1 And, from thence, arising, he cometh into the bounds of Judaea and beyond the Jordan,and there come together again, multitudes unto him, and, as he had been wont, again, was he teaching them.2 And Pharisees coming near were questioning himwhether it is allowed a husband to divorce a wife, testing him.3 But, he, answering, said unto themWhat unto you did, Moses, command?4 And, they, saidMoses permitted, to write, a roll of dismissal, and to divorce.5 But, Jesus, said unto themIn view of your hardness of heart, wrote he for you this commandment;6 But, from the beginning of creation, male and female, made he them ;7 For this cause, shall a man leave behind his father and mother,8 and, the two, shall become, one flesh; so that, no longer, are they two, but, one flesh.9 What then, God, hath yoked together, let, a man, not put asunder.10 And, into the house again, the disciples, concerning this, were questioning him;11 and he saith unto themWhosoever shall divorce his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her;12 And, if, she, divorcing her husband, marry another, she committeth adultery.13 And they were bringing unto him children, that he might, touch, them,the disciples, however, were rebuking them.14 But Jesus, seeing it, was greatly displeased, and said unto themSuffer the children to come unto me,do not hinder them; for, of such, is the kingdom of God.15 Verily, I say unto youWhosoever shall not welcome the kingdom of God, as a child, in nowise shall enter thereinto.16 And, folding them in his arms, he was blessing them, having laid his hands upon them.17 And, as he was going forth into a road, one, running, and kneeling before him, was questioning himGood Teacher! what shall I do that, life ageabiding, I may inherit?18 And, Jesus, said unto himWhy callest thou me, good? None, is good, save oneGod.19 The commandments, thou knowest,Do not commit murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal; Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.20 And, he, said unto himTeacher! all these things, have I kept, from my youth.21 And, Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said unto himOne thing, unto thee, is wanting;Withdraw! whatsoever thou hast, sell, and give unto the destitute,and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come! be following me.22 And, he, becoming gloomy because of the word, departed sorrowing, for he was holding, many possessions.23 And, looking around, Jesus saith unto his disciplesWith what difficulty, shall, they who have money, enter, into the kingdom of God!24 And, the disciples, were in amazement, because of the words. But, Jesus, again answering, saith unto themChildren! how difficult, it is, to enter, into the kingdom of God!25 It is, easier, for a camel, through the eye of a needle, to pass, than for, a rich man, into the kingdom of God, to enter.26 And, they, were being exceedingly struck with astonishment, saying unto himWho, then, can, be saved?27 Looking at them, Jesus saithWith men, impossible, but not, with God; for, all things, are possible, with God28 Peter began to be saying unto himLo! we, have left all, and followed thee!29 Jesus saidVerily, I say unto youThere is, no one, who hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for the sake of me, and for the sake of the glad-message,30 who shall not receive a hundredfold, now, in this season, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands,with persecutions, and, in the age that is coming, life age-abiding.31 But, many, shall befirst-last, and the Last-first.32 Now they were in the way, going up unto Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on before them,and they were in amazement; and, they who followed, were in fear. And, taking unto himself, again, the twelve, he began to be saying unto them, as to the things about to befall him33 Lo! we are going up unto Jerusalem; and, the Son of Man, will be delivered up, unto the Chief-priests and the Scribes,and they will condemn him to death, and deliver him up unto the nations;34 And they will mock him, and spit upon him, and scourge him, and, slay;and, after three days, will he, arise.35 And there come near unto him, James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,saying unto himTeacher! we desire, that, whatsoever we shall ask thee, thou wilt do for us.36 But, he, said unto themWhat desire ye, I should do for you?37 And, they, said unto himGrant us, that, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left, we may sit, in thy glory.38 But, Jesus, said unto themYe know not what ye are asking: Are ye able to drink the cup that, I, am to drink? or to be immersed, with the immersion wherewith, I, am to be immersed?39 And, they, said unto himWe are able. And, Jesus, said unto themThe cup which, I, am to drink, ye shall drink, and, with the immersion wherewith, I, am to be immersed, shall ye be immersed;40 But, to sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give, except unto them for whom it hath been prepared.41 And the ten, hearing, began to be sorely displeased, concerning James and John.42 And Jesus, calling them near, saith unto themYe know that, they who think to rule the nations, lord it over them, and, their great ones, wield authority over them;43 But, not so, it is, among you. But, whosoever desireth to become, great, among you, shall be, your minister,44 And, whosoever desireth, among you, to be, first, shall be, servant of all;45 For, even the Son of Man, came not to be ministered unto, but minister,and to give his life, a ransom instead of many.46 And they come into Jericho. And, as he was journeying forth from Jericho, and his disciples, and a considerable multitude, the son of Timaeus, blind Bar-Timaeus, a beggar, was sitting beside the road.47 And, hearing that it was, Jesus the Nazarene, he began to be crying aloud, and sayingO Son of David! Jesus! have mercy on me.48 And many were rebuking him, that he might hold his peace; but, he, so much the more, was crying aloud, O Son of David, have mercy on me.49 And, coming to a stand, Jesus saidCall him! And they call the blind man, saying unto himTake courage! rise! he calleth thee!50 And, he, throwing off his mantlespringing to his feet, came unto Jesus.51 And, answering him, Jesus saidWhat desirest thou, I should do for thee? And, the blind man, said unto himRabboni! that may recover sight.52 And, Jesus, said unto himGo thy way! thy faith, hath saved thee. And, straightway, he recovered sight, and was following him in the road.

