1 In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, to fulfil the word of Yahweh from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh aroused the spirit of Cyrus, king of Persia, and he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, moreover also in writing, saying:2 Thus, saith Cyrus, king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth, hath Yahweh God of the heavens, given to me,and, he himself, hath laid charge upon me, to build for him a house, in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.3 Who is there among you of all his people? His God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah,and build the house of Yahweh God of Israel, (he, is God!) which is in Jerusalem;4 And, whosoever is left, of all the places where he doth sojourn, let the men of his place uphold him, with silver and with gold, and with goods and with beasts,along with a voluntary offering for the house of God, which is in Jerusalem.5 Then arose the ancestral chiefs of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites,even every one whose spirit God had aroused, to go up to build the house of Yahweh, which was in Jerusalem;6 and, all they who were round about them, strengthened their hands, with utensils of silver, with gold with goods and with beasts, and with precious things,besides any thing he had volunteered.7 And, King Cyrus, brought forth the utensils of the house of Yahweh,which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth from Jerusalem, and put in the house of his gods:8 yea Cyrus king of Persia brought them forth, by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer,and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, a leader of Judah.9 And, these, were the numbers of them,basins of gold, thirty, basins of silver, a thousand, knives, twenty-nine;10 bowls of gold, thirty, bowls of silver, of a secondary sort, four hundred and ten,other utensils, a thousand.11 All the utensils, in gold and silver, were five thousand and four hundred,the whole, did Sheshbazzar bring up with the upbringing of the exile, out of Babylon unto Jerusalem.

1 No primeiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia (para que se cumprisse a palavra do Senhor, por boca de Jeremias), despertou o Senhor o espírito de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, o qual fez passar pregão por todo o seu reino, como também por escrito, dizendo: 2 Assim diz Ciro, rei da Pérsia: O Senhor, Deus dos céus, me deu todos os reinos da terra; e ele me encarregou de lhe edificar uma casa em Jerusalém, que é em Judá. 3 Quem há entre vós, de todo o seu povo, seja seu Deus com ele, e suba a Jerusalém, que é em Judá, e edifique a Casa do Senhor, Deus de Israel; ele é o Deus que habita em Jerusalém. 4 E todo aquele que ficar em alguns lugares em que andar peregrinando, os homens do seu lugar o ajudarão com prata, e com ouro, e com fazenda, e com gados, afora as dádivas voluntárias para a Casa de Deus, que habita em Jerusalém.

5 Então, se levantaram os chefes dos pais de Judá e Benjamim, e os sacerdotes, e os levitas, com todos aqueles cujo espírito Deus despertou, para subirem a edificar a Casa do Senhor, que está em Jerusalém. 6 E todos os que habitavam nos arredores lhes confortaram as mãos com objetos de prata, e com ouro, e com fazenda, e com gados, e com coisas preciosas, afora tudo o que voluntariamente se deu. 7 Também o rei Ciro tirou os utensílios da Casa do Senhor, que Nabucodonosor tinha trazido de Jerusalém e que tinha posto na casa de seus deuses. 8 Estes tirou Ciro, rei da Pérsia, pela mão de Mitredate, o tesoureiro, que os deu por conta a Sesbazar, príncipe de Judá. 9 E este é o número deles: trinta bacias de ouro, mil bacias de prata, vinte e nove facas, 10 trinta taças de ouro, quatrocentas e dez taças de prata doutra espécie e mil outros objetos. 11 Todos os utensílios de ouro e de prata foram cinco mil e quatrocentos; todos estes levou Sesbazar, quando os do cativeiro subiram de Babilônia para Jerusalém.
