Salmos 41

1 Veisuunjohtajalle; Daavidin virsi. (H41:2) Autuas se, joka vaivaista holhoo! Hänet Herra pelastaa pahana päivänä.2 (H41:3) Herra varjelee häntä ja pitää hänet hengissä, ja maassa ylistetään hänen onneansa, etkä sinä anna häntä alttiiksi hänen vihollistensa raivolle.3 (H41:4) Herra tukee häntä tautivuoteessa; hänen sairasvuoteensa sinä peräti muutat.6 (H41:7) Ja jos joku tulee minua katsomaan, puhuu hän petosta; hänen sydämensä kerää häijyyttä itseensä, hän menee ulos kadulle ja purkaa sitä.7 (H41:8) Kaikki minun vihamieheni minusta keskenään kuiskuttelevat ja hankitsevat minulle pahaa:9 (H41:10) Ystävänikin, johon minä luotin, joka minun leipääni söi, nostaa kantapäänsä minua vastaan.10 (H41:11) Mutta sinä, Herra, armahda minua ja auta minut ylös, pystyyn, niin minä sen heille maksan.11 (H41:12) Siitä minä tiedän sinun mielistyneen minuun, ettei minun viholliseni saa minusta riemuita.12 (H41:13) Minun nuhteettomuuteni tähden sinä minua tuet ja annat minun seisoa kasvojesi edessä ainiaan.13 (H41:14) Kiitetty olkoon Herra, Israelin Jumala, iankaikkisesta iankaikkiseen. Amen. Amen.

1 To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David. 2 \41:1\Happy is the man who gives thought to the poor; the Lord will be his saviour in the time of trouble.3 \41:2\The Lord will keep him safe, and give him life; the Lord will let him be a blessing on the earth, and will not give him into the hand of his haters.4 \41:3\The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength.5 \41:4\I said, Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.6 \41:5\My haters say evil against me, When will he be dead, and his name come to an end?7 \41:6\If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place.8 \41:7\All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.9 \41:8\They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.10 \41:9\Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.11 \41:10\But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, lifting me up, so that I may give them their punishment.12 \41:11\By this I see that you have pleasure in me, because my hater does not overcome me.13 \41:12\And as for me, you are my support in my righteousness, giving me a place before your face for ever.14 \41:13\May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.
