A ressurreição dos mortos. A ressurreição de Cristo

1 *Gl 1.11; cp.Rm 2.16Eu vos lembro, irmãos, o *1Co 3.6;4.15; cp.Rm 2.16evangelho que vos anunciei, o qual também recebestes, *Rm 5.2; cp.Rm 11.20;2Co 1.24e no qual estais firmes, 2 e pelo qual sois salvos, *Rm 11.22se é que o conservais, como vo-lo preguei, *Gl 3.4salvo se crestes em vão. 3 Pois *1Co 11.23eu vos entreguei primeiramente o que também recebi: que Cristo morreu *Jo 1.29;Gl 1.4;Hb 5.1,3;1Pe 2.24por nossos pecados, *Is 53.5-12;Mt 26.24;Lc 24.25-27;At 8.32s.;17.2s.;26.22segundo as Escrituras, e que foi sepultado, 4 e que foi *Mt 16.21;Jo 2.21s.;At 2.24ressuscitado ao terceiro dia, segundo *Sl 16.8ss.;At 2.31;26.22s.as Escrituras, 5 e que *Lc 24.34apareceu a *1Co 1.12Cefas e então *Mc 16.14aos doze. 6 Depois, apareceu a mais de quinhentos irmãos de uma vez, dos quais a maior parte permanece até agora, mas alguns *At 7.60;1Co 15.18,20já dormiram. 7 Depois, apareceu a *At 12.17Tiago e, então, *cp.Lc 24.33,36s.;At 1.3s.a todos os apóstolos; 8 e, por último de todos, *1Co 9.1; cp.At 9.3,8;22.6-11;26.12-18apareceu também a mim, como a um abortivo. 9 Pois eu sou *Ef 3.8; cp.2Co 12.11;1Tm 1.15o mínimo dos apóstolos, que não sou digno de ser chamado apóstolo, porque *At 8.3persegui a igreja de Deus; 10 mas, *Rm 12.3pela graça de Deus, sou o que sou, e a sua graça, que me foi concedida, não se tornou vã; antes, *2Co 11.23;Cl 1.29;1Tm 4.10trabalhei mais abundantemente que todos eles; *cp.1Co 3.6;2Co 3.5;Fp 2.13não eu, contudo, mas a graça de Deus comigo. 11 Portanto, seja eu ou sejam eles, assim pregamos, e assim crestes.

12 Ora, se se prega que Cristo foi ressuscitado dentre os mortos, como dizem alguns dentre vós que *cp.At 17.32;23.8;2Tm 2.18não há ressurreição de mortos? 13 Mas, se não há ressurreição de mortos, nem Cristo foi ressuscitado; 14 e, *1Ts 4.14se Cristo não foi ressuscitado, é logo vã a nossa pregação, é também vã a vossa fé. 15 Somos conhecidos também por falsas testemunhas de Deus, porque testificamos contra Deus que ele ressuscitou a Cristo, ao qual ele não *At 2.24ressuscitou, se, com efeito, os mortos não são ressuscitados. 16 Pois, se os mortos não são ressuscitados, nem Cristo foi ressuscitado; 17 mas, se Cristo não foi ressuscitado, a vossa fé é vã, e *Rm 4.25estais ainda em vossos pecados. 18 Também, por conseguinte, *1Ts 4.16;Ap 14.13;1Co 15.6os que dormiram em Cristo pereceram. 19 Se nesta vida temos unicamente esperado em Cristo, somos *cp.1Co 4.9;2Tm 3.12de todos os homens os mais dignos de lástima.

