Lucas 12

O fermento dos fariseus. Algumas admoestações

1 Entretanto, tendo-se ajuntado milhares de pessoas, de modo que uns a outros se atropelavam, começou Jesus a dizer, primeiro, a seus discípulos: *Mt 16.6,11ss.;Mc 8.15Guardai-vos do fermento dos fariseus, que é a hipocrisia. 2 *Lc 12.2-9;Mt 10.26-33Nada há *Lc 8.17;Mt 10.26;Mc 4.22encoberto que se não venha a descobrir; nem oculto que se não venha a saber. 3 Por isso, o que dissestes nas trevas à luz será ouvido; o que falastes ao ouvido no interior da casa será proclamado dos *Mt 10.27;Mt 24.17eirados. 4 Digo-vos, *Jo 15.13-15amigos meus, não temais aos que matam o corpo e, depois disso, nada mais podem fazer. 5 Mas eu vos mostrarei a quem haveis de temer: *Hb 10.31temei aquele que, depois de matar, tem poder de lançar-vos na *Mt 5.22Geena. Sim, digo-vos: Temei a este. 6 Não se vendem *cp.Mt 10.29cinco passarinhos por dois asses*Um asse valia cerca de 30 réis, moeda brasileira.? E nem um deles está esquecido diante de Deus. 7 *Mt 10.30Mas até os cabelos da vossa cabeça estão todos contados. Não temais; de maior valia sois vós que muitos passarinhos. 8 Digo-vos ainda: todo aquele que me confessar diante dos homens, também o Filho do Homem o confessará *cp.Mt 10.32;Lc 15.10;Rm 10.9perante os anjos de Deus; 9 mas *cp.Lc 9.26;Mt 10.33o que me negar diante dos homens será negado perante os anjos de Deus. 10 *cp.Mt 12.31-32;Mc 3.28-30Todo aquele que proferir uma palavra contra o Filho do Homem, isso lhe será perdoado; mas o que blasfemar contra o Espírito Santo não lhe será perdoado. 11 Quando vos levarem *cp.Mt 10.17perante as sinagogas, os magistrados e as autoridades, *Lc 12.22;Mt 6.25;10.19;Mc 13.11; cp.Lc 21.14não cuideis como, ou o que haveis de responder, ou no que haveis de falar; 12 porque *Mt 10.20; cp.Lc 21.15o Espírito Santo vos ensinará, naquela hora, o que deveis dizer.

Jesus reprova a um avarento

13 Um homem disse-lhe do meio da multidão: Mestre, manda a meu irmão que reparta comigo a herança. 14 Mas ele lhe respondeu: *cp.Mq 6.8;Rm 2.1,3;9.20Homem, quem me constituiu juiz ou partidor entre vós? 15 Disse ao povo: *cp.1Tm 6.6-10Olhai e guardai-vos de toda avareza, porque a vida de um homem não consiste na abundância das coisas que possui. 16 Então, lhes expôs uma parábola, dizendo: As terras de um homem rico produziram muito fruto. 17 Ele discorria consigo: Que hei de fazer, pois não tenho onde recolher os meus frutos? 18 Disse: Farei isto: derribarei os meus celeiros, e os construirei maiores, e aí guardarei toda a colheita e os meus bens; 19 e direi à minha alma: Minha alma, *cp.Ec 11.9tens muitos bens em depósito para largos anos; descansa, come, bebe, regala-te. 20 Mas Deus disse-lhe: *Jr 17.11;Lc 11.40Insensato, esta noite *Jó 27.8te exigirão a tua alma; e *Sl 39.6as coisas que ajuntaste, para quem serão? 21 Assim é aquele que *cp.Lc 12.33entesoura para si e não é rico para com Deus.

A ansiosa solicitude pela vida

22 *Lc 12.22-31;Mt 6.25-33Jesus disse a seus discípulos: Portanto, vos digo: não andeis cuidadosos da vida, pelo que haveis de comer, nem do corpo, pelo que haveis de vestir. 23 Pois a vida é mais que o alimento, e o corpo, mais que o vestido. 24 Considerai *Jó 38.41os corvos, que não semeiam, nem ceifam, não têm despensa nem *Lc 12.18celeiro; contudo, Deus os alimenta. Quanto mais valeis vós do que as aves! 25 Qual de vós, por mais ansioso que esteja, pode acrescentar um *cp.Sl 39.5cúbito à sua estatura? 26 Se, pois, não podeis fazer nem as coisas mínimas, por que estais ansiosos pelas outras? 27 Considerai os lírios, como não trabalham, nem fiam; contudo, vos digo que nem *1Rs 10.4-7Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu como um deles. 28 Pois, se Deus assim veste a erva no campo, que hoje existe e amanhã é lançada no forno, quanto mais a vós, *Mt 6.30homens de pouca fé! 29 Não procureis o que haveis de comer ou beber, *cp.Mt 6.31nem andeis solícitos; 30 porque os homens do mundo é que procuram todas essas coisas; mas vosso Pai sabe que precisais delas. 31 Buscai, antes, o seu reino, *Mt 6.33e essas coisas vos serão acrescentadas. 32 *Mt 14.27Não temas, *cp.Jo 21.15-17pequeno rebanho; porque *cp.Ef 1.5,9é do agrado de vosso Pai dar-vos o reino. 33 *Mt 19.21;Lc 18.22; cp.11.41Vendei o que possuis e dai esmolas; fazei para vós bolsas que não envelheçam, *Mt 6.20; cp.Lc 12.21um tesouro inexaurível nos céus, onde o ladrão não chega, nem a traça rói; 34 *Mt 6.21porque, onde está o vosso tesouro, aí estará também o vosso coração.

