1 Estas são as divisões dos guardas das portas:

Dos coraítas: Meselemias, filho de Coré, da família de Abiasafe. 2 O primeiro filho de Meselamias foi Zacarias, o segundo, Jediael, o terceiro, Zebadias, o quarto, Jatniel, 3 o quinto, Elão, o sexto, Joanã, e o sétimo, Elioenai.

4 O primeiro filho de Obede-Edom foi Semaías, o segundo, Jeozabade, o terceiro, Joá, o quarto, Sacar, o quinto, Natanael, 5 o sexto, Amiel, o sétimo, Issacar, e o oitavo, Peuletai. Deus havia abençoado Obede-Edom.

6 Semaías, filho de Obede-Edom, teve filhos muito capazes, que ocuparam posições de grande autoridade no clã. 7 Estes eram os nomes deles: Otni, Rafael, Obede e Elzabade. Seus parentes, Eliú e Semaquias, também foram homens muito capazes.

8 Todos esses descendentes de Obede-Edom, incluindo seus filhos e parentes, 62 ao todo, foram homens muito capazes e aptos para seu trabalho.

9 Os dezoito filhos e parentes de Meselamias também foram homens muito capazes.

10 Os filhos de Hosa, do clã de Merari, foram: Sinri, nomeado chefe por seu pai, embora não fosse o mais velho, 11 Hilquias, o segundo, Tebalias, o terceiro, e Zacarias, o quarto. Os filhos e parentes de Hosá foram treze ao todo.

12 Essas divisões de guardas das portas foram feitas conforme os chefes de suas famílias. Os guardas, como os outros levitas, serviam na casa do Senhor. 13 Foram encarregados de guardar as portas por sorteio, de acordo com as famílias, sem levar em conta idade ou treinamento.

14 Meselemias e seu grupo ficaram responsáveis pela porta leste. Seu filho Zacarias, conselheiro de grande sabedoria, ficou responsável pela porta norte. 15 Obede-Edom ficou responsável pela porta sul, e seus filhos, pelo depósito. 16 Supim e Hosa ficaram responsáveis pela porta oeste e pela passagem que dava para o templo. O serviço dos guardas foi dividido de forma igual. 17 Todos os dias, seis levitas ficavam encarregados da porta leste, quatro da porta norte, quatro da porta sul, e duas duplas do depósito. 18 Cada dia, seis ficavam encarregados da porta oeste, quatro da passagem que dava para o templo, e dois do pátio.

19 Essas foram as divisões dos guardas das portas dos clãs de Coré e de Merari.

20 Outros levitas, sob a liderança de Aías, eram encarregados dos tesouros da casa de Deus e dos depósitos onde ficavam os objetos consagrados. 21 Da família de Libni, no clã de Gérson, Jeiel era o chefe. 22 Os filhos de Jeiel, Zetã e seu irmão Joel, eram encarregados dos tesouros da casa do Senhor.

23 Os líderes descendentes de Anrão, de Isar, de Hebrom e de Uziel foram:

24 Do clã de Anrão, Sebuel foi descendente de Gérson, filho de Moisés. Era o oficial encarregado dos tesouros. 25 Suas gerações de parentes por parte de Eliézer foram: Reabias, Jesaías, Jorão, Zicri e Selemote.

26 Selemote e seus parentes eram encarregados dos tesouros que o rei Davi, os chefes das famílias, os generais e capitães e outros oficiais do exército haviam dedicado ao Senhor. 27 Esses homens dedicaram parte dos despojos que haviam obtido nas batalhas para a manutenção da casa do Senhor. 28 Selomote e seus parentes também cuidavam de todas as ofertas dedicadas ao Senhor pelo vidente Samuel, por Saul, filho de Quis, por Abner, filho de Ner, e por Joabe, filho de Zeruia. Eram responsáveis, ainda, pelas demais ofertas dedicadas ao Senhor.

29 Do clã de Isar, Quenanias e seus filhos receberam as responsabilidades administrativas de Israel como oficiais e juízes.

30 Do clã de Hebrom, Hasabias e seus parentes, 1.700 homens capazes, foram encarregados das terras israelitas a oeste do rio Jordão. Eram responsáveis por todas as questões relacionadas ao serviço do Senhor e do rei nessa região.

31 Também do clã de Hebrom, Jerias era o chefe dos hebronitas, de acordo com os registros genealógicos. No quadragésimo ano do reinado de Davi, fez-se uma busca nos registros e foram encontrados homens capazes do clã de Hebrom em Jazer, na terra de Gileade. 32 Havia 2.700 homens capazes e chefes de família entre os parentes de Jerias. O rei Davi os enviou para o lado leste do Jordão e os encarregou das tribos de Rúben e Gade e da meia tribo de Manassés. Eram responsáveis por todas as questões relacionadas a Deus e ao rei.

All the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen.

12 Of these were the divisions of the doorkeepers, even of the chief men, having offices like their brothers, to minister in Yahweh’s house. 13 They cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate. 14 The lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward. 15 To Obed-Edom southward; and to his sons the storehouse. 16 To Shuppim and Hosah westward, by the gate of Shallecheth, at the causeway that goes up, watchman opposite watchman. 17 Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the storehouse two and two. 18 For Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar. 19 These were the divisions of the doorkeepers; of the sons of the Korahites, and of the sons of Merari.

20 Of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of God’s house and over the treasures of the dedicated things. 21 The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ households belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli. 22 The sons of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasures of Yahweh’s house. 23 Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites, of the Uzzielites: 24 Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasuries. 25 His brothers: of Eliezer, Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son. 26 This Shelomoth and his brothers were over all the treasuries of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the heads of the fathers’ households, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the army, had dedicated. 27 They dedicated some of the plunder won in battles to repair Yahweh’s house. 28 All that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth and of his brothers.

29 Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges. 30 Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, one thousand seven hundred men of valor, had the oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan westward, for all the business of Yahweh and for the service of the king. 31 Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was the chief of the Hebronites, according to their generations by fathers’ households. They were sought for in the fortieth year of the reign of David, and mighty men of valor were found among them at Jazer of Gilead. 32 His relatives, men of valor, were two thousand seven hundred, heads of fathers’ households, whom king David made overseers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the Manassites, for every matter pertaining to God and for the affairs of the king.