Cristo, as primícias dos que dormem

20 Mas, agora, *1Pe 1.3;At 2.24Cristo foi ressuscitado dentre os mortos, sendo ele as *1Co 15.23;At 26.23;Ap 1.5primícias dos que dormem. 21 Pois, desde que a morte veio *Rm 5.12por um homem, também por um homem veio a ressurreição dos mortos. 22 Pois, *Rm 5.14-18assim como em Adão todos morrem, assim também em Cristo todos serão vivificados. 23 Mas cada um na sua ordem. As primícias, Cristo; depois, *1Co 15.52;1Co 6.14;1Ts 4.16os que são de Cristo, *1Ts 2.19na sua vinda. 24 Então, virá o fim, quando ele entregar *cp.Dn 2.44;7.14,27;2Pe 1.11o reino ao *Ef 5.20Deus e Pai, quando houver destruído *Rm 8.38todo domínio e toda autoridade e poder. 25 Pois é necessário que ele reine, *Sl 110.1; cp.Mt 22.44até que ponha todos os seus inimigos debaixo dos seus pés. 26 O último inimigo que será *2Tm 1.10; cp.Ap 20.14;21.4destruído é a morte. 27 Porque: *Sl 8.6Todas as coisas sujeitou debaixo dos pés dele. Mas, quando se diz que *Ef 1.22;Hb 2.8;Mt 11.27;28.18todas as coisas lhe estão sujeitas, claro é que se excetua aquele que lhe sujeitou todas as coisas. 28 Quando *Fp 3.21tudo lhe estiver sujeito, então, também o mesmo Filho estará sujeito àquele que lhe sujeitou todas as coisas, para que *1Co 12.6; cp.3.23Deus seja em todas as coisas.

O batismo pelos mortos

29 De outra maneira, que farão os que se batizam pelos mortos? Se, realmente, os mortos não são ressuscitados, por que, então, se batizam por eles? 30 Por que nos expomos também nós *2Co 11.26a perigos a toda hora? 31 Declaro, irmãos, pelo regozijo que tenho a vosso respeito em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor, que *Rm 8.36morro todos os dias. 32 Se eu, como homem, *2Co 1.8(?)combati com as feras em *1Co 16.8s.;At 18.19Éfeso, que me aproveita isso? Se os mortos não são ressuscitados, *Is 22.13; cp.56.12;Lc 12.19comamos e bebamos, porque amanhã morreremos. 33 *1Co 6.9Não vos deixeis enganar: más companhias corrompem bons costumes. 34 *Rm 13.11Despertai para a justiça e não pequeis; pois alguns *cp.Mt 22.29;At 26.8não têm conhecimento de Deus; *1Co 6.5digo isso para vos envergonhar.

Os mortos terão corpos apropriados

35 Mas *cp.Rm 9.19alguém dirá: Como são *cp.Ez 37.3ressuscitados os mortos? E em que qualidade de corpo veem? 36 *Lc 11.40Insensato, o que tu *Jo 12.24semeias não se vivifica sem que morra; 37 e o que semeias, não semeias o corpo que há de nascer, mas o mero grão, como, por exemplo, de trigo ou de alguma outra coisa; 38 Deus, porém, lhe dá um corpo como lhe aprouve e, *Gn 1.11a cada uma das sementes, um corpo próprio. 39 Nem toda carne é a mesma carne, mas uma é a dos homens, outra, a dos animais, outra, a das aves, e outra, a dos peixes. 40 Também há corpos celestes e corpos terrestres; mas uma é a glória dos celestes, e outra, a dos terrestres. 41 Uma é a glória do sol, outra, a glória da lua, e outra, a glória das estrelas; porque uma estrela difere de outra em glória. 42 *Dn 12.3; cp.Mt 13.43Assim também é a ressurreição dos mortos. Semeia-se em *1Co 15.50;Rm 8.21;Gl 6.8corrupção, é ressuscitado em *Rm 2.7incorrupção; semeia-se em vileza, é ressuscitado em *Fp 3.21; cp.Cl 3.4glória; 43 semeia-se em fraqueza, é ressuscitado em poder; 44 semeia-se *cp.1Co 2.14corpo animal, é ressuscitado *cp.1Co 15.50corpo espiritual. Se há corpo animal, também o há espiritual. 45 Assim está escrito: O primeiro homem, Adão, foi feito em *Gn 2.7alma vivente; o *Rm 5.14último Adão, em *Jo 5.21;6.57s.;Rm 8.2espírito vivificante. 46 Mas não é primeiro o espiritual, senão o animal; depois, o espiritual. 47 O primeiro homem é da *Jo 3.31terra, é *Gn 2.7;3.19terreno; o segundo homem é do céu. 48 Qual o terreno, tais também os terrenos; qual o celestial, tais *Fp 3.20s.também os celestiais; 49 e, *Gn 5.3como trouxemos a imagem do terreno, também *Rm 8.29traremos a imagem do celestial.

