1 Ihr sollt keine Götzen machen, keine gemeißelten Bilder, und sollt euch keine Säulen aufrichten, auch keine Steinbilder setzen in eurem Lande, daß ihr euch davor bücket; denn ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott. 2 Beobachtet meine Sabbate und verehret mein Heiligtum; ich bin der HERR! 3 Werdet ihr nun in meinen Satzungen wandeln und meine Gebote befolgen und sie tun, 4 so will ich euch Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, und das Land soll sein Gewächs geben und die Bäume auf dem Felde ihre Früchte bringen. 5 Und die Dreschzeit wird reichen bis zur Weinlese, und die Weinlese bis zur Saatzeit, und ihr werdet euch von eurem Brot satt essen und sollt sicher wohnen in eurem Lande. 6 Denn ich will Frieden geben im Lande, daß ihr schlafet und euch niemand erschrecke. Ich will die bösen Tiere aus eurem Lande vertreiben, und es soll kein Schwert über euer Land kommen. 7 Ihr werdet eure Feinde jagen, daß sie vor euch her durchs Schwert fallen. 8 Euer fünf werden hundert jagen, und euer hundert werden zehntausend jagen, und eure Feinde werden vor euch her durchs Schwert fallen. 9 Und ich will mich zu euch wenden und euch wachsen und zunehmen lassen und meinen Bund mit euch aufrechthalten. 10 Und ihr werdet von dem Vorjährigen essen und das Vorjährige wegen der Menge des Neuen hinwegtun. 11 Ich will meine Wohnung unter euch haben, und meine Seele soll euch nicht verwerfen: 12 und ich will unter euch wandeln und euer Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein. 13 Ich, der HERR, bin euer Gott, der ich euch aus Ägypten geführt habe, daß ihr nicht ihre Knechte sein solltet; und ich zerbrach die Stäbe eures Joches und ließ euch aufrecht gehen. 14 Werdet ihr mir aber nicht folgen und nicht alle diese Gebote erfüllen, 15 und werdet ihr meine Satzungen verachten, und wird eure Seele gegen meine Rechte einen Widerwillen haben, daß ihr nicht alle meine Gebote tut, sondern meinen Bund brechet, 16 so will auch ich euch solches tun: Ich will euch heimsuchen mit Schrecken, Schwindsucht und Fieberhitze, davon die Augen matt werden und die Seele verschmachtet. Ihr werdet eure Saat vergeblich bestellen; denn eure Feinde sollen sie essen. 17 Und ich will mein Angesicht gegen euch richten, daß ihr vor euren Feinden geschlagen werdet; und die euch hassen, sollen über euch herrschen, und ihr werdet fliehen, wenn euch niemand jagt. 18 Werdet ihr mir aber daraufhin noch nicht gehorchen, so will ich euch noch siebenmal ärger strafen um eurer Sünden willen, 19 daß ich euren harten Stolz breche. Ich will euren Himmel machen wie Eisen und eure Erde wie Erz, 20 daß eure Mühe und Arbeit vergeblich aufgewendet sei, und euer Land sein Gewächs nicht gebe und die Bäume des Landes ihre Früchte nicht bringen. 21 Setzet ihr mir aber noch weitern Widerstand entgegen und wollt mir nicht gehorchen, so will ich euch noch siebenmal mehr schlagen, entsprechend euren Sünden. 22 Und ich will wilde Tiere unter euch senden, die sollen euch euer Kinder berauben und euer Vieh verderben und euer weniger machen, und eure Straßen sollen wüste werden. 23 Werdet ihr euch aber dadurch noch nicht züchtigen lassen, sondern mir trotzig begegnen, 24 so will auch ich euch trotzig begegnen und euch siebenfältig schlagen um eurer Sünden willen. 25 Und ich will ein Racheschwert über euch kommen lassen, eine Bundesrache! Da werdet ihr euch in euren Städten sammeln; ich aber will Pestilenz unter euch senden und euch in eurer Feinde Hand geben. 26 Und ich werde euch den Stab des Brotes zerbrechen, daß zehn Weiber euer Brot in einem Ofen backen mögen, und man wird euch das Brot nach dem Gewicht zuteilen; und ihr werdet es essen, aber nicht satt werden. 