Oséias 2

1 Dize a vossos irmãos: *Os 2.23Meu-Povo; e as vossas irmãs: Favor.

2 Contendei com vossa mãe, *Os 1.5;Os 4.5;Ez 23.45contendei, porque ela *Is 50.1não é minha esposa, nem sou eu seu esposo. Tire ela da sua face as *Os 1.2;Jr 3.1,9,13suas fornicações e, dentre os seus peitos, os seus adultérios; 3 para que eu não a despoje, *Ez 16.7,22,39deixando-a nua, e a ponha como no dia em que nasceu, *Os 13.15;Is 32.13-14e a faça como um deserto, e a torne como uma terra árida, e a mate *Jr 14.3;Am 8.11-13à sede. 4 Até *Os 1.6;Jr 13.14;Ez 8.18de seus filhos não terei misericórdia, porque são filhos de fornicação. 5 Pois sua mãe *Os 2.2;Os 3.1;Is 1.21se prostituiu; aquela que os concebeu houve-se torpemente, porque disse: *Jr 2.25;3.1-2Irei após os meus amantes, *Os 2.12;Jr 44.17-18que me dão o meu pão e a minha água, a minha lã e o meu linho, o meu azeite e a minha bebida. 6 Portanto, eis que te vou *Jó 19.8cercar o caminho com *Os 9.6;10.8espinhos e levantarei contra ela uma sebe, de sorte que ela não ache as suas *Jr 18.15veredas. 7 Ela irá *Os 5.13;2Cr 28.20-22em seguimento dos seus amantes, porém não os alcançará; ela os buscará, porém não os achará; então, dirá: Irei e voltarei para o *Jr 2.2;3.1;Ez 16.8;23.4meu primeiro marido, porque então me *Os 13.6;Jr 14.22ia melhor do que agora.

A infidelidade do povo será castigada

8 Pois ela *Is 1.3não sabia que *Ez 16.19fui eu o que lhe dei o grão, e o mosto, e o óleo e que lhe multipliquei *Os 2.13;Os 8.4a prata e o ouro, de que fizeram a Baal. 9 Por isso, *Os 8.7;9.2tornarei a tomar o meu grão a seu tempo e o meu mosto a seu tempo e arrebatarei a minha lã e o meu linho, que deviam cobrir a sua nudez. 10 Agora, *Ez 16.37descobrirei a sua vileza à vista dos seus amantes, e ninguém a livrará da minha mão. 11 Também *Jr 7.34;16.9farei cessar toda a sua alegria, as suas *Os 3.4;Am 5.21;8.10festas, as suas *Is 1.13-14luas novas, os seus sábados e todas as suas assembleias solenes. 12 *Jr 5.17;8.13Assolarei as suas vides e as suas figueiras, de que ela tem dito: *Os 2.5Estas são o meu aluguel que me deram os meus amantes; *Sl 80.12;Is 5.5;7.23delas farei um bosque, *Os 13.8;Is 32.13-15e os animais do campo as devorarão. 13 Sobre ela, visitarei os *Os 4.13;11.2dias de Baalins, aos quais *Jr 7.9queimava incenso, quando *Ez 16.12,17;23.40se enfeitava com as suas arrecadas e as suas joias e, indo após os seus amantes, *Os 4.6;8.14;13.6se esquecia de mim, diz Jeová.

