O músico Hemã era do clã de Coate. Os antepassados de Hemã foram: Joel, Samuel, 34 Elcana, Jeroão, Eliel, Toá, 35 Zufe, Elcana, Maate, Amasai, 36 Elcana, Joel, Azarias, Sofonias, 37 Taate, Assir, Abiasafe, Coré, 38 Isar, Coate, Levi e Israel.

39 O primeiro ajudante de Hemã foi seu irmão Asafe. Os antepassados de Asafe foram: Berequias, Simeia, 40 Micael, Baaseias, Malquias, 41 Etni, Zerá, Adaías, 42 Etã, Zima, Simei, 43 Jaate, Gérson e Levi.

62 Os descendentes de Gérson receberam, por sorteio, de acordo com seus clãs, treze cidades nos territórios de Issacar, Aser, Naftali e da região de Basã, de Manassés, a leste do Jordão.

63 Os descendentes de Merari receberam, por sorteio, de acordo com seus clãs, doze cidades nos territórios de Rúben, Gade e Zebulom.

64 Os israelitas entregaram todas essas cidades e pastagens aos levitas. 65 As cidades nos territórios de Judá, Simeão e Benjamim, mencionadas anteriormente, foram entregues por sorteio.

66 Os descendentes de Coate receberam as seguintes cidades no território de Efraim, cada uma com suas pastagens: 67 Siquém, uma das cidades de refúgio na região montanhosa de Efraim, e Gezer, 68 Jocmeão, Bete-Horom, 69 Aijalom e Gate-Rimom. 70 Os demais descendentes de Coate receberam as seguintes cidades no território da meia tribo de Manassés: Aner e Bileã, cada uma com suas pastagens.

71 Os descendentes de Gérson receberam as cidades de Golã, em Basã, e Asterote, no território da meia tribo de Manassés, cada uma com suas pastagens. 72 No território de Issacar, receberam Quedes, Daberate, 73 Ramote e Aném, cada uma com suas pastagens. 74 No território de Aser, receberam Masal, Abdom, 75 Hucoque e Reobe, cada uma com suas pastagens. 76 No território de Naftali, receberam Quedes, na Galileia, Hamom e Quiriataim, cada uma com suas pastagens.

77 Os demais descendentes de Merari receberam as seguintes cidades: Jocneã, Carta, Rimom e Tabor, no território de Zebulom, cada uma com suas pastagens. 78 No território de Rúben, a leste do rio Jordão, defronte de Jericó, receberam Bezer (uma cidade no deserto), Jaza, 79 Quedemote e Mefaate, cada uma com suas pastagens. 80 E, no território de Gade, receberam Ramote, em Gileade, Maanaim, 81 Hesbom e Jazer, cada uma com suas pastagens.

50 These are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son, 51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son, 52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son, 53 Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son. 54 Now these are their dwelling places according to their encampments in their borders: to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot), 55 to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and its pasture lands around it; 56 but the fields of the city and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 57 To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron, Libnah also with its pasture lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands, 58 Hilen with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands, 59 Ashan with its pasture lands, and Beth Shemesh with its pasture lands; 60 and out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its pasture lands, Allemeth with its pasture lands, and Anathoth with its pasture lands. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

61 To the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities. 62 To the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities. 63 To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities. 64 The children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their pasture lands. 65 They gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

66 Some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim. 67 They gave to them the cities of refuge, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its pasture lands and Gezer with its pasture lands, 68 Jokmeam with its pasture lands, Beth Horon with its pasture lands, 69 Aijalon with its pasture lands, Gath Rimmon with its pasture lands; 70 and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner with its pasture lands, and Bileam with its pasture lands, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

71 To the sons of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands, and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands; 72 and out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands, 73 Ramoth with its pasture lands, and Anem with its pasture lands; 74 and out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands, 75 Hukok with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands; 76 and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, Hammon with its pasture lands, and Kiriathaim with its pasture lands.

77 To the rest of the Levites, the sons of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its pasture lands, and Tabor with its pasture lands; 78 and beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with its pasture lands, Jahzah with its pasture lands, 79 Kedemoth with its pasture lands, and Mephaath with its pasture lands; 80 and out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, Mahanaim with its pasture lands, 81 Heshbon with its pasture lands, and Jazer with its pasture lands.
