me te pūranga nui o ngā tinana mate –

ā, kāhore he mutunga o ngā tinana;

tūtuki ana te waewae ki ō rātou tinana.

4 He maha hoki nō ngā kairautanga o te wahine ātaahua i kairau nei;

ko te rangatira nei ia o ngā mākutu,

e hoko nei i ngā iwi ki āna kairautanga,

i ngā hapū anō ki āna mahi mākutu.

5 "Nanā, hei hoariri tēnei ahau mōu,"

"ka hurahia anō e ahau ngā remu o tōu ki tōu aroaro;

7 Nā, ko te hunga katoa e kite ana i a koe

ka rere atu i a koe, ā, ka mea,

‘Kua ururuatia a Ninewe; ko wai hei tangi ki a ia?’

Me rapu e ahau ki hea he kaiwhakamārie mōu?"

8 He pai ake rānei koe i Noamono,

9 Ko tōna kaha ko Etiopia,

ko Īhipa, kāhore hoki he mutunga;

14 Utuhia he wai mōu mō te whakapaenga,

whakakahangia ōu pā taiepa;

haere ki te mahi paru,

takatakahia te mea pokepoke,

kia ū te tahunga pereki.

15 Ka pau koe i te ahi i reira,

ka hātepea atu koe e te hoari,

ko tāna kai i a koe ka rite ki tā te tātarakihi.

ko ōu rangatira rite tonu ki ngā pōkai māwhitiwhiti

e noho nei i ngā taiepa

i te rā māeke i te whitinga o te rā ka rere rātou,

kāhore hoki e mōhiotia tō rātou wāhi, kei hea rā?

18 Kei te moe āu hēpara,

e te kīngi o Ahiria;

ko āu metararahi kei te takoto.

Kua marara atu tōu iwi ki runga ki ngā maunga,

kāhore hoki he kaihuihui.

19 Kāhore he whakamāhunga i tōu pakaru;

he mamae rawa tōu marūtanga.

Ko te hunga katoa e rongo ana i te rongo ki a koe,

4 A causa de la multitud de las fornicaciones de la ramera de hermosa gala, ✝3.4 Is. 47.9,12.maestra de brujerías, que vende las gentes con sus fornicaciones, y los pueblos con sus hechizos.

5 ✝ 3.5 cp. 2.13. Heme aquí contra ti, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y ✝3.5 Jer. 13.22.descubriré tus faldas en tu cara, y mostraré á las gentes tu desnudez, y á los reinos tu vergüenza.

6 Y echaré sobre ti suciedades, y te afrentaré, y te pondré como estiércol.

7 Y será que todos los que te vieren, se apartarán de ti, y dirán: Nínive es asolada: ¿quién se compadecerá de ella? ¿dónde te buscaré consoladores?

8 ¿Eres tú mejor que No-amón, ✝3.8 Jer. 46.25.que estaba asentada entre ríos, cercada de aguas, cuyo baluarte era la mar, y del mar su muralla?

9 Etiopía era su fortaleza, y Egipto sin límite; ✝3.9 Ez. 27.10.Put y ✝3.9 2 Cr. 12.3.Libia fueron en tu ayuda.

10 También ella fué llevada en cautiverio: también sus chiquitos fueron estrellados en las encrucijadas de todas las calles; y sobre sus varones echaron suertes, y todos sus magnates fueron aprisionados con grillos.

11 Tú también serás embriagada, serás encerrada; tú también buscarás fortaleza á causa del enemigo.

12 Todas tus fortalezas cual higueras con brevas; que si las sacuden, caen en la boca del que las ha de comer.

13 He aquí, ✝3.13 Jer. 51.30.tu pueblo será como mujeres en medio de ti: las puertas de tu tierra se abrirán de par en par á tus enemigos: fuego consumirá tus barras.

14 ✝ 3.14 Is. 22.11. Provéete de agua para el cerco, ✝3.14 cp. 2.1.fortifica tus fortalezas; entra en el lodo, pisa el barro, fortifica el horno.

15 Allí te consumirá el fuego, te talará la espada, te devorará como pulgón: multiplícate como langosta, multiplícate como langosta.

16 Multiplicaste tus ✝3.16 Ez. 27.23,24.mercaderes más que las estrellas del cielo: el pulgón hizo presa, y voló.

17 Tus príncipes serán como langostas, y tus grandes como langostas de langostas que se sientan en vallados en día de frío: salido el sol se mudan, y no se conoce el lugar donde estuvieron.

18 ✝ 3.18 Sal. 76.5. Durmieron tus pastores, oh ✝3.18 Jer. 50.18. Ez. 31.3.rey de Asiria, reposaron tus valientes: tu pueblo se derramó por los montes, y no hay quien lo junte.

19 No hay cura para tu quebradura; tu herida se encrudeció: todos los que oyeron tu ✝3.19 Jer. 10.22.fama, ✝3.19 Sal. 47.1.batirán las manos sobre ti, porque ✝3.19 Is. 37.18-20.¿sobre quién no pasó continuamente tu malicia?
