A besta que saiu do mar

Vi sair do mar uma *Ap 13.14-15;Ap 15.2;16.13; cp.11.7;17.8;Dn 7.3besta que tinha *Ap 12.3dez chifres e sete cabeças, e, sobre os seus chifres, *cp.Ap 12.3;17.12dez diademas, e, sobre as suas cabeças, *Ap 17.3; cp.Dn 7.8;11.36nomes de blasfêmia. 2 A besta que vi era *Dn 7.6; cp.Os 13.7s.semelhante a um leopardo, os seus pés eram como os de *Dn 7.5urso, e a sua boca, como a boca *Dn 7.4de leão. *Ap 12.3O dragão deu-lhe o seu poder, e o seu *cp.Ap 2.13;16.10trono, e grande autoridade. 3 Vi uma das suas cabeças como ferida de morte; mas foi curada *Ap 13.12; cp.14a ferida mortal. Toda a terra *Ap 17.8se maravilhou após a besta; 4 e adoraram o dragão, porque deu a sua autoridade à besta. Adoraram a besta, dizendo: *cp.Ap 18.18;Êx 15.11;Is 46.5Quem há semelhante à besta, e quem pode pelejar contra ela? 5 Foi-lhe dada uma boca *Dn 7.8,11,20,25;11.36; cp.2Ts 2.3s.que falava grandes coisas e blasfêmias, e deu-se-lhe autoridade para assim fazer durante *Ap 11.2quarenta e dois meses. 6 Abriu a sua boca em blasfêmias contra Deus, para blasfemar o seu nome, e o seu tabernáculo, e *Ap 12.12; cp.7.15os que habitam no céu. 7 Foi-lhe dado que *Ap 11.7fizesse guerra aos santos e que os vencesse; e foi-lhe concedida autoridade sobre *Ap 5.9toda tribo, povo, língua e nação. 8 *Ap 13.12,14; vd.3.10Todos os habitantes da terra a adorarão, aqueles *Ap 3.5cujos nomes *Ap 17.8;Mt 25.34desde o princípio do mundo não estão escritos no livro da vida *Ap 5.6do Cordeiro que foi morto. 9 *cp.Ap 2.7Se alguém tem ouvidos, ouça. 10 *cp.Is 33.1;Jr 15.2;43.11Se alguém é para o cativeiro, para o cativeiro vai; *Gn 9.6;Mt 26.52; cp.Ap 11.18se alguém matar à espada, é necessário que seja morto à espada. *Hb 6.12; cp.Ap 14.12Aqui está a perseverança e a fé dos santos.

A besta que saiu da terra

11 *cp.Ap 13.1,14;Ap 16.13Vi sair da terra outra besta, que tinha *cp.Dn 8.3dois chifres semelhantes aos de um cordeiro e que falava como *Ap 13.4dragão. 12 Ela exercitava toda a autoridade da primeira besta *Ap 13.14;Ap 19.20na sua presença. Fez que a terra e seus habitantes *Ap 13.15;Ap 14.9,11;16.2;19.20;20.4adorassem a primeira besta, cuja *Ap 13.3ferida mortal tinha sido curada. 13 *Ap 19.20; cp.16.14;Mt 24.24Obrou grandes milagres, de sorte que fazia até descer *cp.Ap 20.9;1Rs 18.38;Lc 9.54; cp.Ap 11.5fogo do céu sobre a terra, à vista dos homens. 14 *Ap 12.9Enganava *Ap 13.8os habitantes da terra com os *2Ts 2.9s.milagres que lhe foi dado fazer *Ap 13.12diante da besta, mandando aos habitantes da terra que fizessem uma imagem para a besta que fora ferida pela espada e que ainda vivia. 15 Foi-lhe dado que comunicasse fôlego à imagem da besta, a fim de que a imagem da besta falasse e fizesse com que *cp.Dn 3.3ss.todos os que não adorassem a imagem da besta fossem mortos. 16 A todos, *Ap 11.18;19.5,18pequenos e grandes, ricos e pobres, livres e escravos, fez que lhes fosse dada uma *Ap 14.9;20.4;Gl 6.17; cp.Ap 7.3marca na mão direita ou na testa, 17 a fim de que ninguém pudesse comprar ou vender senão o que tivesse a marca, *Ap 14.11o nome da besta ou o *Ap 15.2número do seu nome. 18 *cp.Ap 17.9Aqui está a sabedoria. Aquele que tem inteligência calcule o número da besta; porque é o número *cp.Ap 21.17de homem. O seu número é seiscentos e sessenta e seis.

1 Then I stood*13:1 NU reads he stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names. 2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. 4 They worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"

5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him. 6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, his dwelling, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed.*13:10 TR reads "If anyone leads into captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone will kill with the sword, he must be killed with a sword." instead of "If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed." Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. 14 He deceives my own*13:14 NU omits "my own" people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived. 15 It was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands or on their foreheads; 17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell unless he has that mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.
