Abias imita a impiedade de seu pai Roboão

1 *2Cr 13.1Ora, no décimo oitavo ano do rei Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, começou Abias a reinar sobre Judá. 2 Reinou três anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Maaca, filha de Absalão. 3 Andou em todos os pecados que seu pai tinha cometido antes dele; *1Rs 11.4o seu coração não era perfeito para com Jeová, seu Deus, como o fora o coração de seu pai Davi. 4 Todavia, em atenção a Davi, deu-lhe Jeová uma *1Rs 11.36;2Sm 21.17lâmpada em Jerusalém, suscitando a seu filho depois dele e dando estabilidade a Jerusalém; 5 *1Rs 9.4;14.8porque Davi fez o que era reto aos olhos de Jeová e em nada se afastou de tudo o que lhe ordenou em todos os dias da sua vida, *2Sm 11.4,15-17;12.9-10exceto no que se passou a respeito de Urias, heteu. 6 *1Rs 14.30Houve sempre guerra entre Roboão e Jeroboão.

7 *2Cr 13.2,21-22O restante dos atos de Abias, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão, porventura, escritos no Livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Judá? *2Cr 13.3-20Houve guerra entre Abias e Jeroboão. 8 *2Cr 14.1Adormeceu Abias com seus pais, e sepultaram-no na Cidade de Davi. Em seu lugar, reinou seu filho Asa.

O bom reinado de Asa

9 No vigésimo ano de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, começou Asa a reinar sobre Judá. 10 Reinou quarenta e um anos em Jerusalém. *1Rs 15.2Sua mãe chamava-se Maaca, filha de Absalão. 11 *2Cr 14.2Asa fez o que era reto aos olhos de Jeová, como o fizera Davi, seu pai. 12 *1Rs 14.24;22.46;Dt 23.17Tirou da terra os sodomitas e *1Rs 11.7-8;14.23;2Cr 14.2-5removeu todos os ídolos que seus pais tinham feito. 13 Também *2Cr 15.16-18a Maaca, sua mãe, a removeu, para não ser ela rainha-mãe, porque tinha feito uma imagem horrível para servir de Aserá; Asa cortou essa imagem que ela tinha feito e a *Êx 32.20queimou junto à torrente de Cedrom. 14 *1Rs 22.43;2Rs 12.3Os altos, porém, não foram tirados; todavia, *1Rs 15.3;1Rs 8.61o coração de Asa foi perfeito todos os seus dias para com Jeová. 15 *1Rs 7.51Meteu na Casa de Jeová as coisas que seu pai tinha dedicado e as que ele mesmo tinha dedicado: prata, e ouro, e vasos.

Guerra entre Asa e Baasa

16 *1Rs 15.32Houve sempre guerra entre Asa e Baasa, rei de Israel. 17 Pois *2Cr 16.1-6Baasa, rei de Israel, subiu contra Judá e *1Rs 15.21-22edificou a Ramá, *1Rs 12.26-29para que não deixasse sair alguém dos territórios de Asa, rei de Judá, nem neles entrar. 18 Então, *1Rs 15.15;1Rs 14.26tomou Asa toda a prata e ouro que ficaram nos tesouros da Casa de Jeová, e os tesouros da casa do rei e os entregou nas mãos dos seus servos. *2Rs 12.17-18O rei Asa enviou-os a Ben-Hadade, filho de Tabirimom, filho de Heziom, rei da Síria, que habitava em *1Rs 11.23-24;Gn 14.15Damasco, dizendo: 19 Haja *2Cr 16.7aliança entre mim e ti, como houve entre meu pai e teu pai. Eis que te envio um presente de prata e de ouro; vai e quebra a tua aliança com Baasa, rei de Israel, para que ele se retire de mim. 20 Ben-Hadade deu ouvidos ao rei Asa, e enviou os generais dos seus exércitos contra as cidades de Israel, e feriu a *2Rs 15.29Ijom, a *1Rs 12.29Dã, a *2Rs 15.29Abel-Bete-Maaca e todo o distrito *Js 11.2;12.3de Quinerete, juntamente com toda a terra de Naftali. 21 O que tendo Baasa ouvido, *1Rs 15.17deixou de edificar a Ramá e habitou em *1Rs 14.17;16.15-18Tirza. 22 O rei Asa convocou a todo o Judá, sem excetuar ninguém. Levaram as pedras de Ramá e as suas madeiras, que Baasa havia empregado em a edificar, e com elas edificou o rei Asa a *Js 18.24;21.17Geba de Benjamim e a Mispa.

