Hosea 6

Israel and Judah Are Unrepentant

1 "Come, let us ch. 14:1;[ch. 3:5] return to the Lord;

for ch. 5:14;[ch. 13:7,8] he has torn us, that he may heal us;

he has struck us down, and [Isa. 30:26]he will bind us up.

2 After two days Ps. 71:20;[Luke 24:27,44;John 2:22;20:9;1 Cor. 15:4]he will revive us;

on the third day he will raise us up,

that we may live before him.

3 [ch. 4:6] Let us know; [ch. 4:6] let us press on to know the Lord;

Mic. 5:2his going out is sure as the dawn;

he will come to us [ch. 14:5] as the showers,

5 Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets;

I have slain them Jer. 23:29;[Heb. 4:12]by the words of my mouth,

and my judgment goes forth as the light.

7 But [Gen. 3:11;Job 31:33;Rom. 5:14] like Adam they ch. 8:1;Deut. 17:2transgressed the covenant;

ch. 5:7there they dealt faithlessly with me.

8 [ch. 12:11] Gilead is a city of evildoers,

9 As robbers [ch. 5:1;7:6] lie in wait for a man,

so the priests band together;

they murder on the way to Josh. 24:1Shechem;

they commit villainy.

10 In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing;

ch. 5:3;7:4;[ch. 4:2,12,14;9:10] Ephraim’s whoredom is there; See ver. 4Israel is defiled.

11 For you also, O [See ver. 10above] Judah, See Joel 3:13a harvest is appointed.
