1 Davantage toi, fils d'homme, prends-toi un couteau tranchant; prends-toi un rasoir de barbier; et fais-le passer sur ta tête, et sur ta barbe; puis tu prendras une balance à peser, et tu partageras ce [que tu auras rasé].

2 Tu [en] brûleras une troisième partie dans le feu, au milieu de la ville, lorsque les jours du siège s'accompliront, et tu en prendras une autre troisième partie, [et] tu frapperas de l'épée à l'entour; et tu disperseras au vent l'autre troisième partie; car je tirerai l'épée après eux.

3 Et tu en prendras de là quelque petit nombre, et les serreras aux pans de ton manteau.

4 Et de ceux-là, tu en prendras encore, et les jetteras au milieu du feu, et les brûleras au feu; [et] il en sortira du feu contre toute la maison d'Israël.

5 Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel : c'est ici cette Jérusalem que j'avais placée au milieu des nations et des pays qui sont autour d'elle.

6 Elle a changé mes ordonnances en une méchanceté pire que celle des nations, et mes statuts en une méchanceté pire que celle des pays qui sont autour d'elle; car ils ont rejeté mes ordonnances, et n'ont point marché dans mes statuts.

7 C'est pourquoi le Seigneur l'Eternel a dit ainsi : parce que vous avez multiplié [vos méchancetés] plus que les nations qui [sont] autour de vous, [et] que vous n'avez point marché dans mes statuts, et n'avez point observé mes ordonnances, et que vous n'avez pas même fait selon les ordonnances des nations qui sont autour de vous;

8 A cause de cela le Seigneur l'Eternel dit ainsi : voici, j'[en veux] à toi, oui moi-même, et j'exécuterai au milieu de toi mes jugements, devant les yeux des nations.

9 Et je ferai en toi, à cause de toutes tes abominations, des choses que je ne fis jamais, et telles que je n'en ferai jamais de semblables.

10 Les pères mangeront leurs enfants au milieu de toi, et les enfants mangeront leurs pères; et j'exécuterai [mes] jugements sur toi, et je disperserai à tous vents tout ce qui restera de toi.

11 Et je suis vivant, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel, parce que tu as souillé mon Sanctuaire par toutes tes infamies, et par toutes tes abominations, moi-même je te raserai, et mon œil ne t'épargnera point, et je n'en aurai point de compassion.

12 Une troisième partie d'entre vous mourra de mortalité, et sera consumée par la famine au milieu de toi; et une troisième partie tombera par l'épée autour de toi; et je disperserai à tous vents l'autre troisième partie, et je tirerai l'épée après eux.

13 Car ma colère sera portée à son comble, et je ferai reposer ma fureur sur eux, et je me satisferai; et ils sauront que moi l'Eternel j'ai parlé dans ma jalousie, quand j'aurai consommé ma fureur sur eux.

14 Je te mettrai en désert et en opprobre parmi les nations qui sont autour de toi, tellement que tous les passants le verront.

15 Et tu seras en opprobre, en ignominie, en instruction, et en étonnement aux nations qui sont autour de toi, quand j'aurai exécuté mes jugements sur toi, avec colère, avec fureur, et par des châtiments pleins de fureur; moi l'Eternel j'ai parlé.

16 Après que j'aurai décoché sur eux les mauvaises flèches de la famine, qui seront mortelles, lesquelles je décocherai pour vous détruire, encore j'augmenterai la famine sur vous, et je vous romprai le bâton du pain.

17 Je vous enverrai la famine, et des bêtes nuisibles, qui te priveront d'enfants; et la mortalité et le sang passeront parmi toi, et je ferai venir l'épée sur toi; moi l'Eternel j'ai parlé.

1 And you, son of man, take a sharp knife, take a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon your head and upon your beard: then take balances to weigh and divide the hair.

2 You shall burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and you shall take a third part, and strike about it with a sword: and a third part you shall scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.

3 You shall also take some of them, and bind them in your garments.

4 Then take some of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for from there shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.

5 Thus says the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.

6 And she has changed my ordinances into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my ordinances and my statutes, they have not walked in them.

7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because you multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have done according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;

8 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against you, and will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations.

9 And I will do in you that which I have not done, and the like of which I will not do any more, because of all your abominations.

10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of you, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on you, and the whole remnant of you will I scatter into all the winds.

11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD; Surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore will I also diminish you; neither shall my eye spare, neither will I have any pity.

12 A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of you: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about you; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.

13 Thus shall my anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.

14 Moreover I will make you a waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about you, in the sight of all that pass by.

15 So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about you, when I shall execute judgments on you in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.

16 When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will cut off your supply of bread:

17 So will I send upon you famine and wild beasts, and they shall bereave you; and pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword upon you. I the LORD have spoken it.