1 E, levantando-se dali, foi para o território da Judeia, além do Jordão, e a multidão se reuniu em torno dele; e tornou a ensiná-los, como tinha por costume.

2 E, aproximando-se dele os fariseus, perguntaram-lhe, tentando-o: É lícito ao homem repudiar sua mulher? 3 Mas ele, respondendo, disse-lhes: Que vos mandou Moisés? 4 E eles disseram: Moisés permitiu escrever carta de divórcio e repudiar. 5 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Pela dureza do vosso coração vos deixou ele escrito esse mandamento; 6 porém, desde o princípio da criação, Deus os fez macho e fêmea. 7 Por isso, deixará o homem a seu pai e a sua mãe e unir-se-á a sua mulher. 8 E serão os dois uma só carne e, assim, já não serão dois, mas uma só carne. 9 Portanto, o que Deus ajuntou, não o separe o homem.

10 E em casa tornaram os discípulos a interrogá-lo acerca disso mesmo. 11 E ele lhes disse: Qualquer que deixar a sua mulher e casar com outra adultera contra ela. 12 E, se a mulher deixar a seu marido e casar com outro, adultera.

13 E traziam-lhe crianças para que lhes tocasse, mas os discípulos repreendiam aos que lhas traziam. 14 Jesus, porém, vendo isso, indignou-se e disse-lhes: Deixai vir os pequeninos a mim e não os impeçais, porque dos tais é o Reino de Deus. 15 Em verdade vos digo que qualquer que não receber o Reino de Deus como uma criança de maneira nenhuma entrará nele. 16 E, tomando-as nos seus braços e impondo-lhes as mãos, as abençoou.

17 E, pondo-se a caminho, correu para ele um homem, o qual se ajoelhou diante dele e lhe perguntou: Bom Mestre, que farei para herdar a vida eterna? 18 E Jesus lhe disse: Por que me chamas bom? Ninguém há bom senão um, que é Deus. 19 Tu sabes os mandamentos: Não adulterarás; não matarás; não furtarás; não dirás falsos testemunhos; não defraudarás alguém; honra a teu pai e a tua mãe. 20 Ele, porém, respondendo, lhe disse: Mestre, tudo isso guardei desde a minha mocidade. 21 E Jesus, olhando para ele, o amou e lhe disse: Falta-te uma coisa: vai, e vende tudo quanto tens, e dá-o aos pobres, e terás um tesouro no céu; e vem e segue-me. 22 Mas ele, contrariado com essa palavra, retirou-se triste, porque possuía muitas propriedades.

