1 Para a liberdade Cristo nos livrou; portanto ficai firmes e não vos sujeiteis de novo a um jugo de escravidão.2 Eis que eu, Paulo, vos declaro que, se vos circuncidardes, Cristo de nada vos aproveitará.3 De novo testifico a todo o homem que se circuncida, que está obrigado a guardar a Lei toda.4 Estais já separados de Cristo os que vos justificais pela Lei; decaístes da graça.5 Nós por meio do Espírito pela fé aguardamos a esperança da justiça.6 Pois em Cristo Jesus nem a circuncisão vale coisa alguma, nem a incircuncisão; mas a fé que opera por amor.7 Corríeis bem; quem vos impediu de obedecer à verdade?8 Esta persuasão não vem daquele que vos chama.9 Um pouco de fermento leveda a massa inteira.10 Eu confio de vós no Senhor que não tereis outro modo de pensar; mas aquele que vos perturba, seja quem for, levará sobre si a condenação.11 Mas quanto a mim, irmãos, se ainda estou pregando a circuncisão, por que ainda sou perseguido? Logo está desfeita a ofensa da cruz.12 Oxalá que fossem além da circuncisão os que vos inquietam.13 Vós, irmãos, fostes chamados à liberdade: porém não useis da liberdade para dar ocasião à carne, mas num espírito de amor sede servos uns dos outros.14 Pois toda a Lei se resume em um só preceito, a saber: Amarás ao teu próximo como a ti mesmo.15 Mas se vós vos mordeis e devorais uns aos outros, vede que não vos consumais uns aos outros.16 Porém digo: Andai pelo Espírito, e não satisfareis a cobiça da carne.17 Pois a carne luta contra o Espírito e o Espírito contra a carne, porque estes são opostos um ao outro; de sorte que não façais as coisas que quereis.18 Se, porém, sois guiados pelo Espírito, não estais debaixo da Lei.19 Ora as obras da carne são manifestas, as quais são: a fornicação, a impureza, a lascívia,20 a idolatria, a feitiçaria, as inimizades, as contendas, os ciúmes, as iras, as facções, as dissensões, os partidos,21 as invejas, as bebedices, as orgias, e outras coisas semelhantes, contra as quais vos previno, como já vos preveni, que os que tais coisas praticam, não herdarão o reino de Deus.22 Mas o fruto do Espírito é a caridade, o gozo, a paz, a longanimidade, a benignidade, a bondade, a fidelidade,23 a mansidão, a temperança; contra tais coisas não há lei.24 Os que são de Cristo Jesus, crucificaram a carne com as suas paixões e cobiças.25 Se vivemos pelo Espírito, andemos também pelo Espírito.26 Não nos tornemos vangloriosos, provocando uns aos outros, tendo inveja uns dos outros.

1 Christ has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. So keep on standing firm in it, and stop attaching yourselves to the yoke of slavery again.2 Listen! I, Paul, am telling you that if you allow yourselves to be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you.3 Again, I insist that everyone who allows himself to be circumcised is obligated to obey the entire law.4 Those of you who are trying to be justified by the law have been cut off from Christ. You have fallen away from grace.5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. What matters is faith that is active through love.7 You were running beautifully! Who cut in on you and stopped you from obeying the truth?8 Such influence does not come from the one who calls you.9 A little yeast spreads through the whole batch of dough.10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view of the matter. However, the one who is troubling you will suffer God's judgment, whoever he is.11 As for me, brothers, if I am still preaching the necessity of circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.12 I wish that those who are unsettling you would castrate themselves!13 For you, brothers, were called to freedom. Only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity to gratify your flesh, but through love make it your habit to serve one another.14 For the whole law is summarized in a single statement: "You must love your neighbor as yourself."15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you are not destroyed by each other.16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never fulfill the desires of the flesh.17 For what the flesh wants is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit wants is opposed to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, and so you do not do what you want to do.18 But if you are being led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, promiscuity,20 idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, rivalry, jealously, outbursts of anger, quarrels, conflicts, factions,21 envy, murder, drunkenness, wild partying, and things like that. I am telling you now, as I have told you in the past, that people who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires.25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.26 Let us stop being arrogant, provoking one another and envying one another.
