Lamentações dos aflitos

1 Eu sou o homem que *Jó 19.21;Sl 88.7,15-16;Jr 15.17-18viu a aflição causada pela vara do seu furor.

2 Ele guiou-me e fez-me andar *Jó 30.26;Is 59.9;Jr 4.23nas trevas e não na luz.

3 Certamente, fez *Sl 38.2;Is 5.25virar e revirar a sua mão contra mim o dia todo.

4 Gastou *Sl 31.9-10;38.2-8;102.3-5a minha carne e a minha pele, quebrou-me *Sl 51.8;Is 38.13;Jr 50.17os ossos.

5 *Jó 19.8Levantou trincheiras contra mim e cercou-me de *Lm 3.19;Sl 69.21;Jr 23.15fel e de trabalho.

6 Fez-me habitar em *Sl 88.5-6;143.3lugares tenebrosos, como os que estão mortos para sempre.

7 *Jó 3.23;19.8Cercou-me de uma sebe, de sorte que eu não posso sair; *Jr 40.4agravou os meus grilhões.

8 Quando grito e clamo por socorro, *Jó 30.20;Sl 22.2ele exclui a minha oração.

9 *Os 2.6Fechou os meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, fez *Is 63.17tortas as minhas veredas.

10 Fez-me como *Os 13.8;Am 5.18-19urso de emboscada, como leão em esconderijos.

11 Desviou os meus caminhos *Jó 16.12-13;Jr 15.3e fez-me em pedaços; tornou-me em desolação.

13 Meteu nos meus rins as flechas da sua *Jr 5.16aljava.

14 Estou feito um *Sl 22.6-7;123.3-4;Jr 20.7objeto de escárnio para todo o meu povo e *Lm 3.63;Jó 30.9o assunto da sua canção, o dia todo.

15 Encheu-me de *Lm 3.19;Rt 1.20;Jr 9.15amargura, fartou-me de absinto.

16 *Sl 3.7;58.6Quebrou-me os dentes com *Pv 20.17pedrinhas, cobriu-me de *Jr 6.26cinzas.

17 *Is 59.11;Jr 12.12Alongaste da paz a minha alma; estou esquecido da prosperidade.

18 Eu disse: Já pereceu de Jeová a minha força e *Jó 17.15;Ez 37.11a minha expectação.

19 Lembra-te da minha aflição e do meu andar errante, *Lm 3.5,15;Jr 9.15do absinto e do fel.

20 A minha alma ainda os conserva *Jó 21.6;Hb 10.34na memória e *Sl 42.5-6,11;43.5;44.25está abatida dentro de mim.

21 Torno a trazer isso à mente; portanto, tenho *Sl 130.7esperança.

22 As *Sl 78.38;Jr 3.12;30.11misericórdias de Jeová são a causa de não sermos consumidos, *Ml 3.6porque não falham as suas misericórdias.

23 *Sf 3.5Novas são cada manhã; grande é a tua fidelidade.

24 A minha *Sl 16.5;73.26porção é Jeová, diz a minha alma; portanto, *Sl 33.18esperarei nele.

25 Bom é Jeová *Sl 27.14;Is 25.9para os que esperam por ele, para a alma *Is 26.9que o busca.

26 Boa coisa é *Sl 52.9;1Pe 1.13esperar e *Sl 40.1;Is 30.15aguardar, em silêncio, a salvação de Jeová.

27 Bom é para o homem *Ec 12.1levar o jugo na sua mocidade.

28 Que *Lm 2.10;Sl 39.2,9se assente ele, sozinho, e fique calado, porque Jeová o pôs sobre ele.

29 Ponha a sua boca *Jó 16.15;40.4no pó, a ver se há *Jr 31.17esperança.

30 Dê a sua *Jó 16.10;Is 50.6face ao que o fere; farte-se de opróbrio

31 Pois o Senhor *Sl 77.7,10;94.14;Is 54.7-10não rejeitará para sempre.

32 Embora entristeça, contudo, terá *Sl 78.38;106.43-45;Os 11.8compaixão segundo a multidão das suas misericórdias.

33 Porquanto *Jr 31.20;Ez 33.11não aflige, nem oprime os filhos dos homens.

34 O *Is 14.17esmagar debaixo dos pés todos os presos da terra,

35 o perverter o *Sl 140.12;Pv 17.15direito de um homem diante do Altíssimo,

36 o *Jr 22.3;Hc 1.13subverter ao homem no seu pleito não são do agrado do Senhor.