23 Então, Jesus, olhando ao redor, disse aos seus discípulos: Quão dificilmente entrarão no Reino de Deus os que têm riquezas! 24 E os discípulos se admiraram destas suas palavras; mas Jesus, tornando a falar, disse-lhes: Filhos, quão difícil é, para os que confiam nas riquezas, entrar no Reino de Deus! 25 É mais fácil passar um camelo pelo fundo de uma agulha do que entrar um rico no Reino de Deus. 26 E eles se admiravam ainda mais, dizendo entre si: Quem poderá, pois, salvar-se? 27 Jesus, porém, olhando para eles, disse: Para os homens é impossível, mas não para Deus, porque para Deus todas as coisas são possíveis. 28 E Pedro começou a dizer-lhe: Eis que nós tudo deixamos e te seguimos. 29 E Jesus, respondendo, disse: Em verdade vos digo que ninguém há, que tenha deixado casa, ou irmãos, ou irmãs, ou pai, ou mãe, ou mulher, ou filhos, ou campos, por amor de mim e do evangelho, 30 que não receba cem vezes tanto, já neste tempo, em casas, e irmãos, e irmãs, e mães, e filhos, e campos, com perseguições, e, no século futuro, a vida eterna. 31 Porém muitos primeiros serão derradeiros, e muitos derradeiros serão primeiros.

32 E iam no caminho, subindo para Jerusalém; e Jesus ia adiante deles. E eles maravilhavam-se e seguiam-no atemorizados. E, tornando a tomar consigo os doze, começou a dizer-lhes as coisas que lhe deviam sobrevir, 33 dizendo: Eis que nós subimos a Jerusalém, e o Filho do Homem será entregue aos príncipes dos sacerdotes e aos escribas, e o condenarão à morte, e o entregarão aos gentios, 34 e o escarnecerão, e açoitarão, e cuspirão nele, e o matarão; mas, ao terceiro dia, ressuscitará.

35 E aproximaram-se dele Tiago e João, filhos de Zebedeu, dizendo: Mestre, queremos que nos faças o que pedirmos. 36 E ele lhes disse: Que quereis que vos faça? 37 E eles lhe disseram: Concede-nos que, na tua glória, nos assentemos, um à tua direita, e outro à tua esquerda. 38 Mas Jesus lhes disse: Não sabeis o que pedis; podeis vós beber o cálice que eu bebo e ser batizados com o batismo com que eu sou batizado? 39 E eles lhe disseram: Podemos. Jesus, porém, disse-lhes: Em verdade vós bebereis o cálice que eu beber e sereis batizados com o batismo com que eu sou batizado, 40 mas o assentar-se à minha direita ou à minha esquerda não me pertence a mim concedê-lo, mas isso é para aqueles a quem está reservado. 41 E os dez, tendo ouvido isso, começaram a indignar-se contra Tiago e João. 42 Mas Jesus, chamando-os a si, disse-lhes: Sabeis que os que julgam ser príncipes das gentes delas se assenhoreiam, e os seus grandes usam de autoridade sobre elas; 43 mas entre vós não será assim; antes, qualquer que, entre vós, quiser ser grande será vosso serviçal. 44 E qualquer que, dentre vós, quiser ser o primeiro será servo de todos. 45 Porque o Filho do Homem também não veio para ser servido, mas para servir e dar a sua vida em resgate de muitos.

46 Depois, foram para Jericó. E, saindo ele de Jericó com seus discípulos e uma grande multidão, Bartimeu, o cego, filho de Timeu, estava assentado junto ao caminho, mendigando. 47 E, ouvindo que era Jesus de Nazaré, começou a clamar e a dizer: Jesus, Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim! 48 E muitos o repreendiam, para que se calasse; mas ele clamava cada vez mais: Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim! 49 E Jesus, parando, disse que o chamassem; e chamaram o cego, dizendo-lhe: Tem bom ânimo; levanta-te, que ele te chama. 50 E ele, lançando de si a sua capa, levantou-se e foi ter com Jesus. 51 E Jesus, falando, disse-lhe: Que queres que te faça? E o cego lhe disse: Mestre, que eu tenha vista. 52 E Jesus lhe disse: Vai, a tua fé te salvou. E logo viu, e seguiu a Jesus pelo caminho.