A parábola do servo vigilante

35 *Lc 12.35-36; cp.Mt 25.1ss.Estejam cingidas *cp.Ef 6.14;1Pe 1.13as vossas cintas, e acesas, as vossas candeias; 36 e sede vós semelhantes a homens que esperam pelo seu senhor, ao voltar ele das bodas; para que, quando vier e bater à porta, logo lha abram. 37 Bem-aventurados aqueles servos a quem o senhor achar *Mt 24.42vigiando, quando vier; em verdade vos digo *Lc 17.8;Jo 13.4que ele se cingirá, os fará sentar à mesa e, chegando-se, os servirá. 38 Quer ele venha na *Mt 24.43segunda vigília, quer na terceira, bem-aventurados serão eles, se assim os achar. 39 *Lc 12.39-40;Mt 24.43-44Mas sabei que, se o dono da casa tivesse sabido a que hora havia de vir o ladrão, não o haveria deixado *Mt 6.19arrombar a sua casa. 40 *cp.Lc 21.36;Mc 13.33Estai vós também apercebidos, porque, à hora que não pensais, virá o Filho do Homem.

A parábola dos servos bons e maus

41 Pedro perguntou-lhe: Senhor, diriges esta parábola a nós ou também *cp.Lc 12.47-48a todos? 42 *Lc 7.13Respondeu o Senhor: *Lc 12.42-46;Mt 24.45-51Quem é, pois, *cp.Mt 24.45;Lc 16.1ss.o despenseiro fiel e prudente, ao qual o seu senhor confiará a direção da sua casa, para que, em tempo devido, distribua o alimento? 43 Bem-aventurado aquele *Lc 12.42servo a quem o seu senhor, quando vier, achar assim fazendo. 44 Em verdade vos digo que lhe confiará todos os seus bens. 45 Mas, se aquele servo disser no seu coração: Meu senhor tarda em vir, e começar a espancar os criados e as criadas, a comer, a beber e a embriagar-se, 46 virá o senhor daquele servo no dia em que não o espera e na hora que ele não sabe, e o cortará pelo meio, e lhe dará parte com os infiéis. 47 Aquele servo, que soube a vontade do seu senhor e não se preparou, nem fez conforme a sua vontade será *Dt 25.2castigado com muitos açoites; 48 aquele, porém, *Lv 5.17;Nm 15.29s.que não a soube, e fez coisas que mereciam castigos será punido com poucos açoites. *cp.Mt 13.12De todo aquele a quem muito é dado, muito será requerido; e daquele a quem muito é confiado, mais ainda lhe será exigido.

Jesus traz fogo e dissensão à terra

49 Vim lançar fogo à terra e que mais quero, se ele já está aceso? 50 Mas tenho de ser batizado *Mc 10.38com um batismo e como me angustio até que ele se cumpra! 51 *Lc 12.51-53;Mt 10.34-36Pensais que vim trazer paz à terra? Não, eu vo-lo digo, mas divisão; 52 porque, de ora em diante, haverá numa casa cinco pessoas divididas: três contra duas, e duas contra três; 53 estarão divididas: *Mq 7.6;Mt 10.21o pai contra seu filho, e o filho contra seu pai; a mãe contra sua filha, e a filha contra sua mãe; a sogra contra sua nora, e a nora contra sua sogra.

Os sinais dos tempos

54 Disse também à multidão: *cp.Mt 16.2s.Quando virdes aparecer uma nuvem no poente, logo dizeis que vem chuva, e assim acontece; 55 e, quando virdes soprar o vento sul, dizeis que haverá *cp.Mt 20.12calor, e assim acontece. 56 Hipócritas, *Mt 16.3sabeis distinguir o aspecto da terra e do céu; como, então, não distinguis este tempo? 57 Porque não julgais também *cp.Lc 21.30por vós mesmos o que é justo. 58 Quando, pois, *Lc 12.58-59;Mt 5.25-26vais com o teu adversário ao magistrado, faze o possível para te livrar dele no caminho; para que não suceda que ele te arraste ao juiz, o juiz te entregará ao meirinho, e o meirinho te lançará na prisão. 59 Digo-te que não sairás dali até pagares o último *Mc 12.42centavo.

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. 23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. 24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? 25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? 26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; 36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. 38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? 57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
