João 3

1 Es war aber ein Mensch aus den Pharisäern, sein Name Nikodemus, ein Oberster der Juden. 2 Dieser kam zu ihm bei Nacht und sprach zu ihm: Rabbi, wir wissen, daß du ein Lehrer bist, von Gott gekommen, denn niemand kann diese Zeichen tun, die du tust, es sei denn Gott mit ihm. 3 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Es sei denn, daß jemand von neuem *O. von oben her geboren werde, so kann er das Reich Gottes nicht sehen. 4 Nikodemus spricht zu ihm: Wie kann ein Mensch geboren werden, wenn er alt ist? kann er etwa zum zweiten Male in den Leib seiner Mutter eingehen und geboren werden? 5 Jesus antwortete: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Es sei denn, daß jemand aus Wasser und Geist geboren werde, so kann er nicht in das Reich Gottes eingehen. 6 Was aus dem Fleische geboren ist, ist Fleisch, und was aus dem Geiste geboren ist, ist Geist. 7 Verwundere dich nicht, daß ich dir sagte: Ihr müsset von neuem *O. von oben her geboren werden. 8 Der Wind weht, wo er will, und du hörst sein Sausen, aber du weißt nicht, woher er kommt, und wohin er geht; also ist jeder, der aus dem Geiste geboren ist. 9 Nikodemus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wie kann dies geschehen? 10 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Du bist der Lehrer Israels und weißt dieses nicht? 11 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Wir reden, was wir wissen, und bezeugen, was wir gesehen haben, und unser Zeugnis nehmet ihr nicht an. 12 Wenn ich euch das Irdische gesagt habe, und ihr glaubet nicht, wie werdet ihr glauben, wenn ich euch das Himmlische sage? 13 Und niemand ist hinaufgestiegen in den Himmel, als nur der aus dem Himmel herabgestiegen ist, der Sohn des Menschen, der im Himmel ist. 14 Und gleichwie Moses in der Wüste die Schlange erhöhte, also muß der Sohn des Menschen erhöht werden, 15 auf daß jeder, der an ihn glaubt, nicht verloren gehe, sondern ewiges Leben habe. 16 Denn also hat Gott die Welt geliebt, daß er seinen eingeborenen Sohn gab, auf daß jeder, der an ihn glaubt, nicht verloren gehe, sondern ewiges Leben habe. 17 Denn Gott hat seinen Sohn nicht in die Welt gesandt, auf daß er die Welt richte, sondern auf daß die Welt durch ihn errettet werde. 18 Wer an ihn glaubt, wird nicht gerichtet; wer aber nicht glaubt, ist schon gerichtet, weil er nicht geglaubt hat an den Namen des eingeborenen Sohnes Gottes. 19 Dies aber ist das Gericht, daß das Licht in die Welt gekommen ist, und die Menschen haben die Finsternis mehr geliebt als das Licht, denn ihre Werke waren böse. 20 Denn jeder, der Arges tut, haßt das Licht und kommt nicht zu dem Lichte, auf daß seine Werke nicht bloßgestellt *O. gestraft werden; 21 wer aber die Wahrheit tut, kommt zu dem Lichte, auf daß seine Werke offenbar werden, daß sie in Gott gewirkt sind.