23 Ora, *2Cr 16.11-14o restante de todos os atos de Asa, e todo o seu poder, e tudo o que ele fez, e as cidades que edificou não estão, porventura, escritos no Livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Judá? Porém, no tempo da sua velhice, padeceu dos pés. 24 Asa adormeceu com seus pais e foi sepultado com eles na Cidade de Davi, seu pai. *1Rs 22.41-44;2Cr 17.1Em seu lugar, reinou seu filho Josafá.

Reinado de Nadabe, filho de Jeroboão

25 *1Rs 14.20Nadabe, filho de Jeroboão, começou a reinar sobre Israel no segundo ano de Asa, rei de Judá; e reinou sobre Israel dois anos. 26 Fez o mal à vista de Jeová e *1Rs 12.28-33;13.33-34andou nos caminhos de seu pai e no *1Rs 14.16;15.30,34pecado que seu pai tinha feito Israel cometer. 27 *1Rs 14.14Conspirou contra ele Baasa, filho de Aías, da casa de Issacar, e feriu-o em *Js 19.44;21.23Gibetom, que pertencia aos filisteus. Nadabe e todo o Israel sitiavam a Gibetom. 28 Baasa matou a Nadabe, no terceiro ano de Asa, rei de Judá, e reinou em lugar dele. 29 Tanto que começou a reinar, matou a toda a casa de Jeroboão (não lhe deixou ninguém com vida, exterminando-o, *1Rs 14.9-16conforme a palavra que Jeová falou por intermédio do seu servo Aías, silonita.), 30 por causa dos pecados que Jeroboão cometera e *1Rs 15.26pelos que fizera Israel cometer, por causa da provocação com que irritara a Jeová, Deus de Israel.

31 *1Rs 14.19Ora, o restante dos atos de Nadabe e tudo o que ele fez não estão, porventura, escritos no Livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Israel? 32 Houve sempre guerra entre Asa e Baasa, rei de Israel*1Rs 15.16.

A profecia de Jeú contra Baasa, rei de Israel

33 No terceiro ano de Asa, rei de Judá, começou Baasa, filho de Aías, a reinar sobre todo o Israel, em Tirza, e reinou vinte e quatro anos. 34 Ele fez o mal à vista de Jeová *1Rs 15.26e andou no caminho de Jeroboão e no pecado que ele tinha feito Israel cometer.

1 Now in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam began to reign over Judah. 2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. 3 He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father. 4 Nevertheless for David’s sake, Yahweh his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem; 5 because David did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and didn’t turn away from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. 6 Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life. 7 The rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam. 8 Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Asa his son reigned in his place.

9 In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah. 10 He reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. 11 Asa did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, as David his father did. 12 He put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made. 13 He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah. Asa cut down her image and burned it at the brook Kidron. 14 But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Yahweh all his days. 15 He brought into Yahweh’s house the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that he himself had dedicated: silver, gold, and utensils.

16 There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. 17 Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. 18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered it into the hand of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying, 19 "Let there be a treaty between me and you, like that between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me."

20 Ben Hadad listened to King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Beth Maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali. 21 When Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and lived in Tirzah. 22 Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah. No one was exempted. They carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and King Asa used it to build Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah. 23 Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet. 24 Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.

25 Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years. 26 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin. 27 Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon. 28 Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha killed him and reigned in his place. 29 As soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam. He didn’t leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him, according to the saying of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite; 30 for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger.

31 Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 32 There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah for twenty-four years. 34 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.
