1 The booke of the generation of Jesus Christ the sonne of Dauid, the sonne of Abraham. 2 Abraham begate Isaac. And Isaac begate Iacob. And Iacob begat Iudas and his brethren. 3 And Iudas begate Phares, and Zara of Thamar. And Phares begate Esrom. And Esrom begate Aram. 4 And Aram begate Aminadab. And Aminadab begate Naasson. And Naasson begat Salmon. 5 And Salmon begate Booz of Rachab. And Booz begat Obed of Ruth. and Obed begat Iesse. 6 And Iesse begate Dauid the King. And Dauid the King begate Salomon of her that was the wife of Vrias. 7 And Salomon begate Roboam. And Roboam begate Abia. And Abia begate Asa. 8 And Asa begate Iosaphat. And Iosaphat begate Ioram. And Ioram begate Hozias. 9 And Hozias begat Ioatham. And Ioatham begate Achaz. And Achaz begate Ezekias. 10 And Ezekias begate Manasses. And Manasses begate Amon. And Amon begate Iosias. 11 And Iosias begate Iakim. And Iakim begate Iechonias and his brethren about the time they were caried away to Babylon. 12 And after they were caried away into Babylon, Iechonias begate Salathiel. And Salathiel begate Zorobabel. 13 And Zorobabel begate Abiud. And Abiud begate Eliacim. And Eliacim begate Azor. 14 And Azor begate Sadoc. And Sadoc begate Achim. And Achim begate Eliud. 15 And Eliud begate Eleazar. And Eleazar begate Matthan. And Matthan begate Iacob. 16 And Iacob begat Ioseph ye husband of Mary, of whom was borne Jesus, that is called Christ. 17 So all the generations from Abraham to Dauid, are fourtene generations. And from Dauid vntil they were caried away into Babylon, fourtene generations: and after they were caried away into Babylon vntill Christ, fourteene generations. 18 Nowe the birth of Jesus Christ was thus, When as his mother Mary was betrothed to Ioseph, before they came together, shee was found with childe of the holy Ghost. 19 Then Ioseph her husband being a iust man, and not willing to make her a publike example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But whiles he thought these things, behold, the Angel of the Lord appeared vnto him in a dreame, saying, Ioseph, the sonne of Dauid, feare not to take Mary thy wife: for that which is conceiued in her, is of the holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring foorth a sonne, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for hee shall saue his people from their sinnes. 22 And al this was done that it might be fulfilled, which is spoken of the Lord by ye Prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgine shalbe with childe, and shall beare a sonne, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is by interpretation, God with vs. 24 Then Ioseph, being raised from sleepe, did as the Angel of the Lord had inioyned him, and tooke his wife. 25 But he knew her not, til she had broght forth her first borne sonne, and he called his name JESUS.

1 LIBRO de la generación de Jesucristo, hijo de David, hijo de Abraham.2 Abraham engendró á Isaac: é Isaac engendró á Jacob: y Jacob engendró á Judas y á sus hermanos:3 Y Judas engendró de Thamar á Phares y á Zara: y Phares engendró á Esrom: y Esrom engendró á Aram:4 Y Aram engendró á Aminadab: y Aminadab engendró á Naassón: y Naassón engendró á Salmón:5 Y Salmón engendró de Rachâb á Booz, y Booz engendró de Ruth á Obed y Obed engendró á Jessé:6 Y Jessé engendró al rey David: y el rey David engendró á Salomón de la que fué mujer de Urías:7 Y Salomón engendró á Roboam: y Roboam engendró á Abía: y Abía engendró á Asa:8 Y Asa engendró á Josaphat: y Josaphat engendró á Joram: y Joram engendró á Ozías:9 Y Ozías engendró á Joatam: y Joatam engendró á Achâz: y Achâz engendró á Ezechîas:10 Y Ezechîas engendró á Manasés: y Manasés engendró á Amón: y Amón engendró á Josías:11 Y Josías engendró á Jechônías y á sus hermanos, en la transmigración de Babilonia.12 Y después de la transmigración de Babilonia, Jechônías engendró á Salathiel: y Salathiel engendró á Zorobabel:13 Y Zorobabel engendró á Abiud: y Abiud engendró á Eliachîm: y Eliachîm engendró á Azor:14 Y Azor engendró á Sadoc: y Sadoc engendró á Achîm: y Achîm engendró á Eliud:15 Y Eliud engendró á Eleazar: y Eleazar engendró á Mathán: y Mathán engendró á Jacob:16 Y Jacob engendró á José, marido de María, de la cual nació Jesús, el cual es llamado el Cristo.17 De manera que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones: y desde David hasta la transmigración de Babilonia, catorce generaciones: y desde la transmigración de Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce generaciones.18 Y el nacimiento de Jesucristo fué así: Que siendo María su madre desposada con José, antes que se juntasen, se halló haber concebido del Espíritu Santo.19 Y José su marido, como era justo, y no quisiese infamarla, quiso dejarla secretamente.20 Y pensando él en esto, he aquí el ángel del Señor le aparece en sueños, diciendo: José, hijo de David, no temas de recibir á María tu mujer, porque lo que en ella es engendrado, del Espíritu Santo es.21 Y parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESUS, porque él salvará á su pueblo de sus pecados.22 Todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el Señor, por el profeta que dijo:23 He aquí la virgen concebirá y parirá un hijo, Y llamarás su nombre Emmanuel, que declarado, es: Con nosotros Dios.24 Y despertando José del sueño, hizo como el ángel del Señor le había mandado, y recibió á su mujer.25 Y no la conoció hasta que parió á su hijo primogénito: y llamó su nombre JESUS.
