Micah 4

The Mountain of the Lord

1 In the last days

the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established

as the highest of the mountains;

it will be exalted above the hills,

and peoples will stream to it.

2 Many nations will come and say,

"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,

to the temple of the God of Jacob.

He will teach us his ways,

so that we may walk in his paths."

The law will go out from Zion,

the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

3 He will judge between many peoples

and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide.

They will beat their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will not take up sword against nation,

nor will they train for war anymore.

4 Everyone will sit under their own vine

and under their own fig tree,

and no one will make them afraid,

for the Lord Almighty has spoken.

5 All the nations may walk

in the name of their gods,

but we will walk in the name of the Lord

our God for ever and ever.

The Lord’s Plan

6 "In that day," declares the Lord,

"I will gather the lame;

I will assemble the exiles

and those I have brought to grief.

7 I will make the lame my remnant,

those driven away a strong nation.

The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion

from that day and forever.

8 As for you, watchtower of the flock,

stronghold*4:8 Or hill of Daughter Zion,

the former dominion will be restored to you;

kingship will come to Daughter Jerusalem."

9 Why do you now cry aloud—

have you no king*4:9 Or King?

Has your ruler*4:9 Or Ruler perished,

that pain seizes you like that of a woman in labor?

10 Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion,

like a woman in labor,

for now you must leave the city

to camp in the open field.

You will go to Babylon;

there you will be rescued.

There the Lord will redeem you

out of the hand of your enemies.

11 But now many nations

are gathered against you.

They say, "Let her be defiled,

let our eyes gloat over Zion!"

12 But they do not know

the thoughts of the Lord;

they do not understand his plan,

that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

13 "Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion,

for I will give you horns of iron;

I will give you hooves of bronze,

and you will break to pieces many nations."

You will devote their ill-gotten gains to the Lord,

their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.

O monte do Senhor

1 Nos dias que virão,

o monte do templo do Senhor

será estabelecido como o principal;

será elevado acima das colinas,

e as nações correrão para ele.

2 Muitas nações virão, dizendo:

"Venham, subamos ao monte do Senhor,

ao templo do Deus de Jacó.

Ele nos ensinará os seus caminhos,

para que andemos nas suas veredas".

Pois a lei virá de Sião,

e a palavra do Senhor, de Jerusalém.

3 Ele julgará entre muitos povos

e resolverá contendas entre nações poderosas e distantes.

Das suas espadas farão enxadas,

e das suas lanças, foices.

Nenhuma nação erguerá a espada contra outra

nem aprenderão mais a guerra.

4 Todo homem poderá sentar-se debaixo da sua videira

e debaixo da sua figueira,

e ninguém o espantará,

pois assim falou o Senhor dos Exércitos.

5 Pois todas as nações andam,

cada uma, em nome dos seus deuses,

mas nós andaremos em nome do Senhor, o nosso Deus,

para todo o sempre.

O plano do Senhor

6 "Naquele dia", declara o Senhor,

"ajuntarei os que tropeçam

e reunirei os dispersos,

aqueles a quem afligi.

7 Farei dos que tropeçam um remanescente,

e dos dispersos, uma nação forte.

O Senhor reinará sobre eles no monte Sião

daquele dia em diante e para sempre.

8 Quanto a você, ó torre do rebanho,

ó fortaleza*4.8 Ou colina. da Filha de Sião,

o antigo domínio será restaurado a você;

a realeza voltará para a Filha de Jerusalém."

9 Agora, por que gritar tão alto?

Você não tem rei?

O seu conselheiro morreu,

para que a dor seja tão forte para você

como a de uma mulher em trabalho de parto?

10 Contorça-se em agonia, ó povo da Filha de Sião,

como a mulher em trabalho de parto,

porque, agora, terá que deixar a sua cidade

para habitar em campo aberto.

Você irá para a Babilônia,

e ali será liberta.

Ali o Senhor a resgatará

do poder dos seus inimigos.

11 Mas, agora, muitas nações

estão reunidas contra você.

Elas dizem: "Que Sião seja profanada,

e que isso aconteça diante dos nossos olhos!".

12 Mas elas não conhecem

os pensamentos do Senhor;

não compreendem o plano

daquele que as ajunta como feixes para a eira.

13 "Levante-se e debulhe, ó Filha de Sião,

pois eu lhe farei chifres de ferro

e lhe farei cascos de bronze,

para que você despedace muitas nações."

Você consagrará*4.13 O termo hebraico indica um ato de consagração irrevogável a Deus, geralmente por meio da destruição de um objeto ou de seres vivos. ao Senhor, ao Soberano de toda a terra,

os ganhos ilícitos e a riqueza delas.
