1 Então recebi outra mensagem do Senhor dos Exércitos: 2 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Tenho muito ciúme do monte Sião e sou consumido de zelo por ele!

3 "Assim diz o Senhor: Voltarei para o monte Sião e habitarei em Jerusalém. Então Jerusalém será chamada Cidade Fiel, e o monte do Senhor dos Exércitos será chamado Monte Santo.

4 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Homens e mulheres idosos voltarão a caminhar apoiados em suas bengalas nas ruas de Jerusalém e se sentarão juntos nas praças, 5 e as ruas da cidade ficarão cheias de meninos e meninas brincando.

6 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: No momento, isso pode lhes parecer impossível, ó remanescente do povo. Mas acaso é impossível para mim?, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

7 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Podem ter certeza de que resgatarei meu povo dos lugares para onde foram levados no leste e no oeste. 8 Eu os trarei de volta para que habitem em Jerusalém. Eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus fiel e justo.

9 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Sejam fortes e completem a tarefa! Desde que lançaram os alicerces do templo do Senhor dos Exércitos, vocês têm ouvido o que os profetas dizem a respeito de terminar a obra. 10 Antes de iniciarem os trabalhos do templo, não havia dinheiro para contratar pessoas ou pagar por animais. Nenhum viajante estava seguro, pois havia inimigos por toda parte. Eu os havia incitado uns contra os outros.

11 "Agora, porém, não tratarei mais o remanescente de meu povo como o tratei no passado, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. 12 Pois, agora, plantarão as sementes em paz. As videiras ficarão carregadas de uvas, a terra produzirá suas colheitas, e os céus derramarão o orvalho. Darei essas bênçãos como herança ao remanescente deste povo. 13 Entre as outras nações, Judá e Israel se tornaram símbolo de nação amaldiçoada, mas não será mais assim! Agora eu os resgatarei e os transformarei em bênção. Portanto, não tenham medo. Sejam fortes e continuem a reconstruir o templo!

14 "Pois assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eu estava decidido a castigá-los quando seus antepassados provocaram minha ira, e não voltei atrás, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. 15 Agora, porém, estou decidido a abençoar Jerusalém e o povo de Judá. Portanto, não tenham medo. 16 Isto é o que vocês devem fazer: Digam a verdade uns aos outros. Em seus tribunais, pronunciem sentenças justas, que conduzam à paz. 17 Não tramem o mal uns contra os outros. Não se agradem de fazer juramentos falsos. Odeio todas essas coisas, diz o Senhor".

18 Esta é outra mensagem que recebi do Senhor dos Exércitos. 19 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Os jejuns habituais que vocês têm observado no quarto mês, bem como no quinto, no sétimo e no décimo mês, chegaram ao fim. Eles se tornarão festas de alegria e celebração para o povo de Judá. Portanto, amem a verdade e a paz.

20 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Pessoas de nações e cidades de todo lugar virão a Jerusalém. 21 Os habitantes de uma cidade dirão aos habitantes de outra: ‘Venham conosco a Jerusalém para pedir ao Senhor que nos abençoe. Vamos adorar o Senhor dos Exércitos. Estou decidido a ir’. 22 Muitos povos e nações poderosas virão a Jerusalém para buscar o Senhor dos Exércitos e pedir que ele os abençoe.

23 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Naquele dia, dez homens de nações e línguas diferentes agarrarão a barra das vestes de um judeu e dirão: ‘Deixe que o acompanhemos, pois ouvimos dizer que Deus está com vocês’".

1 The word of Yahweh of Armies came to me. 2 Yahweh of Armies says: "I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath."

3 Yahweh says: "I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the middle of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called ‘The City of Truth;’ and the mountain of Yahweh of Armies, ‘The Holy Mountain.’"

4 Yahweh of Armies says: "Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand because of their old age. 5 The streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing in its streets."

6 Yahweh of Armies says: "If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes?" says Yahweh of Armies.

7 Yahweh of Armies says: "Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country. 8 I will bring them, and they will dwell within Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness."

9 Yahweh of Armies says: "Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of Yahweh of Armies was laid, even the temple, that it might be built. 10 For before those days there was no wages for man nor any wages for an animal, neither was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all men everyone against his neighbor. 11 But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days," says Yahweh of Armies. 12 "For the seed of peace and the vine will yield its fruit, and the ground will give its increase, and the heavens will give their dew. I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things. 13 It shall come to pass that, as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Don’t be afraid. Let your hands be strong."

14 For Yahweh of Armies says: "As I thought to do evil to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath," says Yahweh of Armies, "and I didn’t repent, 15 so again I have thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Don’t be afraid. 16 These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates, 17 and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate," says Yahweh.

18 The word of Yahweh of Armies came to me. 19 Yahweh of Armies says: "The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months shall be for the house of Judah joy, gladness, and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace."

20 Yahweh of Armies says: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come. 21 The inhabitants of one will go to another, saying, ‘Let’s go speedily to entreat the favor of Yahweh, and to seek Yahweh of Armies. I will go also.’ 22 Yes, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek Yahweh of Armies in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of Yahweh." 23 Yahweh of Armies says: "In those days, ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, ‘We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’"
