1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying:2 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons and unto all the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them,This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, saying:3 What man soever, there be of the house of Israel, who slayeth an ox or lamb or goat, in the camp,or who slayeth it outside the camp;4 and, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, bringeth it not in, to present as an oblation unto Yahweh, before the habitation of Yahweh, blood, shall be imputed to that manblood, hath he shed, therefore shall that man be cut off from the midst of his people:5 to the end that the sons of Israel may bring in their sacrifices which they are offering upon the face of the field, that they may bring them in unto Yahwehunto the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest,and that so as peace-offerings unto Yahweh, they may offer them.6 Then shall the priest dash the blood against the altar of Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting,and shall make a perfume of the fat, as a satisfying odour unto Yahweh;7 so shall they no more offer their sacrifices unto demons after whom they are unchastely going away,a statute age-abiding, shall this be to them unto their generations.8 Wherefore, unto them, shalt thou say: What man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst,who causeth to go up an ascending-offering, or a sacrifice;9 and unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, doth not bring it in, to offer it unto Yahweh, then shall that man be cut off from among his kinsfolk.10 And, what man soever, there may be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, that partaketh of any manner of blood, then will I set my face against the person that partaketh of the blood, and will cut him off from the midst of his people.11 For as for the life of the flesh, in the blood, it is, therefore have, I, given it unto you upon the altar, to put a propitiatory-covering over your lives,for the blood, it is, which, by virtue of the life, maketh propitiation.12 For this cause, have I said unto the sons of Israel, Not a person from among you shall partake of blood,Even the sojourner that sojourneth in your midst, shall not partake of blood.13 And, what man soever, there may be of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners that sojourn in their midst, who taketh by hunting any wild-beast or bird that may be eaten, then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust;14 for, as for the life of all flesh, the blood thereof, for the life thereof, standeth, therefore have I said unto the sons of IsraelOf the blood of no manner of flesh, shall ye partake, For, the life of all flesh is the blood thereof; whoso partaketh thereof, shall be cut off.15 And, in the case of any person who eateth that which died of itself or was torn in pieces, whether he be home-born, or a sojourner, then shall he wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening, and then be clean.16 But, if he wash them not, and his flesh, he do not bathe, then shall he bear his iniquity.

1 Falou mais o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo: 2 Fala a Arão, e aos seus filhos, e a todos os filhos de Israel e dize-lhes: Esta é a palavra que o Senhor ordenou, dizendo: 3 Qualquer homem da casa de Israel que degolar boi, ou cordeiro, ou cabra, no arraial ou quem os degolar fora do arraial, 4 e os não trouxer à porta da tenda da congregação, para oferecer oferta ao Senhor diante do tabernáculo do Senhor, a tal homem será imputado o sangue; derramou sangue; pelo que tal homem será extirpado do seu povo; 5 para que os filhos de Israel, trazendo os seus sacrifícios, que sacrificam sobre a face do campo, os tragam ao Senhor, à porta da tenda da congregação, ao sacerdote, e os ofereçam por sacrifícios pacíficos ao Senhor. 6 E o sacerdote espargirá o sangue sobre o altar do Senhor, à porta da tenda da congregação, e queimará a gordura por cheiro suave ao Senhor. 7 E nunca mais sacrificarão os seus sacrifícios aos demônios, após os quais eles se prostituem: isto ser-lhes-á por estatuto perpétuo nas suas gerações.

8 Dize-lhes, pois: Qualquer homem da casa de Israel ou dos estrangeiros que peregrinam entre vós que oferecer holocausto ou sacrifício 9 e não o trouxer à porta da tenda da congregação, para oferecê-lo ao Senhor, o tal homem será extirpado dos seus povos.

10 E qualquer homem da casa de Israel ou dos estrangeiros que peregrinam entre vós que comer algum sangue, contra aquela alma que comer sangue eu porei a minha face e a extirparei do seu povo. 11 Porque a alma da carne está no sangue, pelo que vo-lo tenho dado sobre o altar, para fazer expiação pela vossa alma, porquanto é o sangue que fará expiação pela alma. 12 Portanto, tenho dito aos filhos de Israel: Nenhuma alma dentre vós comerá sangue, nem o estrangeiro que peregrine entre vós comerá sangue. 13 Também qualquer homem dos filhos de Israel ou dos estrangeiros que peregrinam entre eles que caçar caça de animal ou de ave que se come derramará o seu sangue e o cobrirá com pó.

14 Porquanto é a alma de toda a carne; o seu sangue é pela sua alma; por isso, tenho dito aos filhos de Israel: Não comereis o sangue de nenhuma carne, porque a alma de toda a carne é o seu sangue; qualquer que o comer será extirpado. 15 E toda alma entre os naturais ou entre os estrangeiros que comer corpo morto ou dilacerado lavará as suas vestes, e se banhará com água, e será imunda até à tarde; depois, será limpa. 16 Mas, se os não lavar, nem banhar a sua carne, levará sobre si a sua iniquidade.
