1 Este é o livro da genealogia de Adão.
No dia em que Deus criou o ser humano, à semelhança de Deus o fez. 2 Deus os criou homem e mulher, os abençoou e lhes deu o nome de "ser humano", no dia em que foram criados.
3 Adão viveu cento e trinta anos, e gerou um filho à sua semelhança, conforme a sua imagem, e lhe deu o nome de Sete. 4 Depois que gerou esse filho, Adão viveu oitocentos anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 5 Todos os dias da vida de Adão foram novecentos e trinta anos; e morreu.
6 Sete viveu cento e cinco anos e gerou Enos. 7 Depois que gerou Enos, Sete viveu oitocentos e sete anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 8 Todos os dias de Sete foram novecentos e doze anos; e morreu.
9 Enos viveu noventa anos e gerou Cainã. 10 Depois que gerou Cainã, Enos viveu oitocentos e quinze anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 11 Todos os dias de Enos foram novecentos e cinco anos; e morreu.
12 Cainã viveu setenta anos e gerou Maalalel. 13 Depois que gerou Maalalel, Cainã viveu oitocentos e quarenta anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 14 Todos os dias de Cainã foram novecentos e dez anos; e morreu.
15 Maalalel viveu sessenta e cinco anos e gerou Jarede. 16 Depois que gerou Jarede, Maalalel viveu oitocentos e trinta anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 17 Todos os dias de Maalalel foram oitocentos e noventa e cinco anos; e morreu.
18 Jarede viveu cento e sessenta e dois anos e gerou Enoque. 19 Depois que gerou Enoque, Jarede viveu oitocentos anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 20 Todos os dias de Jarede foram novecentos e sessenta e dois anos; e morreu.
21 Enoque viveu sessenta e cinco anos e gerou Metusalém. 22 Enoque andou com Deus; e, depois que gerou Metusalém, viveu trezentos anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 23 Todos os dias de Enoque foram trezentos e sessenta e cinco anos. 24 Enoque andou com Deus e não foi mais visto, porque Deus o levou para junto de si.
25 Metusalém viveu cento e oitenta e sete anos e gerou Lameque. 26 Depois que gerou Lameque, Metusalém viveu setecentos e oitenta e dois anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 27 Todos os dias de Metusalém foram novecentos e sessenta e nove anos; e morreu.
28 Lameque viveu cento e oitenta e dois anos e gerou um filho. 29 Deu-lhe o nome de Noé, dizendo:
— Este nos consolará dos nossos trabalhos e das fadigas de nossas mãos, nesta terra que o Senhor amaldiçoou.
30 Depois que gerou Noé, Lameque viveu quinhentos e noventa e cinco anos; e teve filhos e filhas. 31 Todos os dias de Lameque foram setecentos e setenta e sete anos; e morreu.
32 Noé tinha quinhentos anos de idade e gerou Sem, Cam e Jafé.

1 This is the written genealogy of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.2 He created them male and female and blessed them. When they were created, he called them Mankind.3 When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.4 After Seth was born, Adam lived eight hundred years and had other sons and daughters.5 Altogether, Adam lived nine hundred and thirty years, and then he died.6 Seth lived one hundred and five years when he became the father of Enosh.7 After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years and had other sons and daughters.8 Altogether, Seth lived nine hundred and twelve years, and then he died.9 Enosh lived ninety years. He became the father of Kenan.10 After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years and had other sons and daughters.11 Enosh lived a total of nine hundred and five years, and then he died.12 Kenan lived seventy years. He became the father of Mahalalel.13 After that Kenan lived eight hundred and forty years and had other sons and daughters.14 Altogether, Kenan lived nine hundred and ten years, and then he died.15 When Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Jared.16 After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years and had other sons and daughters.17 Mahalalel lived a total of eight hundred and ninety-five years, and then he died.18 When Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, he became the father of Enoch.19 After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years and had other sons and daughters.20 Jared lived a total of nine hundred and sixty-two years, and then he died.21 When Enoch lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Methuselah.22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years and had other sons and daughters.23 Altogether, Enoch lived three hundred and sixty-five years.24 Enoch walked with God. Then he was no more, because God took moved him away.25 When Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, he became the father of Lamech.26 After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred eighty-two years and had other sons and daughters.27 Altogether, Methuselah lived nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and then he died.28 When Lamech had lived one hundred and eighty-two years, he had a son.29 He named him Noah. He said: »He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground Jehovah has cursed.«30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years and had other sons and daughters.31 Lamech lived a total of seven hundred seventy-seven years, and then he died.32 After Noah was five hundred years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