37 Quem é o que diz uma coisa *Sl 33.9-11;Pv 19.21;21.30que se realiza, quando o Senhor o não mandar?

38 Acaso, não é da boca do Altíssimo *Jó 2.10;Is 45.7;Jr 32.42que saem o mal e o bem?

39 Por que *Jr 30.15;Mq 7.9;Hb 12.5-6se queixa o vivente? Por que se queixa o varão do castigo dos seus pecados?

Esperança de auxílio pela misericórdia de Deus

40 *Sl 119.59;139.23-24;2Co 13.5Esquadrinhemos e provemos os nossos caminhos e voltemos a Jeová.

41 *Sl 25.1;28.2;141.2Levantemos os nossos corações com as mãos a Deus, que está nos céus.

42 Nós *Ne 9.26;Jr 14.20;Dn 9.5transgredimos e nos rebelamos; tu *2Rs 24.4;Jr 5.7,9não nos perdoaste.

43 Cobriste-nos *Lm 2.21de ira e *Lm 3.66;Sl 83.15nos perseguiste; mataste-nos *Lm 2.2,17,21e não mostraste piedade.

45 Puseste-nos como *Lm 3.45;4.15;1Co 4.13escória e refugo no meio dos povos.

46 Todos os nossos inimigos *Lm 2.16;Jó 30.9-10;Sl 22.6-8abriram contra nós a sua boca.

47 *Is 24.17-18;Jr 48.43-44O pavor e a cova são vindos sobre nós, a assolação e a destruição.

48 Dos meus *Lm 1.16;2.11,18;Sl 119.136;Jr 9.1,18olhos correm rios de água, por causa da destruição da filha do meu povo.

49 Os meus olhos derramam lágrimas *Sl 77.2;Jr 14.17e não cessam, sem haver intermissão,

50 até que Jeová *Lm 5.1;Sl 80.14;Is 63.15olhe e veja lá do céu.

51 Os meus *Jr 14.18olhos afligem a minha alma por causa de todos os filhos da minha cidade.

53 Cortaram-me a vida na *Jr 37.16masmorra e puseram sobre mim uma pedra.

64 Tu, Jeová, *Sl 28.4;Jr 51.6,24,56lhes darás a recompensa segundo a obra das suas mãos.

65 Dar-lhes-ás *Êx 14.8;Dt 2.30;Is 6.10dureza de coração, dar-lhes-ás a tua maldição.

66 Em ira os *Lm 3.43;Êx 14.28;Sl 35.6perseguirás, e os destruirás de debaixo dos céus *Sl 8.3;Is 66.1de Jeová.

1 I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath. 2 He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light. 3 Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day. 4 My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones. 5 He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail. 6 He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old. 7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy. 8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer. 9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked. 10 He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places. 11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate. 12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. 13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.*3.13 arrows: Heb. sons 14 I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day. 15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.*3.15 bitterness: Heb. bitternesses 16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.*3.16 covered…: or, rolled me in the ashes 17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.*3.17 prosperity: Heb. good 18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: 19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.*3.19 Remembering: or, Remember 20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.*3.20 humbled: Heb. bowed

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.*3.21 recall…: Heb. make to return to my heart

22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. 27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. 28 He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him. 29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope. 30 He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach. 31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever: 32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. 33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.*3.33 willingly: Heb. from his heart 34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, 35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,*3.35 the most High: or, a superior 36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.*3.36 approveth not: or, seeth not

37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? 38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? 39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?*3.39 complain: or, murmur 40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. 41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. 43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied. 44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. 45 Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. 46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. 47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction. 48 Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people. 49 Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission, 50 Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven. 51 Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.*3.51 mine heart: Heb. my soul*3.51 because…: or, more than all 52 Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause. 53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me. 54 Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

55 I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon. 56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry. 57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. 58 O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life. 59 O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause. 60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me. 61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me; 62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day. 63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

64 Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands. 65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.*3.65 sorrow…: or, obstinacy of heart 66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