27 Werdet ihr aber auch dadurch noch nicht zum Gehorsam gegen mich gebracht, sondern mir trotzig begegnen, 28 so will ich auch euch mit grimmigem Trotz begegnen und euch siebenfältig strafen um eurer Sünden willen, 29 daß ihr eurer Söhne und Töchter Fleisch fressen müßt! 30 Und ich will eure Höhen vertilgen und eure Sonnensäulen abhauen und eure Leichname auf die Leichname eurer Götzen werfen, und meine Seele wird euch verabscheuen. 31 Und ich will eure Städte öde machen und eure heiligen Städte verwüsten und euren lieblichen Geruch verabscheuen. 32 Also will ich das Land wüste machen, daß eure Feinde, die darinnen wohnen werden, sich davor entsetzen sollen. 33 Euch aber will ich unter die Heiden zerstreuen und das Schwert hinter euch her ausziehen, daß euer Land zur Wüste und eure Städte zu Ruinen werden. 34 Alsdann wird das Land seine Sabbate genießen, solange es wüste liegt, und ihr in eurer Feinde Land seid. Ja alsdann wird das Land feiern und seine Sabbate genießen dürfen. 35 Solange es wüste liegt, wird es feiern, weil es nicht feiern konnte an euren Sabbaten, als ihr darin wohntet. 36 Denen aber, die von euch übrigbleiben, will ich das Herz verzagt machen in ihrer Feinde Land, daß ein rauschendes Blatt sie jagen wird; und sie werden davonfliehen, als jage sie ein Schwert, und fallen, ohne daß sie jemand verfolgt. 37 Und sie sollen übereinander fallen; wie vor dem Schwert, obschon sie niemand jagt; und ihr werdet euren Feinden nicht widerstehen können, 38 sondern werdet unter den Heiden umkommen, und eurer Feinde Land wird euch fressen. 39 Welche von euch aber übrigbleiben, die sollen ob ihrer Missetat verschmachten, in eurer Feinde Land; und ob der Missetat ihrer Väter sollen sie verschmachten wie sie. 40 Werden sie aber ihre und ihrer Väter Missetat bekennen samt ihrer Übertretung, womit sie sich an mir vergriffen haben und mir trotzig begegnet sind, 41 weswegen auch ich ihnen widerstand und sie in ihrer Feinde Land brachte; und wird sich alsdann ihr unbeschnittenes Herz demütigen, so daß sie dann ihre Schuld büßen, 42 so will ich gedenken an meinen Bund mit Jakob und an meinen Bund mit Isaak und an meinen Bund mit Abraham, und will des Landes gedenken. 43 Aber das Land wird von ihnen verlassen sein und seine Sabbate genießen, indem es um ihretwillen wüste liegt, und sie werden ihre Schuld büßen, darum und deswegen, weil sie meine Rechte verachtet und ihre Seele meine Satzungen verabscheut hat. 44 Jedoch, wenn sie gleich in der Feinde Land sein werden, so will ich sie nicht gar verwerfen und sie nicht also verabscheuen, daß ich sie gar aufreibe oder meinen Bund mit ihnen breche; denn ich, der HERR, bin ihr Gott. 45 Und ich will für sie an meinen ersten Bund gedenken, als ich sie aus Ägypten führte vor den Augen der Heiden, daß ich ihr Gott wäre, ich, der HERR. 46 Das sind die Satzungen, die Rechte und Gesetze, die der HERR auf dem Berge Sinai durch die Hand Moses gegeben hat, daß sie zwischen ihm und den Kindern Israel bestehen sollten.

6 "Ā, ka tukua iho e ahau te āta noho ki te whenua, ā, ka takoto iho koutou, kāhore anō hoki he tangata hei mea i a koutou kia wehi. Ka whakakāhoretia atu anō hoki e ahau ngā kīrehe kino i te whenua, e kore anō hoki te hoari e tika nā waenga o tō koutou whenua. 7 Ā, ka whāia e koutou ō koutou hoariri, ā, ka hinga rātou i te hoari ki tō koutou aroaro. 8 Ka whāia hoki te rau kotahi e te tokorima o koutou, ā, ka whati ngā mano kotahi tekau i te rau kotahi o koutou; nā, ka hinga ō koutou hoariri i te hoari ki tō koutou aroaro.

