Te Whakaoranga o Hūrā me Īharaira

1 Īnoia he ua i a Ihowā i te wā o tō muri ua;

arā i a Ihowā e hanga nei i ngā uira.

he tarutaru i te māra mā tēnei mā tēnei.

2 He tekateka noa hoki te kōrero a ngā terapimi,

he teka te kite a ngā tohunga,

he horihori ngā moe i kōrerotia e rātou;

he hanga noa iho tā rātou whakamārie.

Nā reira, haere ana rātou ānō he kāhui hipi;

kārangirangi kau ana i te kore hēpara.

3 "I mura tōku riri ki ngā hēpara,

i whiua anō e ahau ngā koati toa;

kua tae mai hoki a Ihowā o ngā mano ki tāna kāhui, ki te whare o Hūrā,

kua mea i a rātou hei hōiho ātanga mōna i te tatauranga.

4 "Nō roto i a ia te putanga ake o te kōhatu o te kokonga,

nō roto i a ia te whao,

nō roto i a ia te kōpere mō te tatauranga,

nō roto i a ia ngā kaiakiaki katoa, rūpeke, rūpeke.

5 Ā, ka rite rātou ki ngā mārohirohi

e takatakahi ana i ō rātou hoariri ki te paru o ngā waharoa

i te mea e whawhai ana;

ka whawhai anō rātou, nō te mea kei a rātou a Ihowā,

ā, ka whakamā ngā kaieke hōiho.

6 "Nā, ka kaha i ahau te whare o Hūrā,

ka ora anō i ahau te whare o Hōhepa.

Ka whakahokia ki te nohoanga;

nō te mea ka tohungia rātou e ahau,

ā, me te mea kīhai rātou i peia e ahau;

ko ahau hoki, ko Ihowā, tō rātou Atua,

ka whakarongo anō ahau ki a rātou.

7 Nā, ka rite ngā Ēparaimi ki te mārohirohi,

ka koa anō tō rātou ngākau me te mea nā te wāina.

Ka kite anō ā rātou tamariki, ā, ka koa;

ka whakamanamana tō rātou ngākau ki a Ihowā.

8 "Ka hī ahau ki a rātou, ka huihui i a rātou;

kua hokona hoki rātou e ahau;

ā, ka tini rātou, ka pērā me rātou i tini rā.

9 Ā, ka whakatōkia rātou e ahau ki roto ki ngā iwi,

ka mahara anō rātou ki ahau i ngā whenua tawhiti,

ka ora hoki rātou me ā rātou tamariki, ā, ka hoki.

10 Ka whakahokia mai anō rātou e ahau i te whenua o Īhipa,

ka huihuia mai i Ahiria.

Ka kawea anō ki te whenua o Kireara, ki Repanōna,

tē kitea he wāhi mō rātou.

11 Nā, ka tika atu ia i waenga moana,

arā i te raruraru, ā, ka patu i ngā ngaru i te moana,

ka maroke hoki ngā wāhi hōhonu o te awa.

Ā, ka riro iho te whakapehapeha o Ahiria,

ka riro kē anō te hēpeta a Īhipa.

12 Ka whakakahangia anō rātou e ahau i runga i a Ihowā;

ka hāereere hoki rātou i runga i tōna ingoa,"

e ai tā Ihowā.

1 Ask ye of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain, even of Jehovah that maketh lightnings; and he will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. 2 For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams, they comfort in vain: therefore they go their way like sheep, they are afflicted, because there is no shepherd. 3 Mine anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the he-goats; for Jehovah of hosts hath visited his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them as his goodly horse in the battle. 4 From him shall come forth the corner-stone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together. 5 And they shall be as mighty men, treading down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight, because Jehovah is with them; and the riders on horses shall be confounded. 6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back; for I have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Jehovah their God, and I will hear them. 7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine; yea, their children shall see it, and rejoice; their heart shall be glad in Jehovah.

8 I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them; and they shall increase as they have increased. 9 And I will sow them among the peoples; and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and shall return. 10 I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them. 11 And he will pass through the sea of affliction, and will smite the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart. 12 And I will strengthen them in Jehovah; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith Jehovah.