22 Nach diesem kam Jesus und seine Jünger in das Land Judäa, und daselbst verweilte er mit ihnen und taufte. 23 Aber auch Johannes taufte zu Aenon, nahe bei Salim, weil viel Wasser daselbst war; und sie kamen hin und wurden getauft. 24 Denn Johannes war noch nicht ins Gefängnis geworfen. 25 Es entstand nun eine Streitfrage unter den Jüngern Johannes’ mit einem Juden über die Reinigung. 26 Und sie kamen zu Johannes und sprachen zu ihm: Rabbi, der jenseit des Jordan bei dir war, dem du Zeugnis gegeben hast, siehe, der tauft, und alle kommen zu ihm. 27 Johannes antwortete und sprach: Ein Mensch kann nichts empfangen, *O. nehmen es sei ihm denn aus dem Himmel gegeben. 28 Ihr selbst gebet mir Zeugnis, daß ich sagte: Ich bin nicht der Christus, sondern daß ich vor ihm hergesandt bin. 29 Der die Braut hat, ist der Bräutigam; der Freund des Bräutigams aber, der dasteht und ihn hört, ist hoch erfreut über die Stimme des Bräutigams; diese meine Freude nun ist erfüllt. 30 Er muß wachsen, ich aber abnehmen. 31 Der von ober kommt, ist über allen; *O. über allem der von der *W. aus der, d. h. der daselbst seinen Ursprung hat Erde ist, ist von der Erde und redet von der Erde. *d. h. wie einer, der von der Erde ist; od.: von der Erde aus Der vom *W. aus dem Himmel kommt, ist über allen, *O. über allem32 und was er gesehen und gehört hat, dieses bezeugt er; und sein Zeugnis nimmt niemand an. 33 Wer sein Zeugnis angenommen hat, *O. annimmt hat besiegelt, daß Gott wahrhaftig ist. 34 Denn der, welchen Gott gesandt hat, redet die Worte Gottes; denn Gott gibt den Geist nicht nach Maß. 35 Der Vater liebt den Sohn und hat alles in seine Hand gegeben. 36 Wer an den Sohn glaubt, hat ewiges Leben; wer aber dem Sohne nicht glaubt, *O. sich nicht unterwirft, nicht gehorcht wird das Leben nicht sehen, sondern der Zorn Gottes bleibt auf ihm.

Ko Īhu rāua ko Nikorima

1 Nā, he tangata tērā nō ngā Parihi, ko Nikorima tōna ingoa, he rangatira nō ngā Hūrai. 2 Ka haere mai tēnei ki a Īhu i te pō, ka mea ki a ia, "E Rapi, e mātau ana mātou i haere mai koe i te Atua hei kaiwhakaako, inā hoki e kore tētahi tangata e āhei te mea i ēnei merekara e meatia nei e koe, ki te kāhore te Atua i a ia."

3 Ka whakahoki a Īhu, ka mea ki a ia, "He pono, he pono, tāku e mea nei ki a koe, ki te kāhore te tangata e whānau hou, e kore ia e āhei te kite i te rangatiratanga o te Atua."

4 Ka mea a Nikorima ki a ia, "Me pēhea ka whānau ai te tangata i tōna koroheketanga? E taea rānei te tuarua o ngā haerenga ki roto ki te kōpū o tōna whaea, whānau mai ai?"

5 Ka whakahokia e Īhu, "He pono, he pono tāku e mea nei ki a koe, Ki te kāhore te tangata e whānau i te wai, i te Wairua hoki, e kore ia e āhei te tomo ki te rangatiratanga o te Atua. 6 Ko tā te kikokiko e whānau ai he kikokiko; ko tā te Wairua e whānau ai he wairua. 7 Aua rā e mīharo ki tāku i mea nei ki a koe, ‘He mea tūturu tēnei kia whānau hou koutou.’ 8 E pupuhi ana te hau ki tāna wāhi e pai ai, ka rongo hoki koe ki tōna haruru otiia e kore e mōhiotia e koe te wāhi i puta mai ai, e tae atu ai rānei. Ko te ritenga tēnei ki te hunga katoa ka whānau i te Wairua."

9 Ka whakahoki a Nikorima, ka mea ki a ia, "Me pēhea ka taea ai ēnei mea?"

10 Ka whakahoki a Īhu, ka mea ki a ia, "Ko koe te Kaiwhakaako o Īharaira, ā, kāhore i mātau ki ēnei mea? 11 He pono, he pono tāku e mea nei ki a koe, e kōrerotia ana e mātou tā mātou i mātau ai, e whakaaturia ana tā mātou i kite ai; heoi, e kore koutou e tango ki tā mātou whakaaturanga. 12 Ki te mea kua kōrerotia e ahau ki a koutou ngā mea o te whenua, ā, kāhore koutou e whakapono, me pēhea ka whakapono ai ki te kōrerotia e ahau ki a koutou ngā mea o te rangi? 13 Kāhore hoki he tangata i kake noa ki te rangi, ko ia anake i heke iho i te rangi, arā ko te Tama a te tangata, e noho mai nei i te rangi.