9 "Ka whai whakaaro hoki ahau ki a koutou, ā, ka meinga koutou kia hua, kia tini; ā, ka pūmau tāku kawenata ki a koutou. 10 Ā, ka kai koutou i te kai kua roa e pakoko ana, ā, ka whakaputa i te pakoko ki waho mō te hua hou. 11 Ā, ka whakatūria e ahau tāku tapenākara ki waenganui i a koutou, e kore anō tōku wairua e whakarihariha ki a koutou. 12 Ka hāereere anō hoki ahau i roto i a koutou, ā, hei Atua ahau mō koutou, ko koutou hoki hei iwi māku. 13 Ko Ihowā ahau, ko tō koutou Atua i kawe mai nei i a koutou i te whenua o Īhipa, kei waiho hei pononga mā rātou; motu pū hoki i ahau ngā here o tō koutou ioka, ā, meinga ana koutou kia haere tū."

14 "Tēnā ko tēnei, ka kore koutou e whakarongo ki ahau, ka kore e mahi i ēnei whakahau katoa; 15 ā, ka whakahāwea ki āku tikanga, ka whakarihariha rānei ō koutou wairua ki āku whakaritenga, ā, kāhore e mahia āku whakahau katoa, engari ka whakatakā tāku kawenata. 16 Nā, ka meinga anō hoki tēnei e ahau ki a koutou; ka meinga e ahau hei rangatira mō koutou te pāwera, te kohi, me te kirikā, hei ngau i ngā kanohi, hei whakapōuri i te ngākau. 21 "Ā, ki te anga kē atu tā koutou haere i ahau, ki te kore e rongo ki ahau; nā, ka hoatu e ahau kia whitu atu anō ngā whiu ki a koutou, kia rite ki ō koutou hara. 22 Ka tukua anō e ahau te kīrehe koraha ki a koutou, hei kāwhaki i ā koutou tama, hei whakamōtī i ā koutou kararehe, hei mea i a koutou kia torutoru; ā, ka ururuatia ō koutou huanui.

23 "Ā, ki te kāhore koutou e hoki ake ki te pai i ēnei meatanga āku, ā, ka anga kē atu koutou i ahau; 24 heoi, ka anga kē atu hoki ahau i a koutou; ā, ka whiua koutou e ahau, e ahau anō nei, kia whitu atu anō, mō ō koutou hara. 25 Ā, ka kawea e ahau he hoari ki a koutou, hei tohe i te utu mō tāku kawenata. 36 "Tēnā ko ngā mōrehu o koutou ka ungā e ahau he whakangohe ki ō rātou ngākau i ngā whenua o ō rātou hoariri; ā, ka whati rātou i te ngaehe rau rākau e āia ana; ā, ka rere rātou, ānō e rere ana i te hoari; ā, ka hinga ahakoa kāhore he kaiwhai. 37 Ā, ka tutetute rātou tētahi ki tētahi, ānō e whāia ana e te hoari, i te mea kāhore he kaiwhai. 40 "Ā, ka whākina e rātou tō rātou kino, me te kino o ō rātou mātua, i tō rātou haranga i hara ai ki ahau, me tō rātou haerenga kētanga atu i tāku – 41 i anga kē atu ai ahau i a rātou, i kawea ai rātou ki te whenua o ō rātou hoariri; ki te iro i reira ō rātou ngākau kokotikore, ā, ka whakaae ki te pakinga mō tō rātou kino. 42 Kātahi ahau ka mahara ki tāku kawenata ki a Hākopa; ki tāku kawenata hoki ki a Īhaka; ka mahara anō ki tāku kawenata ki a Āperahama; ka mahara ki te whenua. 43 Ka mahue anō te whenua i a rātou, ā, ka koa ki ōna hāpati, i a ia e takoto tūhea ana, i te mea kāhore nei rātou: me rātou hoki, ka whakaae ki te whiu mō tō rātou kino. Ko Ihowā hoki ahau, ko tō rātou Atua. 45 Engari, he mea mō rātou, ka mahara ahau ki te kawenata o ō rātou tūpuna, i kawea mai nei e ahau i te whenua o Īhipa i te tirohanga a ngā tauiwi, ki ahau hei Atua mō rātou. Ko ahau a Ihowā."
