O castigo de diversos povos

1 Oráculo da palavra de Jeová contra a terra de Hadraque, *Is 17.1e Damasco será o seu lugar de descanso; pois os olhos do homem e de todas as tribos de Israel estão voltados para Jeová; 2 também *Jr 49.23Hamate, que confina com ela, *Ez 28.3-5,12Tiro juntamente *Ez 28.21com Sidom, porque é muito sábio. 3 Tiro edificou para si *Js 19.29;2Sm 24.7um lugar forte, *Jó 27.16;Ez 27.33;28.4-5e amontoou prata como o pó *1Rs 10.21,27e ouro fino como a lama das ruas. 4 Eis que o Senhor *Ez 26.3-5a desapossará e ferirá o seu poder no mar, e ela será *Ez 28.18devorada pelo fogo. 5 *Am 1.6-8;Sf 2.4-5Asquelom o verá e terá medo; também Gaza e ficará passada de dor; e Ecrom, porque a sua esperança será envergonhada; de Gaza perecerá o rei, e Asquelom não será habitada. 6 Um bastardo habitará em Asdode, e exterminarei a soberba dos filisteus. 7 *Ez 25.15-17Tirarei da sua boca o seu sangue e, dentre os seus dentes, as suas abominações; ficará também ele de resto para o nosso Deus; e será como chefe em Judá, e Ecrom, como jebuseu.

O Rei humilde de Sião e o seu vasto domínio

Ele anunciará *Is 57.19;Mq 4.2-4a paz às nações; o seu *Sl 72.8;Is 60.12domínio se estenderá de mar a mar e desde o rio até as extremidades da terra.

11 Quanto a ti, por causa do *Êx 24.8;Hb 10.29sangue da tua aliança, tenho feito aos teus *Is 24.22;51.14presos sair da cova em que não há água. 12 Voltai para *Jr 16.19;Jl 3.16o lugar forte, ó presos da *Jr 14.8;17.13;Hb 6.18-19esperança; também hoje anuncio que te pagarei *Is 61.7em dobro. 13 Pois para mim tenho *Jr 51.20estendido a Judá, tenho enchido de Efraim o arco; incitarei teus filhos, ó Sião, contra teus filhos, ó *Jl 3.6Grécia, e te farei a ti como *Sl 45.3;Is 49.2a espada de um valente. 14 *Zc 2.5;Is 31.5Por cima deles será visto Jeová, e as suas *Sl 18.14;Hc 3.11flechas sairão como o relâmpago; o Senhor *Is 27.13Jeová tocará a *Is 21.1;66.15trombeta e irá com redemoinho do Sul. 15 *Zc 12.8;Is 37.35Jeová dos Exércitos os defenderá; eles *Zc 12.6devorarão *Jó 41.28e pisarão aos pés as fundas; beberão e farão *Sl 78.65alvoroço como de vinho; e ficarão cheios como *Zc 14.20as bacias de sacrifício, como *Êx 27.2os cantos do altar. 16 Jeová, seu Deus, *Jr 31.10-11os salvará, naquele dia, como o rebanho do seu povo; porque eles serão como as pedras de uma *Is 62.3coroa, elevadas sobre a terra dele. 17 Pois quão grande é a sua bondade, e quão grande é *Jr 31.12,14a sua *Sl 27.4;Is 33.17formosura! O trigo fará florescer os mancebos, e o mosto, as donzelas.

1 The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD. 2 And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise. 3 And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets. 4 Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire. 5 Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. 6 And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. 7 And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.*9.7 blood: Heb. bloods 8 And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.*9.9 having…: or, saving himself 10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. 11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.*9.11 by…: or, whose covenant is by blood

12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee; 13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. 14 And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. 15 The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.*9.15 with…: or, the stones of the sling*9.15 be…: or, fill both the bowls, etc 16 And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land. 17 For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.*9.17 cheerful: or, grow, or, speak
