1 And he entered again into a synagogue, and there-was there, a man having, his hand, withered;2 and they were narrowly watching him, whether, on the Sabbath, he would cure him, that they might accuse him.3 And he saith unto the man who hath his hand withered, Arise into the midst!4 and saith unto themIs it allowed, on the Sabbath, to do good, or to do evil? To, save, life, or, to slay? but they remained silent.5 And, looking round upon them with anger, being at the same time grieved on account of the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the manStretch forth thy hand! and he stretched it forth, and his hand, was restored.6 And, the Pharisees, going out straightway with the Herodians, were giving counsel against him, that they should, destroy, him.7 And, Jesus, with his disciples, retired unto the sea; and, a great throng from Galilee, followed, also from Judaea,8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Zidon, a great throng, hearing whatsoever things he was doing, came unto him.9 And he spake unto his disciples that a little boat might attend him, because of the multitude,that they might not be pressing upon him.10 For he cured many, so that they were besieging him, that they might touch himas many as had plagues;11 and the impure spirits, as soon as they beheld him, were falling down to him, and crying aloud, while he was speaking, Thou, art the Son of God!12 and sternly was he rebuking them, lest they should make him manifest.13 And he goeth up into the mountain and calleth near whom, he, pleased,and they went away unto him;14 and he appointed a twelve, whom also he named, Apostles,that they might be with him, and that he might be sending them forth to make proclamation,15 and to have authority to cast out the demons;16 and he appointed the twelve (and imposed a name on Simon) Peter,17 and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (and imposed on them a nameBoanerges, that is, sons of thunder);18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the zealot;19 and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up. And he cometh into a house;20 and the multitude come together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.21 And they who were near to him, hearing of it, went out to secure him,for they were sayingHe is beside himself!22 And, the Scribes who from Jerusalem had come down, were sayingHe hath, Beelzebul; andIn the ruler of the demons, casteth he out the demons.23 And, calling them near, in parables, began he to say unto themHow can, Satan, cast, Satan out?24 And, if a kingdom against itself be divided, that kingdom cannot be made to stand;25 And, if a house against itself be divided, the house shall be unable to stand;26 And, if, Satan, hath risen up against himself, and become divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.27 But, no one is able into the house of the mighty one to enter, and, his spoils, to carry off, unless, first the mighty one, he bind, and, then his house, will he plunder!28 Verily, I say unto youAll things shall be forgiven unto the sons of men,the sins and the profanities wherewithal they shall profane;29 But, whosoever shall revile against the Holy Spirit, hath no forgiveness, unto times age-abiding,but is guilty of an age-abiding sin:30 because they were sayingAn impure spirit, he hath!31 And there come his mother and his brethren, and, standing, outside, they sent unto him, calling him.32 And there was sitting around him a multitude, and they say unto himLo! thy mother and thy brethren, outside, are seeking thee!33 And, answering them, he saithWho are my mother and my brethren?34 And, looking around on them who, about him, in a circle, were sitting, he saith, See! my mother and my brethren!35 Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same, is my brother and sister and mother.

1 E outra vez entrou na sinagoga, e estava ali um homem que tinha uma das mãos mirrada. 2 E estavam observando-o se curaria no sábado, para o acusarem. 3 E disse ao homem que tinha a mão mirrada: Levanta-te e vem para o meio. 4 E perguntou-lhes: É lícito no sábado fazer bem ou fazer mal? Salvar a vida ou matar? E eles calaram-se. 5 E, olhando para eles em redor com indignação, condoendo-se da dureza do seu coração, disse ao homem: Estende a mão. E ele a estendeu, e foi-lhe restituída a mão, sã como a outra. 6 E, tendo saído os fariseus, tomaram logo conselho com os herodianos contra ele, procurando ver como o matariam.

7 E retirou-se Jesus com os seus discípulos para o mar, e seguia-o uma grande multidão da Galileia, e da Judeia, 8 e de Jerusalém, e da Idumeia, e dalém do Jordão, e de perto de Tiro, e de Sidom; uma grande multidão que, ouvindo quão grandes coisas fazia, vinha ter com ele. 9 E ele disse aos seus discípulos que lhe tivessem sempre pronto um barquinho junto dele, por causa da multidão, para que o não comprimisse, 10 porque tinha curado a muitos, de tal maneira que todos quantos tinham algum mal se arrojavam sobre ele, para lhe tocarem. 11 E os espíritos imundos, vendo-o, prostravam-se diante dele e clamavam, dizendo: Tu és o Filho de Deus. 12 E ele os ameaçava muito, para que não o manifestassem.

13 E subiu ao monte e chamou para si os que ele quis; e vieram a ele. 14 E nomeou doze para que estivessem com ele e os mandasse a pregar 15 e para que tivessem o poder de curar as enfermidades e expulsar os demônios: 16 Simão, a quem pôs o nome de Pedro; 17 Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, irmão de Tiago, aos quais pôs o nome de Boanerges, que significa: Filhos do trovão; 18 André, e Filipe, e Bartolomeu, e Mateus, e Tomé, e Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu, e Simão, o Zelote, 19 e Judas Iscariotes, o que o traiu.

20 E foram para uma casa. E afluiu outra vez a multidão, de tal maneira que nem sequer podiam comer pão. 21 E, quando os seus parentes ouviram isso, saíram para o prender, porque diziam: Está fora de si. 22 E os escribas, que tinham descido de Jerusalém, diziam: Tem Belzebu e pelo príncipe dos demônios expulsa os demônios. 23 E, chamando-os a si, disse-lhes por parábolas: Como pode Satanás expulsar Satanás? 24 Se um reino se dividir contra si mesmo, tal reino não pode subsistir; 25 e se uma casa se dividir contra si mesma, tal casa não pode subsistir. 26 Se Satanás se levantar contra si mesmo, e for dividido, não pode subsistir; antes, tem fim. 27 Ninguém pode roubar os bens do valente, entrando-lhe em sua casa, se primeiro não manietar o valente; e, então, roubará a sua casa. 28 Na verdade vos digo que todos os pecados serão perdoados aos filhos dos homens, e toda sorte de blasfêmias, com que blasfemarem. 29 Qualquer, porém, que blasfemar contra o Espírito Santo, nunca obterá perdão, mas será réu do eterno juízo. 30 (Porque diziam: Tem espírito imundo.)

31 Chegaram, então, seus irmãos e sua mãe; e, estando de fora, mandaram-no chamar. 32 E a multidão estava assentada ao redor dele, e disseram-lhe: Eis que tua mãe e teus irmãos te procuram e estão lá fora. 33 E ele lhes respondeu, dizendo: Quem é minha mãe e meus irmãos? 34 E, olhando em redor para os que estavam assentados junto dele disse: Eis aqui minha mãe e meus irmãos. 35 Porquanto qualquer que fizer a vontade de Deus, esse é meu irmão, e minha irmã, e minha mãe.
