O novo céu e a nova terra

1 Vi um *Is 65.17;66.22;2Pe 3.13novo céu e uma nova terra, porque *Ap 20.11; cp.2Pe 3.10o primeiro céu e a primeira terra já se foram, e o mar já não é. 2 Vi também *Ap 21.10;Ap 22.19;Ap 11.2a Cidade Santa, *Ap 3.12; cp.Ap 21.10a nova Jerusalém, *Ap 21.10; cp.Hb 11.10,16descendo do céu, da parte de Deus, *Ap 21.9;Ap 22.17;Ap 19.7; cp.Is 61.10preparada como uma noiva adornada para seu noivo. 3 Ouvi uma grande voz, vinda do trono, dizendo: Eis *Lv 26.11s.;Ez 37.27;48.35;Ap 7.15; cp.Hb 8.2o tabernáculo de Deus está com os homens, e *Jo 14.23;2Co 6.16ele habitará com eles; eles serão o seu povo, e Deus mesmo estará com eles. 4 e *Ap 7.17enxugará toda lágrima dos olhos deles. *Ap 20.14; cp.1Co 15.26Não haverá mais morte, *Is 25.8;35.10;51.11;65.19nem haverá mais pranto, nem choro, nem dor, porque *2Co 5.17; cp.Hb 12.27as primeiras coisas são passadas. 5 Disse *Ap 20.11;Ap 4.9aquele que estava sentado sobre o trono: Eis que faço novas todas as coisas. Disse-me ele também: Escreve, porque *Ap 22.6; vd.19.9estas palavras são fiéis e verdadeiras. 6 Disse-me ainda: *Ap 16.17; cp.10.6Tudo está cumprido. Eu sou *Ap 1.8;22.13o Alfa e o Ômega, o Princípio e o Fim. Àquele que tem sede, *Ap 22.17;Is 55.1;Jo 4.10; cp.Ap 7.17eu lhe darei a beber gratuitamente da fonte da *Ap 7.17água da vida. 7 *Ap 2.7O vencedor herdará essas coisas; *Ap 21.3;2Sm 7.14;2Co 6.16,18eu serei o seu Deus, e ele será meu filho. 8 *Ap 21.27;Ap 22.15;1Co 6.9;Gl 5.19-21;Ap 9.21Mas, quanto aos medrosos, e aos incrédulos, e aos abomináveis, e aos homicidas, e aos fornicários, e aos feiticeiros, e aos idólatras, e a todos os mentirosos, sua parte será *Ap 19.20no lago que arde com fogo e enxofre, que é *Ap 2.11a segunda morte.

A nova Jerusalém

9 *Ap 17.1Veio um dos sete anjos que tinham as *Ap 15.7sete taças cheias das *Ap 15.1sete últimas pragas e falou comigo: *Ap 17.1Vem cá, e mostrar-te-ei a *Ap 21.2;Ap 19.7noiva, a esposa do Cordeiro. 10 *Ap 17.3;Ez 40.2Levou-me, *cp.Ap 1.10pelo Espírito, a um grande e alto monte e mostrou-me *Ap 21.2a Santa Cidade de Jerusalém, descendo do céu, da parte de Deus, 11 e tendo *Ap 15.8;Ap 21.23; cp.Is 60.1s.;Ez 43.2;Ap 22.5a glória de Deus. O seu brilho era semelhante a uma pedra preciosíssima, como *Ap 21.18-19;Ap 4.3pedra de jaspe *Ap 4.6cristalina. 12 Tinha um muro grande e alto. Tinha *Ez 48.31-34doze *Ap 21.15,21,25;Ap 22.14portas, e, junto às portas, doze anjos, e, sobre elas, nomes escritos, que são os da doze tribos dos filhos de Israel. 13 Três portas estavam ao oriente; três portas, ao norte; três portas, ao sul; e três portas, ao ocidente. 14 O muro da cidade tinha *Ef 2.20;Hb 11.10doze fundamentos e sobre estes os doze nomes dos *cp.At 1.26doze apóstolos do Cordeiro. 15 O que falava comigo tinha uma *Ap 11.1cana de ouro, que servia de medida, para medir a cidade, *Ap 21.21,25;Ap 21.12as suas portas e o seu muro. 16 A cidade é quadrangular, de comprimento igual à largura. Ele mediu a cidade com a cana, e tinha doze mil estádios; o seu comprimento, e a sua largura, e a sua altura são iguais. 17 Mediu também o seu muro, e ele tinha cento e quarenta e quatro cúbitos, segundo a medida *cp.Dt 3.11;Ap 13.18de homem, isto é, *Ap 21.9de anjo. 18 O muro era construído de jaspe, e a cidade era de *Ap 21.21ouro semelhante a *Ap 4.6vidro puro. 19 *cp.Is 54.11s.;Ap 21.19-20; cp.Êx 28.16-21;Ez 28.13Os fundamentos do muro da cidade eram adornados com toda espécie de pedras preciosas. O primeiro fundamento era de jaspe; o segundo, de safira; o terceiro, de calcedônia; o quarto, de *Ap 4.3esmeralda; 20 o quinto, de sardônio; o sexto, de sárdio; o sétimo, de crisólito; o oitavo, de berilo; o nono, de topázio; o décimo, de crisópraso; o undécimo, de jacinto; e o duodécimo, de ametista. 21 As doze portas eram doze *cp.Ap 17.4;Is 54.12pérolas; e cada uma das portas era feita de uma só pérola. A rua da cidade era de *Ap 21.18ouro puro como *Ap 21.18vidro transparente. 22 Não vi nela *Jo 4.21; cp.Mt 24.2santuário, porque o *Ap 1.8Senhor Deus Todo-Poderoso, e *Ap 5.6;7.17;14.4, etc.o Cordeiro são o seu santuário. 23 A cidade *Is 60.19-20; cp.24.23;Ap 21.25;Ap 22.5não precisa do sol nem da lua para a iluminar; porque *Ap 21.11a glória de Deus a iluminou, e o Cordeiro é a sua candeia. 24 *Is 60.3,5; cp.Ap 22.2As nações caminharão à sua luz, e *Sl 72.10s.;Is 49.23;60.16;Ap 21.26os reis da terra lhe trarão a sua glória. 25 *Ap 21.15As suas portas *Is 60.11não se fecharão de dia, porque *Ap 22.5; cp.Ap 21.23;Zc 14.7noite não haverá ali. 26 A ela trarão a glória e a honra das nações. 27 *Ap 22.14s.; cp.Is 52.1;Ez 44.9;Zc 14.21Nela não entrará coisa alguma impura, nem o que pratica abominação e mentira, mas somente os que estão *Ap 3.5escritos no livro da vida do Cordeiro.

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