14 Portanto, eis que eu a atrairei, *Ez 20.33-38e a levarei para o deserto, e lhe falarei ao coração. 15 Dali, lhe darei as suas *Ez 28.25-26vinhas e *Js 7.26o vale de Acor, para uma porta de esperança; ali, *Jr 2.1-3cantará ela como nos dias da sua mocidade e como no *Os 11.1;12.9,13;13.4;Êx 15.2dia em que subiu da terra do Egito. 16 Naquele dia, diz Jeová, me chamarás *Os 2.7;Is 54.5Meu Marido e nunca mais me chamarás Meu Baal. 17 Pois da sua boca *Êx 23.13;Js 23.7;Sl 16.4tirarei os nomes *Os 2.13dos Baalins, e os seus nomes não serão mais mencionados. 18 Naquele dia, far-lhes-ei uma aliança com *Jó 5.23;Is 11.6-9;Ez 34.25os animais do campo, e com as aves do céu, e com os répteis da terra; da terra *Ez 39.1-10quebrarei o arco, e a espada, e a guerra e fá-los-ei *Ez 34.25deitar em segurança. 19 *Is 62.4-5;Jr 3.14Desposar-te-ei comigo para sempre, sim, desposar-te-ei comigo em *Is 1.27;54.6-8justiça, e em juízo, e em benignidade, e em misericórdias. 20 Desposar-te-ei comigo em fidelidade, e *Os 6.6;13.4conhecerás a Jeová.

21 Naquele dia, *Is 55.10;Zc 8.12;Ml 3.10-11responderei, diz Jeová, responderei aos céus, e estes responderão à terra; 22 a terra *Jr 31.12;Jl 2.19responderá ao grão, ao mosto e ao azeite, e estes responderão a *Os 1.4-5,11Jezreel. 23 *Jr 31.27Semeá-la-ei para mim na terra e terei misericórdia daquela *Os 2.1;Os 1.6que não havia recebido misericórdia; *Rm 9.25direi aos *Os 1.9que não eram o meu povo: *Os 2.1Tu és o meu povo; e eles dirão: Tu és o meu Deus.

2 Contend with your mother!

Contend, for she is not my wife,

neither am I her husband;

and let her put away her prostitution from her face,

and her adulteries from between her breasts;

3 lest I strip her naked,

and make her bare as in the day that she was born,

and make her like a wilderness,

and set her like a dry land,

and kill her with thirst.

4 Indeed, on her children I will have no mercy,

for they are children of unfaithfulness.

5 For their mother has played the prostitute.

She who conceived them has done shamefully;

for she said, ‘I will go after my lovers,

who give me my bread and my water,

my wool and my flax,

my oil and my drink.’

6 Therefore behold,*2:6 "Behold", from "הִנֵּה", means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. I will hedge up your way with thorns,

and I will build a wall against her,

that she can’t find her way.

7 She will follow after her lovers,

but she won’t overtake them;

and she will seek them,

but won’t find them.

Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband,

for then it was better with me than now.’

8 For she didn’t know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil,

and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

9 Therefore I will take back my grain in its time,

and my new wine in its season,

and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness.

10 Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers,

and no one will deliver her out of my hand.

11 I will also cause all her celebrations to cease:

her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies.

12 I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees,

about which she has said, ‘These are my wages that my lovers have given me,’

and I will make them a forest,

and the animals of the field shall eat them.

13 I will visit on her the days of the Baals,

to which she burned incense

when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels,

and went after her lovers

and forgot me," says Yahweh.

14 "Therefore behold, I will allure her,

and bring her into the wilderness,

and speak tenderly to her.

15 I will give her vineyards from there,

and the valley of Achor for a door of hope;

and she will respond there

as in the days of her youth,

and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

16 It will be in that day," says Yahweh,

"that you will call me ‘my husband,’

and no longer call me ‘my master.’

17 For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth,

and they will no longer be mentioned by name.

18 In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field,

and with the birds of the sky,

and with the creeping things of the ground.

I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land,

and will make them lie down safely.

19 I will betroth you to me forever.

Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion.

20 I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness;

and you shall know Yahweh.

21 It will happen in that day, that I will respond," says Yahweh.

"I will respond to the heavens,

and they will respond to the earth;

22 and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil;

and they will respond to Jezreel.

23 I will sow her to me in the earth;

and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy;

and I will tell those who were not my people, ‘You are my people;’

and they will say, ‘You are My God!’"
