Caed sobre nosotros.

9 Desde los días de Gabaa has pecado, ✝10.9 cp. 9.9.oh Israel: allí estuvieron: no los tomó ✝10.9 Jue. 20.18.la batalla en Gabaa contra los inicuos.

10 Y los castigaré como deseo: y pueblos se juntarán sobre ellos cuando serán atados en sus dos surcos.

11 Ephraim es ✝10.11 Jer. 48.34. cp. 11.4becerra domada, amadora del trillar; mas yo pasaré sobre su lozana cerviz: yo haré llevar yugo á Ephraim; arará Judá, quebrará sus terrones Jacob.

12 ✝ 10.12 Ga. 6.8. Sembrad para vosotros en justicia, segad para vosotros en misericordia; arad ✝10.12 Jer. 4.3.para vosotros barbecho: porque es el tiempo de buscar á Jehová, hasta que venga y os ✝10.12 Is. 45.8.enseñe justicia.

13 Habéis arado impiedad, segasteis iniquidad: comeréis fruto de mentira: porque confiaste en tu camino, en la multitud de tus fuertes.

14 Por tanto, en tus pueblos se levantará alboroto, y todas tus fortalezas serán destruídas, como destruyó ✝10.14 2 R. 17.3.Salmán á Beth-arbel el día de la batalla: ✝10.14 cp. 13.16.la madre fué arrojada sobre los hijos.

15 Así hará á vosotros Beth-el por la maldad de vuestra maldad: en la mañana será del todo cortado el rey de Israel.
