1 Por esta razão eu Paulo, o prisioneiro de Cristo Jesus por amor de vós gentios;2 se é que ouvistes a dispensação da graça de Deus, que me foi dada para convosco;3 segundo me foi pela revelação manifestado o mistério, como antes vos escrevi em poucas palavras,4 pelo qual, quando ledes, podeis entender o meu conhecimento no mistério de Cristo,5 o qual em outras gerações não foi manifestado aos filhos dos homens, como agora tem sido revelado aos seus santos apóstolos e profetas no Espírito;6 a saber, que os gentios são co-herdeiros e membros do mesmo corpo e co-participantes da promessa em Cristo Jesus por meio do Evangelho,7 do qual fui feito ministro segundo o dom da graça de Deus, que me foi dada conforme a operação do seu poder.8 A mim, que sou menor do que o mínimo de todos os santos, foi dada essa graça de anunciar aos gentios as riquezas inescrutáveis de Cristo,9 e trazer à luz qual a dispensação do mistério que tem estado escondido desde os séculos em Deus que criou todas as coisas,10 para que agora a multiforme sabedoria de Deus, por meio da igreja, fosse conhecida aos principados e potestades nas regiões celestes,11 segundo o propósito dos séculos, que ele fez em Cristo Jesus nosso Senhor,12 no qual temos a nossa ousadia e entrada em confiança por meio da nossa fé nele.13 Por isso vos rogo que não desanimeis nas minhas tribulações por vós, as quais são a vossa glória.14 Por esta causa dobro os meus joelhos ao Pai,15 de quem toma o nome toda a família nos céus e sobre a terra,16 para que ele vos conceda, conforme as riquezas da sua glória, que sejais robustecidos com poder pelo seu Espírito no homem interior;17 que habite Cristo pela fé em vossos corações, sendo vós arraigados e fundados em amor,18 a fim de poderdes compreender com todos os santos qual é a largura e o comprimento e a altura e a profundidade,19 e conhecer o amor de Cristo, que sobrepuja a ciência, para que sejais cheios até a inteira plenitude de Deus.20 Ora, àquele que é poderoso para fazer infinitamente mais do que tudo quanto pedimos ou pensamos, segundo o poder que opera em nós,21 a esse seja glória na igreja e em Cristo Jesus por todas as gerações do século dos séculos. 1 For this reason I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles.2 Surely you have heard about the responsibility of administering God's grace that was given to me on your behalf,3 and how this secret was made known to me through a revelation, just as I wrote about briefly in the past.4 By reading this, you will be able to grasp my understanding of the secret about Christ,5 which in previous generations was not made known to human beings as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets:6 The Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow sharers of what was promised in Christ Jesus through the gospel.7 I have become a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God's grace that was given me by the working of his power.8 To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given so that I might proclaim to the Gentiles the immeasurable wealth of Christ9 and help everyone see how this secret, which was hidden for ages in God who created all things, has been at work.10 He did this so that now, through the church, the wisdom of God in all its variety might be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm11 in keeping with the eternal purpose that God carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord,12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through his faithfulness.13 So then, I ask you not to become discouraged because of my troubles on your behalf, which are your glory.14 This is the reason I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name.16 I pray that he would give you, according to his glorious riches, strength in your inner being and power through his Spirit,17 and that Christ would make his home in your hearts through faith. Then, having been rooted and grounded in love,18 you will be able to understand, along with all the saints, what is wide, long, high, and deep—19 that is, you will know the love of Christ, which goes far beyond knowledge, and will be filled with all the fullness of God.20 Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us—21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever!
