1 O Senhor Deus falou de novo comigo e disse:

— Vá e ame uma adúltera, uma mulher que tem um amante. Ame-a assim como eu amo o povo de Israel, embora eles adorem outros deuses e lhes ofereçam bolos de passas .

2 Fui e comprei a mulher por quinze barras de prata e cento e cinquenta quilos de cevada. 3 Eu disse:

— Por muito tempo, você vai esperar por mim. Durante esse tempo não se torne prostituta, nem se entregue a um amante. E eu também esperarei por você.

4 Será assim que os israelitas passarão muito tempo sem rei ou qualquer outro chefe, sem sacrifícios ou colunas do deus Baal, sem ídolos ou deuses do lar. 5 Mas virá o tempo em que o povo de Israel voltará a adorar o Senhor, o Deus deles, e eles serão governados por um descendente do rei Davi. Naquele tempo, eles adorarão o Senhor com temor e receberão dele muitas bênçãos.

1 Then said Yahweh unto me, Once more, go love a woman who loveth a friend, and is an adulteress,according to the love of Yahweh unto the sons of Israel, though they keep turning away unto other gods, and love raisin-cakes.

2 So I secured n her to me, for fifteen pieces of silver,and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley;

3 and I said unto her, Many days, shalt thou tarry for me, thou shalt not be unchaste, neither shalt thou become another mans,moreover also, I, for thee.

4 For, many days, shall the sons of Israel tarry, without king, and without ruler, and without sacrifice, and without pillar; and without ephod, or household gods.

5 Afterwards, shall the sons of Israel return, and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king,and shall turn with throbbing hearts unto Yahweh and unto his goodness, in the afterpart of the days.
