1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. 3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. 4 And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me. 5 Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. 6 And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. 7 For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit. 8 But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. 9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. 10 Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. 11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren. 12 As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time. 13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 14 Let all your things be done with charity. 15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) 16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth. 17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied. 18 For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.

19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 20 All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss. 21 The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. 22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. 1 Wat de inzameling voor de christenen betreft: doe wat ik ook aan de kerkgemeenschappen in Galatië heb opgedragen. 2 Ieder van jullie moet op de eerste dag van de week opzijleggen wat hij kan en dat opsparen, zodat er niet pas een inzameling moet worden gehouden wanneer ik kom. 3 Dan, wanneer ik ben aangekomen, zal ik mensen die jullie daarvoor geschikt achten, met een schriftelijke aanbeveling naar Jeruzalem sturen om jullie gift te bezorgen. 4 Maar als het raadzaam is dat ik ook ga, dan kunnen zij samen met mij gaan.

5 Ik zal bij jullie komen wanneer ik in Macedonië geweest ben. Ik ben namelijk van plan door Macedonië te reizen. 6 Misschien zal ik wat langer bij jullie blijven of zelfs de winter bij jullie doorbrengen, zodat jullie mij kunnen voorthelpen wanneer ik verder reis. 7 Dit keer wil ik jullie namelijk niet slechts op doorreis bezoeken; ik hoop wat tijd bij jullie door te brengen, als de Heer het toelaat. 8 Tot Pinksteren zal ik echter in Efeze blijven. 9 Er is hier namelijk een deur voor mij opengegaan en ik zie veel resultaat, maar er zijn ook veel tegenstanders.

10 Wanneer Timoteüs komt, zorg dan dat hij onbezorgd bij jullie kan verblijven, want hij doet evenals ik het werk van de Heer. 11 Laat niemand hem dus geringschatten. Help hem in vrede voort, zodat hij naar mij toe kan komen. Ik verwacht hem namelijk, samen met de andere broeders.

12 Wat onze broeder Apollos betreft: ik heb er sterk bij hem op aangedrongen om met de andere broeders mee naar jullie toe te gaan. Hij wilde echter nu niet vertrekken, maar hij zal vertrekken wanneer hij in de gelegenheid is. 13 Wees waakzaam, wees standvastig in het geloof, wees moedig, wees sterk. 14 Doe alles wat je doet op een liefdevolle wijze.

15 Broeders en zusters, jullie kennen de familie van Stefanas. Zij waren de eersten in Achaje die tot geloof gekomen zijn en ze hebben zich ten dienste gesteld van de christenen. 16 Ik spoor jullie aan het gezag te erkennen van mensen zoals zij en van allen die zich samen met hen zo hard inspannen.

17 Ik ben blij met de komst van Stefanas, Fortunatus en Achaïkus, want zij hebben mij voorzien van hetgeen jullie mij niet konden geven. 18 Zij hebben zowel mij als jullie opgebeurd. Houd zulke mensen in ere.

19 De kerkgemeenschappen van Asia groeten jullie. Ook Aquila en Prisca en de kerkgemeenschap die in hun huis samenkomt, groeten jullie hartelijk als mensen die ook bij de Heer horen. 20 Alle broeders en zusters hier groeten jullie. Begroet elkaar met een heilige kus. 21 Deze groet schrijf ik, Paulus, eigenhandig. 22 Als iemand de Heer niet liefheeft, dan zal hij vervloekt zijn. Kom, Heer! 23 Ik wens jullie de genade van de Heer Jezus toe. 24 Mijn liefde gaat uit naar jullie allen, die bij Christus Jezus horen.