Seremos mudados

50 Ora, digo isto, irmãos, que a *Mt 16.17; cp.Jo 3.5s.carne e o sangue não podem *1Co 6.9herdar o reino dos céus, nem a corrupção herdar a *Rm 2.7incorrupção. 51 Eis que vos digo *1Co 13.2um mistério: nem todos dormiremos, mas todos *cp.2Co 5.2,4seremos mudados, 52 num momento, num abrir e fechar de olhos, ao som da última trombeta. *Mt 24.31A trombeta soará, *Jo 5.28os mortos serão ressuscitados incorruptíveis, *1Ts 4.15,17e nós seremos mudados. 53 Pois é necessário que este corpo corruptível se revista da incorruptibilidade e que *2Co 5.4este corpo mortal se revista da imortalidade. 54 Mas, quando este corpo corruptível se revestir da incorruptibilidade e este corpo mortal se revestir da imortalidade, então, se cumprirá a palavra que está escrita: *Is 25.8Tragada foi a morte na vitória. 55 *Os 13.14Onde está, ó morte, a tua vitória? Onde está, ó morte, o teu aguilhão? 56 O aguilhão *Rm 5.12da morte é o pecado, e a *Rm 3.20;4.15;7.8força do pecado é a lei; 57 mas, *2Co 2.14;Rm 7.25graças a Deus, que nos dá a *cp.Rm 8.37;Hb 2.14;1Jo 5.4;Ap 21.4vitória por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. 58 Portanto, *cp.2Pe 3.14meus amados irmãos, sede firmes, constantes, aplicando-vos cada vez mais *1Co 16.10à obra do Senhor, sabendo que o vosso trabalho não é vão no Senhor.

1 Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have also fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all, as to the child born at the wrong time, he appeared to me also. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, who is not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the assembly of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am. His grace which was given to me was not futile, but I worked more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Whether then it is I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.

12 Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised. 14 If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith also is in vain. 15 Yes, we are also found false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up Christ, whom he didn’t raise up if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead aren’t raised, neither has Christ been raised. 17 If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. 18 Then they also who are fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruit of those who are asleep. 21 For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ’s at his coming. 24 Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God the Father, when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 27 For, "He put all things in subjection under his feet."✝15:27 Psalms 8:6 But when he says, "All things are put in subjection", it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him. 28 When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to him who subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all.

29 Or else what will they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren’t raised at all, why then are they baptized for the dead? 30 Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour? 31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then "let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."✝15:32 Isaiah 22:13 33 Don’t be deceived! "Evil companionships corrupt good morals." 34 Wake up righteously and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

35 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised?" and, "With what kind of body do they come?" 36 You foolish one, that which you yourself sow is not made alive unless it dies. 37 That which you sow, you don’t sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, maybe of wheat, or of some other kind. 38 But God gives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial differs from that of the terrestrial. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown perishable; it is raised imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.

45 So also it is written, "The first man Adam became a living soul."✝15:45 Genesis 2:7 The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, that which is spiritual isn’t first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s*15:49 NU, TR read "we will" instead of "let’s" also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now I say this, brothers,*15:50 The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings." that flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom; neither does the perishable inherit imperishable.

51 Behold,*15:51 "Behold", from "ἰδοὺ", means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: "Death is swallowed up in victory."✝15:54 Isaiah 25:8

55 "Death, where is your sting?

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