14 "Ka rite hoki ki tā Mohi whakairinga i te nākahi i te koraha, kua takoto te tikanga kia pērā te whakairinga o te Tama a te tangata. 15 Kia kāhore ai e ngaro te tangata e whakapono ana ki a ia, engari kia whiwhi ai ki te ora tonu.

16 "Koia anō te aroha o te Atua ki te ao, hōmai ana e ia tāna Tama kotahi, kia kāhore ai e ngaro te tangata e whakapono ana ki a ia, engari kia whiwhi ai ki te ora tonu. 17 Kīhai hoki te Atua i tono mai i tāna Tama ki te ao ki te whakahē i te ao; engari kia ora ai te ao i a ia.

18 "Ko ia e whakapono ana ki a ia, e kore e tau te hē ki a ia; tēnā ko ia e kore e whakapono, kua whakahēngia noatia ake, mōna kīhai i whakapono ki te ingoa o te Tama kotahi a te Atua. 19 Ko te whakahēnga hoki tēnei, nō te mea kua tae mai nei te mārama ki te ao, ā, nui atu tō ngā tāngata aroha ki te pōuri i tō rātou ki te mārama, he kino hoki nō ā rātou mahi. 20 E kino ana hoki ki te mārama ngā kaimahi katoa i te kino, e kore anō hoki e haere mai ki te mārama, kei whakakitea ā rātou mahi. 21 Tēnā ko te kaimahi i te pono, e haere mai ana ki te mārama, kia kitea ai āna mahi, he mea mahi i roto i te Atua."

Ko Īhu rāua ko Hoani

22 Ā, nō muri i ēnei mea ka haere a Īhu, rātou ko āna ākonga, ki te whenua o Hūria; ā, noho tahi ana rātou ki reira, me tāna iriiri anō. 23 Nā, i te iriiri anō hoki a Hoani ki Ēnona, ki tētahi wāhi e tata ana ki Harema, nō te mea he nui te wai o reira; ā, ka haere mai rātou, ka iriiria. 24 Kāhore anō hoki a Hoani i pangā ki te whare herehere.

25 Nā, ka ara he totohe a ngā ākonga a Hoani ki tētahi Hūrai mō te purenga. 26 Ā, ka haere rātou ki a Hoani, ka mea ki a ia, "E Rapi, ko te tangata i tāwāhi nā kōrua o Horano, ko tāu i whakaatu mai nā, nanā, kei te iriiri ia, e haere ana hoki te katoa ki a ia."

27 Ka whakahoki a Hoani, ka mea, "E kore tētahi mea e riro i te tangata, ki te kore e hōmai ki a ia i te rangi. 28 Ko koutou hei kaiwhakaae ki ahau, ki tāku meatanga, ‘Ehara ahau i a te Karaiti, engari i tonoa mai ahau i mua i a ia.’ 29 Ko te tangata i te wahine mārena hou, ko ia te tāne mārena hou. Nā, ko te hoa o te tāne mārena hou, e tū ana, e rongo ana ki a ia, ka hari pū ki te reo o te tāne mārena hou. Nā reira i tutuki ai tēnei hari ōku. 30 Ko te tikanga tēnei, ko ia kia nui haere, ko ahau kia iti haere."

Te Mea e Haere mai ana i te Rangi

31 "Ko ia e haere mai ana i runga, kei runga ake ia i te katoa; ko tō te whenua nō te whenua ia, nō te whenua anō āna kōrero. Ko ia e haere mai ana i te rangi, kei runga ake ia i te katoa. 32 Ā, ko tāna i kite ai, i rongo ai, ko ia tāna e whakaatu ai; kāhore hoki tētahi tangata e tango atu ki tāna whakaaturanga. 33 Ki te manako tētahi ki tāna whakaaturanga, kua piri tāna tohu ki te pono o tā te Atua. 34 Ko tā te Atua i tono mai ai, e kōrero ana ia i ngā kupu a te Atua; kāhore hoki te Wairua e hōmai e te Atua i runga i te mēhua. 35 E aroha ana te Matua ki te Tama, kua hoatu anō ngā mea katoa ki tōna ringa. 36 Ko ia e whakapono ana ki te Tama, he ora tonu tōna; ko ia e kore e whakapono ki te Tama, e kore e kite i te ora, engari ka mau tonu te riri a te Atua ki a ia."
